Thats kind of how I felt but the choice was happening so fast so I forgave her. Even after everything my Clem is still that person who gives people second chances.
Kind of...but that doesn't justify leaving a baby in the freezing cold. Think about it from Clementine's perspective. She just gunned down… more the closest thing she had to a loved one, thinking there was no choice. Then Jane ups and tell her that she was lying and Clem has to deal with the fact that Kenny died for nothing. Wouldn't you feel unbelievably hurt and betrayed?
Clementine is angry, confused and heartbroken; certainly in no state to think about it rationally and try to understand why Jane did it. I did what I thought my Clementine would've done and refused to forgive her.
tl;dr: I understand where she was coming from, but had to assume that Clem doesn't.
I still think she left the baby. I mean it was not safe there. I have no idea why she was trying to do a "lesson" at the wrong time. Trying to manipulate Clem. In my opinion she is way more dangerous than Kenny because she likes to make other people crack. Most of her dialogue was about control. Most of the time she was talking about how unreliable others were and back chatting everyone...same ad Luke. It got very annoying.
It really frustrated me because I was already agreeing with her. I was this close to saying yes... He's even scaring me. We should leave before it gets worse because it will.
Jane you didn't have to do anything! I could see how unhinged Kenny was getting! I was on your side! What you did just made it all worse!
From her point of view, Clementine was destroying herself going along with and apologizing for all of Kenny's violent behavior and stubbornn… moreess to cooperate outside of his very rigid parameters, or even cede a point to a group in agreement on what direction to take, even if Clem herself brings it up. Jane was beginning to actually care for Clem (after she swore off caring for pretty much anything other than herself) and did the only thing she could think to do in the situation she was given in order to save her new friend's life of torment.
I don't understand how nobody can sympathize with her. A bit cool and distant, but not prone to violent fits. A young girl who lost her sister and swore off ever having to lose someone again, only for strange little girl, who she sees a little of her old sister in, to make her actually start caring again. Kenny's story is equally as tragic, but I fail to see how her rash decision in this particular matt… [view original content]

I totally understand why she did it. But here's the ironic part. She didn't even have to do it. I could see it coming a mile away that Kenny was losing it. No.... That would imply he had it to lose. He was unreasonable in season 1 most of the time! He obsessed about a boat and now Wellington... He always gets extremely angry with anyone who disagrees with him. I spent the whole time asking everyone to stop arguing and it was always everyone else arguing with Kenny. I just saw Wellington as the boat happening all over again. Doesn't matter if its actually real. We don't know that unless you let him kill Jane. And i couldn't do it. I couldn't sit there and let him kill someone for a mistake. Even if Wellington is real what happened with Jane will happen again and it might be Clem … [view original content]
No fucking way you're going to side with that...that SHITBIRD that fucking PISSANT. God I love Kenny and human processes that are also creatures. For real Jane fucked up she didn't have to handle it the way she did. Why show up? Why not give him the baby and run? Maybe to protect Clem but that wasn't the way to do it. But Kenny isn't in the clear either. As you hear in the join Wellington ending he acknowledged he was broken that's why I let him leave. I couldn't do it to the kid. There's no telling what he would've done if I left with him become bandits probably.
Thats the second time someone compared it to Lee. Jane would never have to do something like this to prove to Clem how crazy Lee is lol. Lee wouldn't give her any reason to! Hell that combination would be the perfect place for all of them. 2 very capable adults with Clem... Nothing bad will happen to that baby now!
I understand why Jane did it. She wanted Clementine to see what lengths Kenny would go to in his rage and she was trying to show her the Ken… moreny that Clementine knew wasn't there anymore; to open her eyes and not be held back because of her past with Kenny.
But wow, did she go about it wrong. Telling Kenny—a guy who has not only lost two of his loved ones but his own son, his own child!—that the baby he's taken responsibility of is now dead, and then not even making it clear that she wasn't the one who killed it...
It's just wrong. Plain wrong. You replace Kenny with someone else, Lee for example, and I doubt he'd react much better. He wouldn't have killed her, but he probably would have been damn well close to.
I would've liked a little more. Like I'm angry but I'll give you a 2nd chance because thats how I've always played it with Clem.
To Jane's credit she doesn't manipulate Clem in the end. A family of survivors show up and she expresses how it might turn out like before but she doesn't fight you if you chose to let them in.
For me, it was never about moral high grounds. It was about her making me shoot a good friend so she could prove a bloody point. It was abou… moret not letting Jane continue to manipulate Clem/you any longer. I won't lie, I briefly considered the option of going with her, but it just left a sour taste in my mouth. To just say "OK, I forgive you, let's ride off into the sunset" after she manipulated Kenny into attacking her, knowing full well how much he cared for the baby's well-being and his quick his temper goes off. Would do the same thing if I was in that situation, even if it meant my or the baby's death. But Clementine has been taking care of herself and the baby for nine whole days, and proves she can make it far on her own. Kenny wasn't a perfect guy, far from it but I'd rather have had him at my side than Jane any day.
Thats why I can't understand the Kenny people on this. "she manipulated him into it" Yea to avoid it from him doing something even worse. I believe she thought she could handle Kenny. Subdue him or knock him out. Maybe just make him get tired out so they can leave him behind or something. I don't think for one second she purposely wanted her or Kenny to die as a result of that. She made a stupid move but if she hadn't done it I put 50 bucks on him doing it to Clem in the future for any number of reasons.
What kind of logic is that?
The question about her point isn't touched in any way by the question if she was honest or not. She showed th… moreat Kenny goes loose when he feels like it, even if he has no justification. He doesn't need any and that's exactly what Jane has proven to be true with Kenny.
Leaving Wellington with Kenny is by far, without doubt, the worst and most ham-fisted disposable Hollywood crap ending out of them all.
I was half expecting the sun to rise with a big dorky smile on its face as Clementine and Kenny skipped merely down the road, whistling happy tunes with forest animals twerking or some bullshit.
Honestly the Kenny fans should see they'd be doing him a favor by ending his misery. Its sad and it sucks it had to go down like that but... The option is save Jane and letting Kenny go to whatever afterlife there is where he might find peace or let him become a murderer and maybe go even crazier in the future...... Because I guarantee he wont get better.
It was a dumb move but I can totally see Jane's point of view here. Get Clem and the baby away from that time bomb because if she doesn't Kenny will lose it on someone else and chances are no one else but Clem will be there to receive it.
If you go looking for trouble odds are you're gonna find it. I think most people would agree that Kenny wasn't the most stable person in the… more world, so why would you allow him to think that you killed the baby, or got the baby killed. Even in a "normal" world that is just a horrible thing to do and would probably set most people off.

