When did you realize Sarah was not

  • After Carlos died, I knew she was pretty much done for. She broke down over everything anyway, but after that she pretty much died. Carlos should not have sheltered her like he did. "She'll die a little girl if you treat her like one" -Chuck

  • Sarah was trying to cope with her dad dying by insisting to her self he wasn't dead, but she knew he was. And just when she was starting to snap back into reality, she was killed off. Even if you send Jane down to help her, she still dies and Jane still lives. I realized I couldn't save her when she died after I did everything possible. As for her mental state, I don't think she was too far gone to bring back.

That's fucked up in my opinion, having the choices mean so little, and for a character Clementine was entrusted to protect by Carlos. I would have at least liked to have Clementine hop down and try her self to help.

  • yeah, when carlos died was really when it was over for her, i don't think sarah was ever capable of looking after herself, i bet she needed constant supervision before the apocalypse let alone once it started, i think carlos did the best he could with her, because sarah was never going to self reliant even if he didn't shelter her

  • When I read that one of the leaked choices made her determinant.

  • I think he is talking about when Carver made Carlos hit Sarah and she was blaming her dad for hitting her.

What are you talking about? Blamed Carlos for what?

Same here. I had some hope that she might return to reality at some point. :/

  • The thing is, I think she was savable. When she died if you saved her earlier she wants to be saved and stuff, unlike earlier when she was kind of just waiting to die.

  • Agreed. I teared up, especially after she said "Clementine?"

Why did they have to make her death so sad? She was screaming for Clementine to help her and pleading to the walkers not to eat her. That was the first death in season 2 that I teared up.

  • I personally thought that Sarah was mentally handicapped the first time I saw her in episode 1, she was 15, but she seemed to be stuck on a lower grade of devellopment, around 5 or something like that (there are some other indicators too, like when she has to cut the flowers in episode 3 and simply can't). I always interpreted Carlos' behaviour in that way too and am still not convinced she was "normal". I realized that she would eventually die right after she was introduced in episode 1, when Carlos tells Clementine to leave her alone because she's not like her. I just thought it was a piss-poor way to kill her off, after I went through so much to keep her alive, even pursuaded her to come along in that motorhome.

  • Yes, she screamed for help, which was the most responsive she had been since Carlos died. She was actually coming around a bit, and had also yelled to warn Clementine that the zombies had shown up, too. Sarah was savable up until Telltale killed her.

  • When I was given no "true" option to save her. I'm slightly mad they didn't even give me the choice to even really try and even more angry about the situation related. The whole thing makes the other characters feel inhuman to me and I feel that I can not related to any of the characters anymore.

Well,I realized that when she got eaten...... I didn't just give up on people but.....yeah....you know what happened.

  • I knew she wasn't going to mentally recover when she talked about Carlos being alive too. But I chose to have Jane save her anyway. I was reminded of this exchange from Game of Thrones:

think Carlos done a pretty good job as a one parent family keeping Sarah pure when others were going to extreme lengths,if he would of Lived Longer no doubt he would of taught Sarah more about what was happening around her.

  • Theres an option to save Jane? he dont need any help from me when i played.
The point here was only abandon or stay with Sarah, right?

  • Well, pretty much after you were able to kill her in the beginning I knew.

  • I realized that in "All that remains"...

  • Yes, about 14-15?

  • She was savable, she just needed time. She was out of the whole not moving thing, and she wanted to live, so there was hope for her. The Telltale decided to kill her in such a terrible scene that it could have been avoidable.

  • I knew she was gooing to die the moment i got the option to save her or leave her at the trailer park. I just didn't imagine her hour would've come in the very same episode

You know, it took Clem some time as well to accept her parents were dead.About 5 months since Lee and her got together? No matter how many times you tell her that her parents didn't make it in Season one, she always gets upset and starts crying on the spot.

I mean, the whole reason she got kidnapped by the Stranger and set in motion the events that killed Lee was because she could not accept that her parents were dead.

"They're not dead! Do you want them to be??"

You know, it was literally day one after Sarah's dad died and she still wasn't quite over it yet. I didn't interpret that as a sign she was going to die. Clementine probably related to that and understood what she was going through. Do people just forget about season one or something?

    Dat freak accident, though.

  • Ahah yeah. I suppose she just wasn't meant to survive the zombie apocalypse.

  • That's what would have happened to Clem,if they've never met Chuck.

Just blame Carlos for sheltering his daughter instead of making her toughen up.

  • I knew she could. She already was. In both of her death scenes she doesn't want to die and she moves along and does things without having to be forced. She wasn't insane, she was just trying to cope with her father whom she was immensely attached to dying right in front of her.

I realized I couldn't save her when she died after I did everything possible. As for her mental state, I don't think she was too far gone to bring back. Same here. I had some hope that she might return to reality at some point.

  • Welcome to the Walking Dead :) where everybody that you trying to save ending up dead either way.

  • Clem didn't see her parents die. Hell, Lee didn't see her parents die. All he heard was Clem mother's desperately telling her to get to safety through an answering machine. He had good reason to believe her dad died, but he still doesn't know it for a fact and could show Clem no proof that they died.

Sarah saw her father killed in front of her with her own two eyes, went into a catatonic state, was briefly snapped out of it, and then immediately regressed to a delusion that her father was coming back and that they would all be cable to go back to the cabin again. When Clem tries to talk to her about it, she started shaking and stopped responding to her altogether.

Clem thinking her parents were still alive was hopeful optimism and was within the bounds of what she knew to be fact. Sarah thinking her dad was alive was a direct rejection of the reality presented to her.
