Spoiler: Did You Kill The Traitor?

  • I killed Duncan without hesitation. He endangered House Forrester and betrayed their trust by spying for Lard, and his reasoning was beyond stupid. Not only that, but he released Gryff and the rest of the Whitehill garrison. I am not going to risk keeping that backstabbing scumbag alive

I spared Royland, but gave him a good punch first. I
I REALLY wanted to kill him, but I thought it would be best for Asher and the others if I spared him since he has some information (whether true or not), and so I did.

  • I killed Duncan, but then felt like I could have gotten a different ending if I spared him.

  • Royland was my traitor and I killed him. I never much cared for him because he was reckless.

Also his reasons were silly. He turned his back on the entire family for what? He put them in danger for silly excuses.

  • Only a traitor covers for a traitor.

thats actually what i was thinking, if their actually covering for someone else that explain why is so contradictory their betrayal. but it would need a detailed explanation.

  • Spared Duncan. Even though he betrayed my House, he didn't fully. The North Grove is still a secret.

  • I have two playthroughs. In the first the traitor was royland and I sparred him. In the second it was Duncan and I killed him. (I don't know about you guys but Duncan seemed like a way bigger asshole as the traitor than royland. Maybe I was use to roylands intense personality, but Duncan was just so mean. So I stabbed him in the heart)

  • It could have been Duncan too? What a load of horsepoop. I'll find another thread for this outrage.

But yeah, I did. I killed Royland. He was spouting a lot of 'you're not a good lord' etc, 'Asher would have been decent even if he killed me,' and personally that would have tipped me over the edge. He's all but begging to die by then, and I could see Rodrick wanting to prove that he could do what must be done in front of everyone. His reason for turning traitor was pushing him further toward death, too. And saying that 'if you kill me, your friend's gonna get it bad' is the poorest defense you can make when you don't have a knife at anyone's throat and when the enemy doesn't care for the safety of their spy.

After making that choice, here's what I add to my reasoning. His reasons and his hardened disposition make me think that even after the war was won, he couldn't be trusted to go along with the persuasion that everything's right as rain. He'd try to 'make things right' and get what he felt would be the right man for the seat of House Forrester, and in the coming winter, he'd likely starve to death in a cell, catch pneumonia, or freeze. That's the harsh reality.

This is, like, the second discussion you've made where you put spoilers in the title...

  • I think they are saving the beheading for Ludd Whitehill. My dream last scene is to behead Ludd Whitehill and as his head hits the ground the episode/season cuts to black.

Stabbed the shit out of Duncan. I would have preferred a beheading but whatever...

  • I spared Royland and remembered that he said "I would swear to Asher if he were here". Then I saved Asher. I'm hoping he swears to obey Asher and help in the war. Then I cut his traitor head off

  • Duncans reasoning was awful wasn't it?

    Moondogg22 posted: »

Duncan's reasoning was something I'd expect out of a person with brain damage, but I let him live. After I punched him in the face.

  • Hell yeah, I stabbed Duncan right in the chest as soon as the option popped up on screen, fuck that guy.

  • Nope I was about to kill him but he said that he knew somethin about Asher so I just arrested him. But yes he's obviously not sorry for what he did... I will problably kill him with Asher (I saved Asher yes...) now if I have the chance

  • Gave Duncan a punch because he underestimate Rodrik and said Rodrik ruin the House of Forrester
but i can't kill him because Gared , so i imprisoned him

  • Um guys? I seen the episode and something about Talia still doesn't feel right. Tell Tale knows that there will be a plot twist in the finale revealing that Talia was the real traitor and used Duncan/Royland to do her will of being in charge on behave of her lost brother Ethan. Duncan/Royland knew that if they told Rodrik the truth about Talia he'd be upset and have no other choice but to punish her. Since she's just a kid they decided to take the blame and get punished. Talia was also the one who let that other dude out his cell and getting her family killed. Her plot to get revenge for Ethan is getting everyone killed.

Don't believe me just watch. By the end of the game Talia will be the only one left in the family and the enemies will have no other choice but to surrender to her or die.

Talia is the true traitor! Just look at how she wanted them to be killed right away and showed no remorse! She might be a kid but dammit she''s one sneeky little brat lol

  • She seems to have picked that trait up from her mother. She seems to be quite blood thirsty too given the chance.

I didnt kill him; a) Because Im hoping they werent the true traitor and were covering for someone (explains their shit excuses) b) Talia has preferred violence lately and I dont like that. c) They might redeem themselves

  • I kind of wish we had the choice to send him to the wall. A quick death is too easy for what either one did.

Yes, I did. That bitch Duncan deserved to die and I was soo pleased by killing him!

  • Sorry maybe it is not actually this topic about but, which decisions makes Duncan or Royland traitor? Does it only depends on choosing sentinel or something else/more?

  • edited July 2015

That would explain the absolutely dire reasoning behind either ones betrayal. They might of been protecting her. It's a good theory as Talia seems to be seen as a silly child, yet she's expressed desire to help and used her child like behaviour to twist words to her advantage.

Um guys? I seen the episode and something about Talia still doesn't feel right. Tell Tale knows that there will be a plot twist in the final

  • Were there two traitors?I thought only Duncan was the traitor! What makes this difference?

  • Depends who you make sentinel. That's why it's so weak in the story.

  • Wow that's realy what wasn't expected. Realy weak. But royland said about not taking soldiers to highpoint..... And other bad choises. Maybe they mattered too?

Yeah, but that's what makes it even worse. Say if you make Duncan your sentinel, but still listen to Royland most of the time, he'll still betray you. lol. Unless their covering for someone and making terrible excuses, I can't see how TT thought this was good. It makes more sense for it to be the mom concerned about her son or the maseter losing faith in the house etc.

Not before seeing the Forresters walking away from a random explosion.

I killed him because I just don't even care anymore, it made absolutely zero sense and like and felt absolute cop-out, I'm pretty much done with this game now, I'll just play the final episode and never touch it again because it's obvious the writers don't even care anymore, it was a stupid twist.

  • First time i enjoyed killing Duncan as i hate the man and his face. the second i didn't kill royland as i like him and Couldn't bring myself to press x or w,e.

  • Nah I spared Royland because I needed the information really badly to save Asher

  • Yes i did, and i think he deserved more than just a sword through the stomach.

    He did too much damage.

  • edited July 2015

First I did, then I rewound and saw if not killing him had any impact. Nope, it didn't save anyone. I left him alive for the next episode. Maybe Duncan Tuttle will come in handy because Royland doesn't know about the north grove.

  • The traitor is the person who you didn't chose as sentinel.

Sorry maybe it is not actually this topic about but, which decisions makes Duncan or Royland traitor? Does it only depends on choosing sentinel or something else/more?

  • I didn't kill Duncan - he had info on Asher.

  • That would be a good twist, but I would hate for Talia to be the real traitor.

Um guys? I seen the episode and something about Talia still doesn't feel right. Tell Tale knows that there will be a plot twist in the final

  • Killed Royland

  • The traitor is the person you least side with. Who you choose as sentinel may have nothing to do with it.

  • Yes i kill the traitor

  • wanted to kill traitor Duncan to make Gared QQ

  • I guess your diplomacy was as important as sentinel fake minor choice. If you choose war like me,Then Duncan is traitor and friendly diplomacy makes it the opposite.I'm happy that Royland wasn't my traitor! I had to kill Duncan.I didn't know I was going to F one minute later!
