One day, when technology is advanced enough, I'll be buying a foldable screen that fits the entire window, and then when people ring the bell they'll see a ghostly apparition appearing in the window, which is funny because we in the Netherlands don't usually celebrate Halloween.
Also, after that I would rig the windows in such a way that when somebody taps on the window, it will generate a fake crack on the foldable screen, all with a crack sound. That will teach those who tap on windows when there is a doorbell.
I dunno. Depends on the quality of the Bibles. As a kid I would have done nearly anything to get my hands on more books, regardless of what they were.
Hence my small collection of L. Ron Hubbard books. My school librarian gave them to me for free. Personally, I think she might have even offered to pay me to take them if I'd held out.
This one made me chortle audibly. You win! Also, I got my parents to send over all the candy they didn't give away. Omnomnom Hershey's and Jack Daniel's.

I still have a Bible with my name engraved upon it. You want?

Is it a nice one? Like...leather binding and such? Because if so, I'll totally take it. I'm working on building a small library and I want to have nice books to show off in it. Someday, I will even go and get all my paperbacks hardbound professionally so that they fit in with the rest of the books.
Two nights ago, during the day when most of the parties were supposed to be happening (weren't supposed to be many today), the owners of local bars treated us to drinks on the roof of a nearby bar. Only pic I got but it was awesome, and we had a big afterparty at their place afterwards.
Tonight a girl dressed as Mr. Bean won the dancing contest. Well, she sort of dressed like Mr. Bean. Really just wore his head.
Party Rock Bot came to liven up the party and participate in the dance contest. Prize was $2,000 dollars.
Me just before I hit the party scene.
The girl I went with dressed like Batgirl, so of course she had to have a picture with Batman.
I find it absolutely bizarre how sometimes I can be very passive in a group, but in another I absolutely take charge and dominate as a leader.
Maybe I subconciously determine whether anyone is confident enough to lead, and then take up the mantle if no one else seems willing.
The irony, is that outside of acedemics, I am very introvert, and completely lack confidence.
I guess that somewhere inside, there is a primal instinct to take control and create something.
I must find a way to tap into it more often.
But its like, I can't seem to do it all myself.
I need other people, people who have their own strengths and weaknesses, to decrease the overwhelming workload, and be able to do things that I am unable to do, for lack of skills.
I guess that makes me a natural producer.
I know now that if I want to be a successful developer I need a crew.
I have imagination in abundance, (I always as a kid been tinkering with programs such as 3D movie maker, flash, microsoft paint, and game maker) but I know I am no real artist, musician, coder or artist.
Its all in my head, the overall picture, but I can't seem to make the details.
Even if I can do it, I seem to get distracted, or put off, as I am forcing myself to do something thats not in my nature.
I get frustrated at myself for my incompetence.
I can't even make simple things with placeholders, but not for lack of trying.
Its a shame my uni doesn't have a true gaming society, else I could have found like minded individual, and this sort of thing would be easier to arrange.
Oh well, I guess regular management will have to do for now! XD
EDIT: I mean it sounds crazy, but I think I would make a fantastic producer.
I know what makes a great game, I have a great sense of humour, and I really care about quality and input from others, (I tend to be very democratic as a leader, unless under extreme pressure, then I go a little autocratic, which would be good for crunch time).
Oh, and I have a good sense of awareness in the videogame industry, but more importantly I can APPLY that and make connections.
(Its mainly why many people can't keep up with me in a conversation, because I basically talk on a whole other level altogether)
(I know you guys normally get what I am saying, but don't forget, we are a MINORITY group afterall.
(Using Mary Barton as a example, (A book, which not many people could ever truly appreciate), we are basically Job Legh and Co. Just replace bugs with videogames.
So yes, there are many people out there who think we are Wizards! XD)
I hate it when someone sends you a rude patronising email.
I mean, I am trying to sort myself out here, get all my timetable sorted, groups formed, and work done.
And though today it has all been sorted, it should really have been sorted weeks ago.
So when I send an email explaining my case, and just simply asking for help, I don't expect the module leader to send me a pretty rude letter.
She didn't even check the time I sent it. I sent it BEFORE she uploaded the updated timetable.
Before that, I wasn't even on the list for anything, so as you can understand, for good reason, that I was concerned.
But thats not the rude bit.
The woman then inappropriately adds some patronising "advice".
I already understand that students should be available 5 days a week from 9:00am to 7:00pm, but as I further explained, (yeah, I didn't need to send another email back, but I did anyway since I don't see a reason why not. She was rude to me, I am not going to just take that), that in order to be there all the time for that length of time, it would require me to:
- Get up at 5am
- Ride the bus for 2 1/2 hours
- Spend the 9:00am to 7:00pm there
- Ride the bus for another hour
- Wait until 8:45 (so thats another 45 minutes) to catch a bus which doesn't even take me all the way back
- Get off at Tring (another 20 minutes), then wait for someone to pick me up from there (try arranging that 5 days a week!)
- Get in at about 9-10pm
Then she says I should spend my extra time in the Learning Resource Centre, (in response to a part of my message where I explained that I don't really want to come in for just 1 hour of tutorial when I spend 5 hours of my day on a bus so I'd reasonably requested a Friday slot, since I have other things to do then).
I then reminded her that I do in fact, spend most of my extra time already in the LRC, and in fact that on Thursday I have a whole 5 HOURS to spend in there.
(Plus I go up on Tuesday, since I have group work anyway)
And that, even if I am at home, I can still access a large variety of electronic sources.
(The uni has remote access to most things via athens. So I can access sites like Mintel (a industry report website), Business Source Complete, Emerald, Google Scholar (articles, reports and research papers), and Voyager, (which has ebooks of the some of the stuff we have in the library).
So then, what did we learn here?
That you shouldn't just assume I'm some unorganised, incompetent fool, when in fact, I am very aware of my situation, the resources available to me, and that I actually want to do work, to do well, and to get all this stupid crap sorted out in advance.
EDIT: Oh, and that you should NEVER EVER try to patronise me! XD
I accidentally went to a strip club last night. Full disclosure, we were hopping a series of bars that were collectively celebrating Halloween. Just turned out that the one at the end of the strip was a strip club. FYI, I really dislike strip clubs.

