AJ was a distraction and could have been used as food. Like they did in Crawford lol. I know it's wrong but hey ''you got to do whatever it takes to survive.'' -Lee Everett season 1 episode 1
Telltale is going to have to find a way to give AJ the "Clementine treatment" in season 3 in order to make people care about him and want to keep him alive.
It's not like I would actively look for trouble just to gleefully watch as walkers devoured an infant. But, if it's a choice between my personal survival and "dying with dignity." AJ is the one that, unfortunately, dies to ensure my survival.
It's not too hard to understand. Petty idealism and baseless morality wouldn't, realistically, last you long.
Yeah, you wouldn't "Actively look" for trouble, you would just be keeping an infant with you for the sole purpose of sacrificing its life save your own skin. That's so edgy I think it could cut someone.
And it's possible that my "petty and baseless morals" wouldn't last me as long as others, but unfortunately I can't be a robot.
I'm dropping out of this now. Neither of us is going to convince the other of anything, no matter how long this comment string gets. Have your opinion on the AJ situation and I'll have mine.

Hardship comes with the territory though and the circumstances. Clem has been suffering hardship from the start and bears up under it. I think it's unfair to blame the little guy for being a "burden" when he didn't ask to be born. Did anyone blame Clem for being a burden on Lee? Yeah, you can't exactly identify with being a newborn anymore but I think most people can identify with needing to be cared for and cared about. I d agree she shouldn't be raising him alone. I never liked that end choice.
He has done nothing but be born.
I think that's kind of the problem. He's not a character that people can identify with or have an o… morepinion about. As of right now, he's just a plot device with a cute face slapped on it. It's true that AJ hasn't done anything for people to actively dislike him and I don't think most people do. What people actively dislike is Clem being saddled with a random newborn baby that she now has to care for when she's already facing the incredibly steep odds of surviving as a little girl in an apocalypse.
from whales to aunts, most kinds of social animals all know that they sometimes must help the whole group with the cost of their own lives. They would have died out if they just consider themselves. it is so interesting that we wise, well-developed, social human beings, who talk about humanlity all the times, have to discuss whether we should protect babies.
No, I agree that it's very much illogical to blame AJ for his circumstances and the burden he places on others. Blaming a baby for being needy is like blaming a stone for being heavy. It's just what it is, it didn't ask to be that way, and there's nothing it can do about it. But if I have to lug a heavy stone around with me while I'm trying to flee from the undead nipping at my heels, I don't think I could help wishing for the damn thing to just go away.

hes still just a baby and hes gonna die soon anyway from either starvation, freezing to death or zombies. i wish there was an option to just kill the kid and be done with it

I think saving AJ as a last ditch effort is pretty fucked up but hey, that's you're own opinion. Me on the other hand plan to stick with Al to the end!
of course you want to ditch the baby you are a jane fan its funny most of the jane fans don't like the baby and most of the kenny ones like the baby huh either way leaving the baby for bait is pretty fucked up like really fucked up like if you REALLY have to and i mean really then i guess you have no choice but if you are just keeping him just so you can use him for bait when there are other options then that is just fucked

I'm so sick of being called a "Jane fan." What does that even mean? That I can think for myself?
I'm assuming you're like fifteen, so you have yet to face the real world. But typically, there are more than Team 1 and Team 2. I'm Team Clementine. No one else.

Funny how everyone without a strong mind thinks everything is relegated to either black or white.
Try opening your eyes, and stop using this ridiculous "us versus them" mentality that's so popular with angst filled fifteen year olds now-a-days.
I don't think he even called you a jane fan he just said that those who seem to be fans of kenny won't leave the baby while those who are fans of jane will leave it. He's not saying its Just kenny and jane fans

THINK FOR YOURSELF
How do you know? Is everyone saying, I'm a Kenny fan and I'm doing this, I'm a Jane fan and I'm doing that? I'm certainly not a Kenny fan and I think abandoning a baby is horrible.
I get that. People even now feel that way sometimes when they are stressed. Nobody wants burdens, they just have to deal with them. I guess I'm just disturbed by these gleeful, almost proud sounding threads announcing how people will abandon babies and even use them as bait for walkers. It makes me wonder about people and their mentality. Is being selfish a thing to be admired these days? I wouldn't have thought so. I've been working overtime and I'm tired, so maybe I'm just stressed myself lol.

People who think for themselves are worse than Carver.
Carver was wrong in this case: you aren't the same as him. You're much worse. At least Carver did what he did to lead and protect the community. He did what he did for his people, and he died believing that. That is at least honorable.

Right. As I said I've seen quasi-understandable arguments for leaving the child, but actually holding onto the baby in order to have it be (presumably) violently torn apart and eaten alive is just dark. Very, extremely, horrifyingly dark.

Honestly I dont hate the kid but I really dont want to be lumbered with it all season, clem already seems to care about it way more than she should do.
Leaving a baby to die is murder.
Its really not, I'm not saying its in any way right but leaving someone dosnt equal killing them. Your not the one killing, negligence maybe
Why shouldn't she care about him? I don't understand the she cares about him more than she should thing. Maybe she has a natural instinct that people on this forum seem to lack lol

It's amoral shit. The baby isn't serving me in any way... So why I ask? Why risk my life on a gamble?
I've never been much of a risk taker.
Clementine isn't killing the baby first-hand and eating him.
She's surviving. Plain and simple.
I would keep him with me. Its just wrong to leave a defenceless, vulnerable baby behind. I couldn't do it. I wouldn't be able to live with myself.
FUCK YES!
Yeah, surviving by willingly letting an infant be eaten alive. Crawford would be proud.
Fuck Crawford and their "all its about surviving" ways.

"Edgy" huh? I wouldn't call sacrificing a baby to live "edgy," i'd call it a very morally bleak solution to being in mortal danger.
But, at least it's a solution.
I personally don't care for him that much either, but I know my conscience is going to get to me and tell me to take care of him. So there's that. -_-
Thats what a real man does.
Funny how almost all kenny fans will save the baby but the jane fans will abandon it. I'm starting to see a correlation here...

Thank you! The truth has been spoken!
AJ and Kenny are love, they are life.
I can respect that. I wish I shared in your optimism.

What? I never said that , I said MOST. Yes , I forgot to put the most in jane fans. So what?
"Almost all" and "most" are two completely different things.
I fail to see how. Both a refereeing to a large majority of the fan base.
But I'm not a "Jane fan" or whatever it is you clumped me in with. So you're wrong. I went off alone, to live in Mexico.
I don't think he even called you a jane fan he just said that those who seem to be fans of kenny won't leave the baby while those who are fans of jane will leave it. He's not saying its Just kenny and jane fans
Age has nothing to do with facing the real world, I'm 15 yet already starting to face it

"Immoral and Evil are two different things"
Leaving a baby to die is murder.
Murder is evil.
The end. You're a murderer.