Did no-one else besides me actually agree with Jane on the matter that Kenny has ran out of road? Or does everyone just hate Jane now?
I don't hate Jane, she is just as stubborn as Kenny. They wanted to fight to the death so i let them. Besides talking about someone in a bad light after they died, just doesn't feel right, even if it is make believe.
Many Kenny fans act like he's infallible. They sided with him because he's Kenny. I've already seen it plenty of times. Kenny is right because he's Kenny and therefore Jane is the worst person ever.
I'm also mostly joking. I tend to do that to infuse humor into something because in the end this is just a video game and I worry some people might be taking it a bit too seriously.
The problem here is that she doesn't respect Clementine having her own mind, so she creates a situation where she forces Clementine's hand.
… more
A lot of players who liked her over Kenny and shot him felt tricked and betrayed after finding out she created this situation.
Because of this undeserved death and his final words, Kenny now has regained respect amongst a lot of players who disliked him prior to this episode.
And that's why you are so butthurt you have to resort to Godwin point for the second time (to my knowledge, maybe more).
I was fine with Jane's role in Sarah's death because to be honest, Sarah would not have made it another episode anyways. However, Kenny's mental state is at least somewhat intact, as he was right about Arvo all along. If Kenny had just killed Arvo from the start, Luke doesn't die.
I used to hate Jane for her role in Sarah's death, but I found myself agreeing with her with Kenny's mental state and his violent ways and c… morehose to save Jane by shooting Kenny.
Even with the deception of the baby's fate, I wasn't really all that mad with her. It was a stupid move, yes, but ultimately she was right about Kenny and I just wanted to get away from him once and for all.
In the end I went with Jane and returned to Carver's place to start a new life.
I think, or better, I am sure that most Kenny-Fanboys never shot Kenny and/or listened to what he says then. Before he dies, he ADMITS he became a Monster, and admits it was right that Clem shot him. Yup, Kenny-Fans, even Kenny himself knew he became a Monster. So while Jane's Method was stupid and insane, her points were 100% correct.
Kenny was never very good at thinking. He just assumes shit and reacts to it.
Hence Arvo this entire episode. I don't think Arvo would'… moreve shot Clem at all if Kenny hadn't treated him like that. Not saying Arvo is in the right but I can see he was scared of getting another beaten or worse. and panicked.

Many Kenny haters act like he's always wrong. They never sided with him because he's Kenny. I've already seen it plenty of times. Kenny is wrong because he's Kenny and therefore Jane is the best person ever.

Is it Godwin's law when the fans prove me right?

I'd really love if those that say Kenny was right to image the following: You are Jane, but unlike what happened, you really lost the Baby. While trying to get away from Walkers, you tripped over a stone. Remember there was a storm and the sight was extremely low. So you fall down and the Baby fell out of your hands. You are out of your senses for a second. You open your Eyes, try to grab the Baby, and before you do, a walker comes and grabs the Baby before you do. You do your best to stand up as fast as possible, but you realize it's too late, and the walker... you know. You run away to a house and you see Clem and Kenny. You go into the house, still a little weak from the last few Minutes. Kenny and Clem ask what happened. You are out of words for a few seconds, but you get a hold of yourself. But before you can say something, a enraged and extremely strong Kenny attacks you with all his might. You fight with your knife until there is a short pause. You put away the knife and say it was an accident. But as soon as you finished the sentence, Kenny attacks you again. You defend yourself until Kenny get's the upper hand and holds a knife to your threat. You try to reason with Kenny, but it's too late, and he kills you.
Can you really justify that? Would you really say, yeah, Kenny was totally right to kill me, I really earned Death. Remember, all the above could have had happened, Kenny did not know that Jane was messing with him, so what I wrote was possible.
Many Kenny haters act like he's always wrong. They never sided with him because he's Kenny. I've already seen it plenty of times. Kenny is w… morerong because he's Kenny and therefore Jane is the best person ever.
See, I can do it to, if that's how you wanna play it.

