If you decided to kill the walker, her arm will remain infected. Therefore, in order to save her life, it needs to be cut off as soon as possible with something clean, and I don't really think they will have the time to do it properly. In this scenario, by the time they eventually cut her arm/hand off, it'll probably be too late. Not to mention the doctor, Carlos, is (unfortunately) dead, which makes things even worse.
If you decided to cut it off immediately, I actually think this makes it even worse. First of all, most of the people who did this are forgetting the fact that the hatchet Clementine used was FULL of walker blood. I hope you people realize what this means. You basically saved her life and doomed her again. You destroyed the infection and in the process infected her again. So it's re… [view original content]
Cut it off in a split second decision. There was no time to argue or ask whether it was the right call or not. Either she loses the arm, or has absolutely no chance. Even if she dies, a quick and (relatively) painless death from shock and blood loss beats a prolonged, agonizing death from infection any day of the week.
She remains infected if you cut off part of her arm. You just cut it off with a hatchet full of walker blood. You destroyed the initial infection and in the process infected her again. It's no good. It's actually worse than the other option, because at least in the other scenario she doesn't bleed profusely in the middle of a walker horde.
Basically, you cut part of her arm off for nothing.

I cut Sarita's arm off the SECOND I saw the option. Now to think about it after seeing your opinions I feel pretty bad about it and her scream is going to follow me in my nightmares for a looooong time. But, the most ironic thing about it is that it's not a save/doom decision. The decision is actually " How Sarita WILL die? From blood loss and pain shock or from the bite?". Unfortunately Sarita is pretty much doomed no matter what we do.
I chopped her arm off. Killing the zombie instead and not doing something about her arm at the moment of the bite would have been equivalent to just running away and not saving her at all in my opinion.

Really? Do you really think that? Because if you do, wow...
Clementine killed like 3 walkers with that same hatchet seconds before she cut Sarita's arm with that same hatchet. She plunged it deep into their skulls and seconds after cut Sarita's arm with it. Come on man.
I chopped it off... but are we sure it's going to save her? I noticed that Clem's ax most likely had a lot of walker blood on it from the looks, and if that blood got into the wound, that's about as bad as being bit, right?
If Sarita has any chance at all, the arm had to come off right there and then. We know from Lee that even a strong person will be taken down by a bite's infection after not too long. The only chance Sarita has - and I hope she has one! - was for her to lose the arm.
Characters have spread the stuff all over their bodies with no issue. They have ripped open walkers and pulled through their organs while using their bare hands. Clem constantly gets walker blood all over her face. If the blood was truly so contagious people would be getting infected from it.
It's not wishful thinking. I honestly don't even care much for Sarita. Your "logic" simply does not have a lot of ground to stand on. You're simply speculating.

This is logic. Stop with the wishful thinking.
The walker bite kills you because of an overwhelming amount of nasty, but mundane, bacteria (not an "undead virus") that walkers carry as dead people (particularly in their mouths). This in turn kills you via a nasty, but mundane, infection. All people become walkers when they die. So walker blood does not necessarily infect you. In theory, everyone is already infected. Any kind of death turns you into a walker. It could very well be that there's less deadly bacteria in walker blood than what's in their bite.

No,he gets tortured all episode by Carver in Carvers torture chair. At the end,he saves you Rambo style, but dies.Instead of knocking something to stop the guy from coming in carvers office, the guy goes in and Alvin shoots him and gets shot. There ;)
I cut Sarita's arm off. And if Alvin survived episode 2, he is beaten by Carver and he covers for you while you escape after setting off the speaker system and is shot by a guard
I do the same, but then I was thinking about Carlos, he is pretty much dead already so We don't have a doctor... Also Clem kills some walkers with the axe, so the axe is infected with walker's blood and that remind me the comic... all the Negan thing and the infected weapons :(
I cut it off as soon as the option popped up. She got bitten, and if she wanted to live that arm had to come off one way or another. I really hope she lives, and not just for Kenny. I like her.

She still stands a very good chance at dying here, anyway. If the herd doesn't overpower her, the gore covered blade that Clementine used to sever the limb sure as Hell guarantees that she'll be infected, regardless (unless, somehow, walker blood does not carry the virus). There's also the fact that they have nothing to staunch the blood, stitch/cauterize the wound or dress it. Again, a risk of infection or bleeding out is very high.
The only way she may stand a chance to live is if she runs back to the compound and begs for treatment (they may help her, as those who knew that the group were attempting an escape are already dead or switched over).
Well, it took me a little bit, but, i finally decided to cut it off. I thought maybe she could be saved and at least Kenny would understand what I tried to do. After all, (and this is determinant), he did cut off Lee's arm. God damn it, though, it was hard to do it. I hope Sarita survives.

Didn't Reggie say that Mike cut off his arm and fixed it up while Clem was looking around in the yard? As long as they can treat it quick maybe Mike can save her.
That is in no way medically accurate. Infection doesn't just come out in blood. And, it'll already be in the severed hand because it was bit… moreten by a walker. It will cross contaminate, killing her, and the choice will most likely affect how Kenny will react to how you reacted. He'll either thank you for trying to save her (cutting it off) or scold you for letting her die (killing the walker).
Another thing, if Sarita does miraculously survive that bite, and you cut the arm off, Carlos is dead, so who is gonna fix up her arm?
i had to jump at the opportunity of lopping her arm off, the slow-mo sequence leading up to it was great. i was pretty pissed that Sara wouldn't get her act together and panicked running of and leaving everyone else behind. kenny talking a big game in the truck then getting knocked out when the truck stopped was pretty damn funny too.

When she screams, I realize that might not have been the best choice...

But in this, apparently it's completely fine.
So I don't think Sarita's going to get infected.
But there is a chance that she would die of blood loss...
