I think it's something to do with the camera. The same thing happened on a program I used years ago, although I forgot what the term is that it's called by, but it either lets you fit more in a shot, or less.

And @Hazzer, the picture you posted is beautiful but so sad It reminds me of how people thought that it was Clem who was going to die at the end of season 1! It would've been even more horrible than it was for Lee I think.