Yes. Well, I would say it is, anyway. Google defines 'mistake' as "an action or judgement that is misguided or wrong." I'd say that perfectly sums up Ben's situation, and if AJ had died, I'm sure Jane wouldn't have just thrown him to the walkers, so I'd call that a mistake as well.
And you can chalk that up to her not being perfect either. Making a rash decision during a dire situation (walkers all around, blinding snowstorm gradually killing the baby Clementine is trying to save (which is the only reason she cares about it at all)) doesn't mean she deserves death. Clem has made fate altering decisions as well, and would you condemn her for her mistakes?
In the end, Jane is only human. Like anybody in this world, and caring for Clementine, did what she thought she had to do, whether or not it was in the best interest of either Kenny or the baby, though Kenny on his deathbed is actually glad for the release and Jane probably knew that as well. Arguing with him for Clem and the baby's sake, and feeling sorry that he keeps dragging himself on, unable to not see his uncontrollable behavior only made things worse. Of course Kenny was aware. Perhaps what she did was actually in the best interest of Kenny himself. She never intended for him to die, but he was unable to get over his own anger, and death was really his only release from the constant pain he was becoming increasingly unable to bear. He is glad that he was stopped before he ruined things anymore than he already knows he has.
Really, though, Jane is only contrived into that awkward situation because the game doesn't give Clem the ability to confront Kenny about his behavior directly any earlier. She can get mad at him, and even express doubt toward his actions, but gets railroaded into following/apologizing for him anyway.Really, it is rather kind of frustrating, and paints Jane's actions in a better light if she was forced to extreme actions to finally move the only other person she cares about to her side.
It really frustrated me because I was already agreeing with her. I was this close to saying yes... He's even scaring me. We should leave b… moreefore it gets worse because it will.

I've seen it from Kenny fans themselves who have admitted they hate Jane now because Kenny.........
And ? It doesn't take being a Kenny fan to hate Jane because she provoked the "either me or Kenny" situation which was 1) manipulating two characters including our protagonist into believing the baby was dead when he was not, and 2) basically forcing Clementine's hand into saving her.
I've seen many players who were neutral or even disliked Kenny and still dislike him, be extremely mad at Jane for creating this situation.
Believe it or not, there are lots of people who disliked Kenny and still didn't wanted him dead for no good reason.
Which was my point in the first place.
While your point was that one can only be mad at Jane for this if one is a hardcore Kenny fan and "lel when you disagree with Kenny it's worse than Holocaust to them Kenny fanboys lel am I right guys"
Cut your "Kenny fanboys gonna hate" crap for one moment, and consider what I wrote in my first reply to your post, (disregarding the last sentence about godwin point and butthurt) and tell me how it's not a valid point, and how people can't legitimately hold this opinion.
The problem here is that she doesn't respect Clementine having her own mind, so she creates a situation where she forces Clementine's hand.

I even like Kenny and even I admit he's wrong like 90% of the time.
Liking a character and being a blind fanboy are two different things. You are showing your true colors as the latter.
Okay, Kenny. You left her in the hands of some random stranger in S1EP5, this can prove a lot. I can imagine Clem losing the baby and Kenny doing this "rampage" she did to Jane.
I liked Kenny, but he was losing it, he was going to the depths of insanity.
Incorrect. Everyone knew about Lilly being "emotionally unstable" after the loss of her father. Arvo on the other hand was repeatedly beaten and abused by Kenny which made him do this. I hate Arvo as much as everyone else due to him shooting Clem, but if Kenny didn't do the things he did he may of not stolen supplies with that useless junkie and Mike.
She didn't cause the death of his wife or son. And the objective facts are that Kenny was told it was an accident even if AJ WAS killed. He didn't handle it rationally. He instead tried to kill her for what was said to be an accident.
All you're saying is that Jane assumed he wouldn't believe it, so she tried to kill him instead, specifically saying it was time to put him out of his misery if you try to stop her specifically. She's still a bitch, no matter how you see it.
I keep seeing people use that defense. Do people honestly think Kenny would have believed it? Prior to the fight, he storms in and accuses… more Jane of killing AJ. Obviously, he never saw the kid's body to confirm it, but that doesn't matter when he's in Kenny mode. He's angry, so someone else must be to blame. How long until he lashes out at Clem like that? I mean, when there's no one left and something happens to AJ, what is he going to do? Honestly, please think about that.
I think, or better, I am sure that most Kenny-Fanboys never shot Kenny and/or listened to what he says then. All you're saying is that Jane assumed he wouldn't believe it, so she tried to kill him instead, specifically saying it was time to put him out of his misery if you try to stop her specifically. She's still a bitch, no matter how you see it.
I understood her, and I left with her I love Jane and HATED kenny
I don't like being manipulated. She is dead because of her stupid plan.
