All the characters were relevant until Kenny arrived,is just that the writers prefered fan-service rather than developing the other interesting characters(well Alvin didn't do much in ep1 but still)

  • People who like her have way better reasons than 'lol keny is cr@p'.

I haven't even seen one, and I get people trying to explain their reasons a lot to me because I dislike Jane.

  • Jane had enough screentime in Episode 4.

Writers made Episode 4 mostly all about Jane for the Jane vs. Kenny in the finale

  • Exactly my point! What I say shouldn't matter to anyone else. Who am I to you? No one! Do any word's or opinion's of mine matter to you in the slightest bit? No, unless YOU let them.

And yes I said that behind a screen because this is where we all are at the moment and all I can offer you is my word in that if face to face I would speak the same words.

I'm not disagreeing or insulting anyone, I am simply stating my fact. take it for what it's worth!

  • First of all, the OP meant "Jane is overshadowing the rest of the cast, similar to how Kenny did". I feel embarrassed to have to point that out now, because the OP also already CLARIFIED that.

Second, the rest of the cast was overshadowed because they didn't have much personality. Not even your pretty boy, Luke. (When do pretty boys ever have personality beyond being pretty? Come on). Can't help that Kenny was "Friend of Lee" and "Family Man" and "Druken Brawler" and "Oh shit, I'm sorry, Ben. I actually have enough sense to admit when I'm wrong when you point it out clearly like that". If other characters had defining traits like this, it would be different. But they didn't. As for Jane... well she was a jerk. But different than from Larry. She was a mindgaming jerk.

Third, people side with Jane because most people are idiots.

It's a good thing that people have different opinions, because in the long run it's a bad thing for the game series, which is based on choices, if everyone makes the same choices.

  • Glad to know I'm not the only one who liked both (a lot) and still stuck with Kenny to the end. Seems like most people who liked both ended up with Jane or alone (because they felt betrayed by whoever survived).

I actually liked both Jane and Kenny. However in the end I went with Kenny and allowed Jane to die for the following reasons: I was annoyed

  • overshadowed characters like Kenny

I think you mean how Kenny overshadowed everyone else.

  • People like Jane cause she's not a psychotic redneck asshole reject from "Deliverance."

And because she has showed more emotions in one scene than "Angry/Sad" did the entire franchise. Almost like she is a believable character complete with flaws and conflicting morals...

  • Here's a list of characters in Season 2 that at least had some resemblance of genuine character traits...

    -Clementine

    -Jane

Everyone else was about as convincing as a Styrofoam cup. And about as likable too.

  • Though to be fair they started degrading the worth of the other characters in S2 before heeven stepped on screen (not that I'm saying bringing him back wasn't fan service).

  • I would add Carver to that list. I liked him and I thought that he had rather interesting personality. Too bad that he died before we had time to explore in detail what kind of mentor he would have been to Clem.

  • I don't think most people saw that clarification. I didn't at first. Also, the characters might have and would have developed more personality if Kenny hadn't become the focus of the season. We already learned all we needed to know about him. And so everyone who sided with Jane over Kenny is an idiot? Okay. ::big eye roll::

  • Wasn't it awesome when she turned away a starving family just because she wasn't willing to share? I personally clapped and cheered when she pulled a gun on the boy and snarled a one-liner.

Being a selfish paranoiac is so badass!

But Flog, murder may be bad. But if a little girl does it, its way cooler!

and was even more shocked when almost 100 % of the players chose her.

I'm sorry, what? "chose" her? r you insane my man? Kenny had a fucking knife pointing at her chest, ready to penetrate, did you saw that as a "lets pick..." choice? it was a matter of saving someone's life or letting that person die.

Now most people that killed Kenny would agree with this.

While Kenny fans be just like: "Fuck Jane. In Kenny we trust. 'it was a fight to the death' and Clementine decided the outcome."

    I dislike both characters.

Because opinions thats why. Let's leave it at that.

  • Yes but those skills make her a badass. when I call Molly a badass I mean she has those skills.

Not to mention Molly's amazing parkour skills and cool ice pick.

  • It doesn't matter but I do take umbrage to being called an idiot for siding with Jane over Kenny.

Its simple; Kenny, Jane and clem did all the badass scenes in S2. im a kenny and Jane fan. she did more actions them a lot of caracters, she taught clem new tricks to survive, i liked her development. Clem, Kenny and Jane are my TOP 3 characters of S2. She killed the asshole Troy, ( I wanted to kiss her after that, lucky luke read my mind...... Oh wait.... there was no time for kissing :3) helped the group to escape , saved Kenny clem (determinant) lifes, Thats enough for me to like her a lot

  • Well yeah I agree, I didn't like Jane and felt Clementine should "stay out of it no matter what happened" like she insisted and wished. Besides she was willing to let Sarah die so the strong can survive right?, by letting her die she sort of got small taste of her own doctrine. Molly was cold like Jane but to me Molly had slightly more heart and sense.

If it were Molly fighting Jane I believe Molly & "Hilda" would had mopped the snow with Jane. And it might of been a tougher decision for the player as well because those two characters behave similar and it wouldn't have been the fact that Molly was around for the majority of 2 seasons or the fact that she was a man trying to kill a woman which also I believe contributed to players killing Kenny to prevent Jane's demise.

Kind of like the Doug or Carly choice. Majority saved Carly seeing as how she's a woman in distress and not just any woman. A portrayed attractive woman who's a expert shooter. While Doug is portrayed as the chubby "parents basement" nerd. Even though Doug had multiple walkers grabbing him and in a more hazardous predicament and With the probably majority male players of this game who do you think is more likely to save who? Especially when they were possibly hoping Lee would "score" later on in the game with Carly as if this was the Mass Effect franchise.... Now Luke vs Kenny might of been predictable but it would had made much more sense than Jane vs Kenny. To me, It was almost as though Jane and Kenny got highly hostile at each other near the end for no reason at the last minute just so the player could make a final big choice.
