Do you know its kind of strange having someone look up to you.
It feels wierd, yet its quite a warming experience.

But there is also the worry that you wouldn't want to disappoint them.

    Interesting...

It just doesn't seem like there are actual, paying jobs that can be had with these degrees (outside of academia and teaching) and on the whole they seem to be an academic waterhead fuckaround. Opinions?

I feel sorry for people who've racked up a huge student debt and subsequently can't get a job. But at the same time I see people here moaning about how they got a degree in Fine Arts or Art History or Mating Habits of the Lesser Spotted Rock Wallaby or whatever, and now can't find work in the field. Well no shit, what did you expect??

Nothing wrong with knowledge for knowledge's own sake, but it's a bit short-sighted to take one of those degrees and expect society to provide you with a job at the end of it.

I also get confused when it comes to people who write that they "can't afford to get married". All it takes is around $50 for a marriage license as far as I can tell. Maybe you can't afford a WEDDING, but you can probably afford to get married. And tax laws seem to favour married couples. Am I missing something here?

Heh. Weishan and I are kind of dodgy on even having a wedding ceremony for that reason. We're kinda poor and though we'll probably have one at some point, we kind of don't see much point in it. It seems to be more for the benefit of family and friends than the actual couple.

You should have a random TARDIS at your wedding. No explanation. Just leave it there and see what happens.

I just watched the first 45 minutes of Uncharted 3.

...God, I have been living under a rock all this time... :(

*sigh* I've added a PS3 and the entire Uncharted series to date to my Amazon wishlist, but I'm not expecting to get it. I mean, my family isn't handing out candy tomorrow due to financial obligations.:(

The Uncharted series and Heavy Rain makes me extremely glad that I chose to purchase a PS3 over a 360.

What am I missing out on in terms of 360 exclusives?
Generic space marines in Gears of War

    and

    The red light of death

    Yep, no regrets there.

Oh, absolutely. He was my favourite character too. When the game revealed that twist ending I thought to myself "bullshit! That makes absolutely no sense", but then I immediately replayed the game and was amazed to find that it all makes perfect sense.

Replaying Heavy Rain completely alters your perception and understanding of that character's actions. It's superb and yet, to this day I hear people claiming that the ending was garbage. I guess they never replayed the game and are still in the "bullshit! That makes absolutely no sense" frame of mind. What a shame that they've failed to pick up on and praise the greatest twist in gaming history.

It felt like the ending to
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. with the "narrator" or "player" was the villian and how he didnt lie or it didnt retcon his actions but just didnt show them all.

Having the character do things unknown to me at a time whilst I was in control was really what got to me about it. Quantic Dream always pull the silliest twists in their games

Having a difference of opinion is weird and deranged.

Anyhoo, Heavy Rain's good, you're weird.

Godzilla and Cloverfield has nothing on this. They should do a 'Godzilla Vs...' style of sequel against a giant egg. At the end of the movie, the two combine and give birth to an even bigger monstrosity (Paris Hilton perhaps). Then it would be time for the third installment in this epic franchise. Bring on the Oscars.

Well, technically the TARDIS does have a randomizer installed.

I suppose arbitrary or unexplained might have also fit the bill, though.