That sounds like an excuse to a pissed off girlfriend.
Being a homeowner, I have to stay home on Halloween, so I that can hand out candy and avoid people setting fire to the place. This year, the weather was particularly nice, so there were an abundance of trick-or-treaters. As a result, I don't have as much leftover candy this year as I did last year, though I still have half a bowl full plus three bags. We'll see how long that holds out.
For you see, I was looking for another chance to include superboy's wonderful reality altering powers, as to perchance cement it into at least an in-forum joke.
But alas, it appears by explaining the joke, as it were, I may have doomed it.

I honestly don't think that I could remember to do all that. I'm too busy trying to figure a really clever way of murdering half of the cast in inventive and untraceable ways. Well...nearly untraceable.

Your haunted!
No one told them how much you like firearms.
Fun-size Snickers!
You're doing something wrong, mate. I've had nary a treater at my door.
It must have gotten round that I only give out tricks and they are generally in the water balloon variety.
Obtain Bibles
Celebrate Jesusween.

Better yet, get Mormon bibles. And Kama Sutras for the parents.

You mean Kama Sutras for EVERYONE! It's not offensive if it's a religion. :P

Pity, they are quite good... but I think you win with peanut butter M&M's.
To Google!
Aah... Now I understand... and you saved me a trip to Google!
Oooh my teeth hurt just looking at it!

Game Maker 8 or Construct 2.
(About the same price, but Game Maker is old, and becoming a little outdated. Also I'm lazy so Construct 2 may be better these days)
Oh yeah, sure you did! Accidentally... sure.
Just like I "accidentally" strangled that defenceless woman.
You're fooling no-one.
Do this next year and take pictures. Please?
You're a girl?
I should have went as Ronald McDonald and just found a....
Oh wait...
Nah, he's just a dude with boobs. XD
EDIT: Wait? Are there women here...?
As in... female?
O_O
SUPERBOY PUNCH!!!
Like any one who cos plays as female charecters are women!
I actually didn't feel any squick at all about that.
Because all these years of being on the internet and playing videogames have made me immune to anything!
Now I shall go and spead my culture to another land.
(Cultural dominance shall be mine!)
I feel ignored.
Twas a mere joke my dear.
For you see, I was looking for another chance to include superboy's wonderful reality altering powers, as to perchance cement it into at least an in-forum joke.
But alas, it appears by explaining the joke, as it were, I may have doomed it.
Unless....
SUPERBOY PUNCH!!!
So am I...sorta. I can send stuff, but I probably won't get around to being able to read anything until late tomorrow night due to midterms.
...I was joking too...
Oh, I...erm...haven't actually joined that. I didn't even know that was a thing that was supposed to be done.
Don't worry if it's too much of a hassle
The master definitely suits your style better.
