Why did Shawn leave the Keys in the Tractor?
That, actually, is typical on many family run farms. The key is by itself and always left in the vehicle so that it may be used by anyone at anytime without the need to hunt down the friggin' key for the bloody thing.;)

No, no, no! lol. Just saying they always leave the key in the tractor. It was Shawn's own fault because he put Duck in the drivers seat. Duck is not to blame for Shawn's death because he is only a child and cannot be held responsible for his actions. The responsibility for children falls directly on the adults.

Well it is Herschels Farm so it's his responsibility to make sure accidents like that can't happen. I mean the old man can't be THAT senile yet. and yes i know he didn't expect guests, or zombies, but he did make it family policy to leave the keys in the tractor.

    right here's my 2 cents

duck may not of mean't to trap shaun but he did start thr tractor as any kids would do and yet he put's in gear ? maybe cos he watches his parents driving and copied the motions so by 'playing' farmer he was integral in shauns death as for his responcibility i'd say it's accidental and all duck really did was trap him the zombies killed shaun...

so shaun was 'fixing' the fence for like 5-10 mins tops in one area so what ever limp wristed hammer skills he has where what killed him...i say motion to absolve duck is passed...

kids who have stolen a car and ran someone over what do they usually get charged with ?
  • edited May 2012
Shawn was an accident waiting to happen, really. Had I had the choice, I would have switched the gear back to neutral on that tractor, when Duck clearly switched it off neutral.

And I got to agree with Lars80 - been a paramedic for too long as well...

Following your line of thinking, you could go back and blame the tractor manufacturer for making the contraption in the first place.. or the engine creator for inventing the motor that made the tractor run.. Hell, lets go all the way back to the inventor of the wheel, because if the tractor hadn't had wheels, it would not have been able to roll on top of Shawn. (See what I did here? ;))

There is nothing wrong with having the key in it for use whenever. There is something wrong with putting a 10 year old (or whatever his age) in the driver's seat, when you know the key is in it, and then working in front of it. I mean, c'mon, Shawn.. dur..

Ahhh but what if Herschel put Shawn on the Tractor when Shawn was Ducks age. Then Shawn thought because dad let him do it it'd be ok for him to let duck do it.

At some point you just have to draw the line. lol.

It is not Hershel's fault, even if he did put Shawn on the tractor years ago, he did not put Duck on it. That was all Shawn.

Oh, hell no, I sure don't. I believe all adults are responsible for their own actions.

    Amen!

Shawn had to die due to canon anyway, and tardo Duck def ain't right lol

I wonder how much time will pass in this season?? Maybe a few years so we can kill Duck off as a teen..... lol wishful thinking

Duck seems like a regular little boy to me. Players only hate him because Clem is so awesome in comparison. She's quiet (dear god this is a great trait for a kid), smart, has cute reactions, and beats herself up for getting caught. Duck has the attention-span of a jam doughnut, is terminally stupid, and never shuts up.

I have read all the conversation and I can say I'm really awkward to the fact that no one even mentioned Kenny. In the game I believe that it was Kenny's fault that shawn died, as he didn't even lift a finger to help Lee to push the tractor of off his foot. Truthfully it wasn't Kenny's fault either as eventually it was the designers who designed the game and it was their choice of how they wanted the story to build up. Their story, their idea, their choice. To the discussion about the tractor of having left the keys in it, that is not the way to go about it. Those days many tractors didn't work by keys but by a simple push of a button. You don't see if there were keys or buttons exactly but I assume the tractor functioned by a click of a button. To make my point valid I have evidence for this......Back at the motor inn the car used to bash the zombie with it didn't seem to have any keys in it. Lee just placed the car in reverse and push it.

I hope I made you see all this throughout a different perspective ;)

    Hey guys, new here.

I do not remember anyone called Sherry Birkin in Silent Hill, and I'm a big fan of that IP.

As for Duck, I don't know, he's not that annoying, It would be way worse if he were a teen. However he's just an 8-year-old boy. Even though I DID choose to help Shawn during the tractor scene as he seemed like he could use the help, I wish Duck no harm.
I'm just looking out for the entire group so far, and I do sense tough choices ahead.

Also, how did you guys come to the conclusion that Duck has anykind of mental disability? (Jokes aside)

    Duck is The Catalyst
  • edited June 2012
Please don't go into Mass Effect 3.. I'm still not over it xD.

Good old Laura from Silent hill, she added much to the experience despite being quite annoying at certain moments.

But i don't know.. Duck seems like a normal kid in an abnormal situation... He just aint too bright.. But then if you've ever played an online game you'll find out that most kids nowdays are like that.

To me Duck is what is keeping Kenny go on. If Duck dies, Kenny Dies inside. He will turn out like Andrea in the Tv and Comics show when her sister Amy died
