I found that the workaround from page 3 is good - i had episode 4 installed and could play. Now I'm receiving the weird "you don't own this game - wanna buy it?" message again i had already encountered yesterday. This is most ridiculous! It should probably say: you wanna play this game? steal it! I could be happily play for days now, Telltale! Be sure this was my last purchase and yes, keep ignoring me - your sincerely, a CUSTOMER
I emailed support straight away when i got the connection error, after over 12 hours this is what i got.
Hi,
I do apologize for this problem. We are aware that a small number of players are experiencing this issue, and we are currently investigating a solution. Please ensure you have a strong internet connection and are logged into your Telltale account before attempting the download again. Also, you can try connecting to another network.
Thank you,
Anyone thinking that they can help you.....you're wrong! Same response as always, "we're working on it.....but maybe its your fault "
We just gotta sit and wait like every other time they screw up.
I just knew it would be fixed when i got home today... same error message..says I have no internet connection
_Sounds like more than just a small number of us with this problem
HOLY SHIT BE CAREFUL GUYS.....I think the bit where people are saying that they are being told to re-enter their username and password is FAKE. Since when is the official website called: www.walkingdeadthegame.com ? it's OFFICIALLY CALLED: www.thewalkingdeadgame.com Fishy no ?
even though i'd advise to use a different anti-virus be assured it is not related
NOD32 is the BOMB. Light footprint, gamer mode, highly customizable. As for (temporarily) disabling it, I could not download the episodes otherwise. Placebo? Perhaps, but I'll take it.
Which ever version people with this same downloading problem are using, is most probably the same (or better) version of windows they had used to download all previous episodes. I wonder why you would ask anyone this at this point.
FOLKS start posting this problem to their facebook page, that will make an ugly facebook page and not a good advertisment. IF you are as unhappy as most of you are claiming to be. (TTG suggested mode of obtaining customer support is INEFFECTIVE).
Same issue as everyone else. (im on PC with Windows 7)
Started downloading and got to 25% then cut out, now every time i try it hits 10% and tells me the connection is gone which is utter BS. I turned off my anti-virus and ran as admin, nada. I'm finding the quote in my sig quite appropriate right now.
I was supposed to be up all last night playing this, I had to sleep like some sort of neanderthal.
I received an e-mail from Telltale saying, "We are aware that a small number of players are experiencing this issue," and my response to that is: I don't care if I'm the ONLY one (which I'm clearly not), it needs to be resolved since the problem clearly isn't on my end (I've also downloaded the first 3 episodes without a problem). The e-mail also said, "Please ensure you have a strong internet connection and are logged into your Telltale account before attempting the download again. Also, you can try connecting to another network," and I am logged in, clearly my internet is fine (I'm posting this), and I have no other network other than my home internet connection (is that what that means?).
Well, like many others I have now managed to get to around 30% and then I "lose my connection" and it's right back to 10%. Honestly how is this not fixed yet? I don't care if it's "just a small number of players" the fact is we paid for the game same as everyone else and right now we can't even play what we paid for. I'm so tempted to just buy the game again on steam so I can play episode 4 except I really don't want to reward TT for this with even more money.
The most irritating thing is that they're spending a lot of time on their Facebook page, posting reviews about their game instead of solving this problem. And telling us that the problem involves only a few people, like asserted, seems to me completely false.
Count me and my brother in for being unable to download this too. I wouldn't call everyone who purchased a season pass from the TellTale website 'a few people.'
There isn't just A FEW but there are MANY FEW. I tried countless times and nada/nothing. Eveytime some1 is sending them an email they're always giving the same reply. JUST ADMIT IT'S FROM YOUR END AND JUST DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. I noticed all the facebook feeds yeah, which that include, nothing is being addressed to fix the fuckin problem
I have the same problem, my internet connection is fine, and the download still gives me the same message at around 30% "download Connection lost while downloading data. Please ensure you have a working internet connection and re-attempt download."
I too have never had any problems downloading the first 3 chapters. Please fix this Telltale, because we are clearly many frustratet fans at the moment.
Later...well now suddently it gives me the aforementioned message instantly when It reaches 10% download. Please help!

