  • So much hype after watching that interview. Firstly, Clementine confirmed for Season 3, fucking awesome, but I'm extremely curious as to what those "comic elements" are? I wonder if that means we'll see comic characters at some point in the game (maybe we'll see Magna before she eventually finds Rick's group), or maybe a character from this game eventually works their way into the comics. I don't really know, all I know is that Clementine will definitely be in Season 3, and that's all that matters to me.

  • Don't know how to feel about this, skipping so many years is skipping years worth of her story that could go through many seasons. This also makes season 2 completely irrelevant and skippable since it was just a random week in her life where she just met some random idiots and random bad guys and blah blah.

    Still can't wait to see her again tho ;_;

  • About two years after Season 2, so Clem will be 13 and might be close to her 14th birthday (which is in October)

Hmm, so this will be practically a few years, I'm not exactly sure how many, into the future. Which means whichever ending you picked, Clem

We're very protective of this girl as a fandom, aren't we? I trust Telltale to handle it well.

  • You know, as much as this time skip seems boycottable for some, I think this is a good idea. Her growing up and gaining more skills is a little more easy to write. With her being around 13 or 14, her doing such impossible jobs like holding the doors while walkers are pushing them or kicking off a trailer's door seems less unbelievable.

I'm just bummed out because we probably won't see her adapting to the places she is at depending on whichever ending you picked.

  • Looks like I'm not buying. I don't want to play as Clementine. >_>

  • They never confirmed you were playing as her - she could just as easily be a side character.

  • Depending on how our endings and other choices from Season 2 affect Season 3, you can't really say yet that Season 2 is skippable or irrelevant. Yes it does sound like there will be another time jump, but based on what Telltale has said, especially in the Mashable interview with Bruner, it seems like the endings are going to play a considerable role in Season 3.

  • Rick for season 3 cameo

  • I just hope they don't go down the same road as Season 2 where they make her act nihilistic and edgy.

There was some Season 3 interview with Kevin Bruner a while back where he said the Season 2 endings will definitely be important for Season 3. Even though we learned today there will be a time skip, I'm not entirely sure they are just going to sweep the endings under the carpet. He hinted they would use a new technique to handle those choices that they had not used in previous Telltale stories.

  • Yeah, I believe Telltale knows they set the bar high and they won't just throw the endings outside the window.

I'm just sayin' that we'll probably enter the game with Clementine already full grown to Howe's or Wellington's. With the Kenny and alone endings, maybe she'll still be travelling.

But all scenarios can actually be done right. I have huge faith in Telltale.

  • I wouldn't mind that just as long as their is a new protagonist. Heck I'd settle for how they did the tales from the Borderlands protagonists

They never confirmed you were playing as her - she could just as easily be a side character.

  • I would not want them to overuse Telltale games having multiple protagonists just because they can; I'd rather they save that for stories where having multiple protagonists is genuinely important to the story.

  • Always said i'd be happy either way and I am. Even though Clementine seemed done as a main character at end of season 2, I still trust the writers to deliver.

  • All the salty tears of butthurt TWD fans who hate on telltales other franchises because "ih want me walkin ded" keep me from being thirsty.

Also good job @MetallicaRules smacking sense into idiots in the comment section of the interview, if they're even capable of sense.

  • Well I'm sure they'll still sell a crapton of copies.

Looks like I'm not buying. I don't want to play as Clementine. >_>

  • I thought that had stopped some time around Thrones and Borderlands. I'm surprised there are still people that complain about Telltale focusing on [gasp] things that are not Walking Dead.

  • Whether Clem will be the playable character in season 3 or not I don't care. I'm just happy that she will be in season 3. It wouldn't have made any sense if Clem didn't appear in season 3. This story was always about Clem

  • well i hope its not so much like season 2. i kinda wish TT would do the most for this season, like 6 episodes two protagonist and just longer episodes. with six episodes maybe they can focus one episode that sets up all the shit and then in the second or in the end of the episode they d the time skip and then boom season set up.

    idk..

  • I love em all.

  • More episodes does not always equal better, but I will definitely agree with wanting longer episodes.

As for multiple protagonists, I don't want Telltale running that idea into the ground; I'd rather they save games with multiple protagonists for when it fits the source material and/or story. If every game has multiple protagonists, people will get tired from it.

    Rick for season 3 cameo

  • How long are the Borderlands episodes? I've only played the first one but it seemed about 2.5 hours. Seemed a good length.

  • For Borderlands and Thrones, average episodes were around 1 hour 50 minutes or so. It's not significantly longer than the previous 1 hour 30 minutes, but it does help some and the episodes don't feel as rushed.

I think that aiming for episodes around 2 or so hours would be a good compromise. I get wanting one-sitting episodes and I don't mind that in theory, but Telltale's definition of one-sitting comes off as a little too extreme for my liking at times when we get stuck with 90 minute episodes (or less) on average for some of the previous series before Tales/Thrones.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought you didn't even like S2, so wouldn't that technically be a good thing

It means you can act like S2 never happened, and get away with it

On the forums, no it's not that bad. On social media like Youtube and Facebook, it's a goddamn cancer.

I hope S3 being around the same time frame as the comics doesn't mean another huge time skip. I prefer to actually see what happens, get some character development and that would also make the game longer. Plus if they do another huge time skip where Clementine acquires more skills off screen, there will be a lot of angry people.

The way he words it is also a bit worrying "checking in" makes it sound more like a cameo or something.

Then again, they vaguely said that Kenny's fate would 'be explored' in S2. This 'exploration' ended up as Kenny being a main character in S2

Oh man, that news is getting me really excited!

  • Now the question remains if clem is going to be PC, I Hope so! Plz Telltale

  • Oh this is such great news. Checking in on Clementine, freaking awesome. I can't wait to see what else Kirkman was talking about in S3.

  • Also, for comics being "linked" more in Season 3, maybe Claudia from Alien will appear, I mean its a way to continue that story and more realistic, because I highly doubt she would ever find Rick.

May I ask what's wrong with having Clem as a possible PC?

Looks like I'm not buying. I don't want to play as Clementine. >_>

  • Yeah. To me "checking in" means just that we're going to see what's going on with her. That seems to me to imply she's at least a major character, if not the PC.

    Boring, unrelatable, overpowered, and uninteresting.

Very few people feel that way. To me she's more relatable than almost anyone else in the comic or tv show.
