    I don't like being angry.

I don't mind being angry at nebulous things or situations, because it gives me a hell of a lot more power and drive than being sad. I do very poorly being angry at people though - particularly those I love. On the extremely rare occasion I go beyond annoyance with someone I care for, I'll manage to be incandescent for about 20 seconds before I burn out and start crying. It's pathetic, but at least fights are resolved pretty quickly. :p

I never feel like I get drive from anger. It just feels like a big mental wall that keeps me from being at all able to think clearly. I feel a lot more normal and comfortable being sad than I ever do mad. It's always being angry that makes me do the things I regret later.

I get this. Fairly well, actually. The idea is that you learn to control it and express your disapproval from a slightly removed position so that you're less emotionally involved in an argument.

I tend to think of lakes, for some reason. I count four years without incident as being pretty good for a lake.

Though, I also don't like being sad. That is depressing. I would much rather be excited about something.

My defensive barrier to anger or sadness is trying to make humour out of the situation, or to not take it too seriously.

Shame that people like my older brother know exactly how to push my buttons to make me seethe with rage! >:/

(I hate that guy! Such an asshat!)

Man, I have seen so many good ideas for Epic Rap Battles of History I need to write them all down.

    Superman vs. Goku
I've seen this suggestion a lot, but most just want it because it would be awesome. The main reason I want it is because of the many resemblances between the two. Both are aliens who have been raised by a human being. Both have their homeworld destroyed, making them almost the last of their race. Both have above human strength, and are considered the strongest on the planet. It's basically a perfect match!

    Sherlock Holmes vs. Gregory House
Actually, this is a shoe-in. Gregory House has been called numerous times the Sherlock Holmes of medicine, or a modern Sherlock Holmes in general. Both have their own Watson even, and both even had their own Moriarties. There might even be more things they have in common, but I don't really know.

    Odysseus vs. The Doctor
Oh man, I recently stumbled upon this one. Before you think it's a crackpot pairing up, let me explain. Odysseus is a man who was cursed by Poseidon to never find his way home. He basically spent a lifetime traveling back to his wife and son, and only managed to get there after about twenty years or so, along the way losing all his crewmembers, making him the only survivor. The Doctor is a man who basically cursed himself after all these years of basically messing up the lives of his companions, and screwing over his own home planet. If I recall correctly he felt guilty over the fact that he doomed himself to be the last of his kind. Basically the Doctor is a modern Odysseus.

    Elmo vs. Cthulhu
What does a fuzzy little red monster of joy and an ancient eldritch abomination of darkness have in common? Aside from the fact that they both inspired nations and that they're both pretty much monsters, nothing. And that's the beauty of this battle. They're both each others opposites. Elmo is all about happiness, while Cthulhu would bring an eternal darkness of the spotless mind.

    Jim Henson vs. H.P. Lovecraft
By extension, you could also do this pairing. But again, aside from both creating inspiring work, one creating the muppets, the other basically inventing the cosmic horror genre, they don't have a lot in common. But who cares? They work pretty well against each other.

Joan of Arc vs. Samus Aran
Before I begin, why did this name (Jeanne d'Arc) get an English version? It's kind of like Marcus Antonius got turned into Mark Antony, it just doesn't make a lot of sense. But anyway, why these two? Because of rule of cool, that's why. I mean, Jeanne d'Arc basically led the French army into various victories. Samus Aran led several planets to their doom. Literally. Michael Bay like doom. Actually, come to think of it...

    Michael Bay vs. Samus Aran
Now what do these two have in common? Simple. Earth shattering explosions. Or rather, in Samus' case, planet-shattering explosions. She's blown up more than enough space stations and planets than Michael Bay could fit any explosion in a Transformers trilogy.

Drake and Josh vs. Phineas and Ferb
I also got this from a suggestion. Basically, it's step brothers versus step brothers. Both have their own kinds of shennanigans. Actually, that's about it. A duo versus a duo.

    Grease vs. High School Musical
Okay, why Grease vs. High School Musical? Why not just say, like, Danny Zuko vs. Troy Bolton? Simple. Because I want the entire cast of Grease battling against the entire cast of High School Musical. It's something that hasn't been done before, and would make for an interesting battle.

    Bah!

I hate it when something I get off ebay isn't exactly as described.

I bought a PSP 2000 Battery cover, assuming its for a larger capacity battery, (PSP 2000 has a 1200mAH battery, and the seller described this cover as being meant for a 2400mAH battery. I got a 1800mAH in the moment so I thought, "hey why not get one").

So I get it in the post today aannnd...

Its the same shape as the regular one..

I'd be more ticked off if it didn't cost only £1.50, (I'll keep the cover as a spare I guess), but I still contacted the seller, just to see if they made a mistake or something.
    (Probably not...)

In the meantime I ordered another one (with pictures that clearly show the cover is extended), for £1.50 from another seller (with 100% positive feedback, which is promising), only problem...:

    Its black!