I know WE are being ignored and you know what ? Remember when TTG posted on their website that they're gonna improve their customer support issue ? Well guess what it has gotten even WORSE. you already posted that mr anderson hehe
First post on this or any other forum for that matter.
I am having the same issue as many others appear to be having. First 3 episodes downloaded and installed fie....ep4 0% and connection error.
I have found the first 3 episodes excellent. For me it has been a unique gaming experience and have no issue waiting for release dates as many seem to have had. I enjoy the fact that i have to wait for the next installment as it ensures that I dont stay up half the night and finish new games before I've even had a chance to fully enjoy them.
I am however, astounded that there has been no official word from Telltale on this issue. In reality I am happy to wait a week for them to sort it out, but for there not to even be a message somewhere saying "we are aware of the problem and are doing everything possible to ensure that it will be sorted as fast as possible" is, to say the least, very frustrating. If there is such a message, if somebody could point me in the right direction it would be most appreciated.
It feels like flying with Easyjet at times. Flights get delayed and there is no official update, so customers become more and more frustrated. I think that 95% of people would be happy to wait as long as they are being kept up to date with developments.
If there is a telltale employee out there, reading these forums, then please take note - you dont have to fix the problem in the next 5 minutes, knowone is going to jump down your throat or follow you home ranting as they go, but please take 2 minutes to advise your customers of why the issue is occuring, what you are doing to sort the issue out and give a rough estimate of how long it will take to remedy.
Many hours have passed and yet still nothing has changed. The repeated message accusing my internet connection of being faulty has begun irritating me anew; an insult to add to the ongoing dissapointment.
Perhaps worse is the lack of update from TellTale, I see their twitter awash with retweets of glowing reviews but no mention of the troubles faced with their own download service. I question their decision to use an in game downloader; is it some poor attempt to stem piracy, or perhaps they intended it as a tool of convenience. If it was the latter then the irony is obvious, if the former then all it did was punish paying customers and further the attractiveness of pirated copies.
How much longer must I be forced to wait? Hours, days, longer? Only time will tell... (or an update from TT would...) Until then I am forced to keep up my blackout of the main forum and carefully avoid the growing mass of "let's players".
If they just said something (and something that wasn't downright derogatory like "a few users") that showed they were working on the issue or what the issue was (like their servers not working or being overloaded) then that would be something. But we get nothing and treated like shit, I want my money back because this is just unacceptable behaviour.
I'm more than a little annoyed myself, I don't give a damn about waiting if there is an announcement, but this is simply bad service, I regret wanting to support Telltale by not buying it through steam
As for me, I'm going to post in every national forum dedicated to adventure games, telling other potential players and customers what's happening. I think that they have to know: the facts; the real quality of the support until now given (better: not given) by the developer; etc.
Add me to the long list of paying customers that cannot download Episode 4 due to the connection issue.
Telltale Games: Please acknowledge the problem, post something somewhere to assure us that it is being addressed, or better yet, fix the problem. My confidence in your company has declined substantially! I have been a gamer for a long, long time and never seen a company treat such a major issue with such silence.
Marking 48 hours that I've been attempting to d/load ep 4 with no result and no response from TTG. I was planning my weekend around this game. That's how addictive it is, shame shame shame TTG for screwing us over.
One would think the least they could do is offer us temporary steam accounts like they did when the game first came out and we couldn't play it. This is ridiculous. Wish I bought it from Steam
I'm also having the same problem. Telltale should be ashamed of themselves.
I also bought it here to support them. But are they supporting us? Nope, they aren't! They better fix this soon!
What I (and others) find ridiculous, is that you can't download the episodes seperately, like how it used to be. The in-game downloader is a bad idea and it's incredibly slow (when it works)!
The least they can do, is give us a free season disc of Season 1 (they should, anyway), for this frustrating ordeal!

No response from TTG... how surprising.
What a piece of shit.
How did you manage it to make it work ?

I would do this but Im not sure how..at this point i will try anything. Im glad you were able to download it

download everything, place it in the folder then it jumps to 100% right away
even though i'd advise to use a different anti-virus be assured it is not related

Right-click on your Walking Dead icon and click "Run as Administrator".
Any more suggestions? (I'm already pissed about it!)

I start the game, connect to telltalegames, try to download TWD and at 0.00% I get the "connection lost" error.
Episode 2 and 3 worked this way. Episode 4 not. This is a problem generated by TTG and has to be solved by them.
I feel very bad about the people here being ignored!

That is all most of us are asking for.
Thanks for your help.