    Piano gloss black! >;/

    I have a silver 2000 PSP.
Oh well, I'll sacrifice looks for function in my devices anyday! XD

I don't usually answer phone calls from 0845 numbers as it's usually some foreign sounding person trying to sell you something you don't want. Well I've been receiving calls from an 0845 number for a few days now and I finally capitulated and answered it. It was my mobile provider who wanted to inform me that my current contract is nearly up and so is up for renewal.

The contract I was on is fairly cheap, £10 a month for 100 minutes and 1000 or so text messages. The guy who called me said that they've noticed that I've got a phone with 3G capabilities and that my plan didn't include any data allowances. So he offered me a new plan with 200 minutes, 5000 text messages and 1GB data allowance a month for £10 a month. Before I could say yes for that he also said if I was happy with the phone I've got (which I am) then he could offer a further discount of £4 a month. So my new plan is for only £6 a month and with more than twice the minutes & text message allowances than before plus a new data allowance. And it's only a 12 month contract instead of my old 18 month one.

    Good deal I thought.

Nice one! Feels good to catch a break hey. :)

I haven't had a phone of my own since the one I got in... uh, probably 2002. Holy crap, that's a whole decade ago!

Very recently I've been looking at smartphones (Galaxy Nexus seems pretty nice) to make it easier to stay in touch with the dude in real time. We used to message pictures back and forth and stuff when we lived in the same city... can't do that now AND he's forever away.

Not sure if I want to fork out that much money though. Lately I've been spending more than usual (due to a few semi-necessary big-ticket items all at once), and I'm feeling like maybe a phone is an unnecessary luxury.

They are a fairly big investment. I don't play games or listen to music on mine, but I do get quite a bit of use out of it with messaging, internet and apps.

Yeah, I costed it up pretty thoroughly and that's what made me hesitate. Even prepaid ends up being a lot, though significantly less than getting a handset on a contract.

Depends on the set and contract. You can luck out with a free phone or a cheap contract if you poke around a bit.

A phone is a phone second, and a portable games/music device for me first! XD

    My phone history:

    - An old useless brick I can't even remember. Didn't really use it.
    - N-Gage - Played loads of symbian games on it. Didn't really use it as a phone
    - N-Gage QD - Lost my old N-Gage at school as a kid. Got this one. Pretty much did the same thing.
    - Didn't get a phone in a loooong while till uni. (Made do borrowing other people's old phones)
    - Nokia 5530 Xpress Music - Not a bad phone. Very small, decent MP3 playback. Pretty much useless for anything else though. Got some phone use. Mostly family and uni work though.
    - iPhone 3GS - Hand me down from my mum. Not bad. Got some games on it. Use it mostly as a music player. Got some phone use. Mostly family and uni.

So yeah.. Not the best one to be talking to about phones really.
Never been on a contract. Had the same pay-as-you-go sim and phone number for years! XD
(Its a good number though. Very memorable)

My older brother is the opposite though.
He uses his phone ALL THE TIME.
    (And everyone else's! XD)

    Gets into trouble over it.

Phones are expensive. I don't really like using them that much.
(Prefer email & Facebook/Steam chat. Free, and quicker most of the time)

EDIT: PSP remote is working great. Clips onto new backpack I bought earlier from Tescos, (Tesco have a promo on luggage at the moment). I was walking around with it all set up for a bit to see if there would be any issues. Doesn't appear to be any at all. (Though with other stuff in on Friday I have to question how well it will do). Shame the backpack has no headphone feed like others do, but I'll just have the cable feed through the zips...

New backpack is just excellent. So comfy. I carried 3 boxes of Cat food Sachets and a box of biscuits in it on the way home from work today, and it didn't strain me in any way. :D

Almost prepared for my walk on Friday. May have to go without a PSP battery cover (well, one that isn't wedged between the PSP and the grip to keep the battery in place! XD), but I'm definately willing to go.

I hope this blister on my foot heals up by then, but if not, I'll pad it with something and go anyway.

I ended up with the prior. These smartphones aren't that cheap. I ended up with an ehhh contract but a free phone. Could have got a free phone with a cheap contract on a newer leeching company, but the network is less reliable and is only available in some places(mostly just major cities). I bit the loss for reliability, if I go travelling, I'd like to be able to use my phone.

IGN just posted a list of Certifiably Insane Video Game Characters.

    {Link}

Looks like our old lagomorphic pal Max made the list.
When most gamers think about the titular Max, the pint-sized rabbit that makes up half of the Sam & Max freelance police duo, they usually think about his violent and impulsive reactions to others. But the truth is that Max is just completely unhinged in general; he is 100% id, doing and saying whatever pops into his head at any moment.

Nice to see that IGN isn't completely made up of idiots.

Awwww! I was talking to mum about buying a smartphone... she said she would get me one as last year's birthday gift. That is way too much to give me!! Maybe ok if it's for last year AND this year.

I think she might feel bad because the family didn't get me anything last year (to be fair, I WAS moving from one continent to another so a physical gift was out of the question), but they did get something for my new sister-in-law on her birthday. I didn't make a big deal out of it but I guess mum could tell I was momentarily hurt by the connotations.

I'm still thinking about it, but that's a big help!
