Are you going to play Season 2?
If yes, take a notice it's only a game which tries to provide you entertainment. Perhaps you should lower… more your expectations a bit before you play it, and then come back here with thought-out, racional opinion. We're gonna respect it, like most of us did before. Right, guys?
i think the real question here is why would you go onto a fanbase forum for the game and try to convince people that the game is not good/no… moret a masterpiece? nobody here is going to agree with you your basicly putting a target on your head and screaming "HEY TWD FANS COME FLAME ME!!!" i honestly have no pity
Oh well... it's a good thing this video game is only $25 or less when it's on sale (which is all the time) so it's not like Telltale's ripping you off. A fair deal for a good story.
So you didn't waste your money, then what you over-hyped yourself? When this game first came out no one expected it would be as good as it was. TWD was an amazing surprise, especially since it focused so heavily on a story in a zombie apocalypse which has been done to death.
First of all, you can't complain about gameplay, graphics, vocals. it's all about the storyline. everything else is just there to make it attractive to the player. or in other words; To make it "playable".
"The game is tailored to how you play it". I feel cheated. I don't understand why try to make an interesting, variable story without the ability to influence your gameplay with something other than momentary tension.
You don't control the characters in the game directly. at least not whenever you decide something to happen. This game is based on the comics, thus it's not a game where you play as a nobody and you decide what happens and the story goes on. you should've done some research about the game before you bought it.
My opinion:
I say that they did a pretty good job on The Walking Dead Season 1 and 2. Sure they might have been some moments that weren't in place (or felt that way). but what matters to me is that they made this game feel alive. all characters had / have unique characteristics / personalities. and complaining about things that happend during the storyline that you didn't like (because of your emotions or whatever) is just not a valid reason to call a game "not a masterpiece". Games have been overrated / overhyped. Watch Dogs, Destiny etc. but The Walking Dead doesn't lack any story telling and surely, you might not care as much for the story line but that's just your personal taste and opinion. So yeah, it doesn't really matter what other people have to say about a game. Some might say: "it's a masterpiece!" or "it's something i've never played before. I like it" but you must know that these games often lack in some kind of way. wether its either graphics, gameplay or storyline. Telltalegames = Telling-a-tale implemented into a game (in other words; story is everything.). That's what this company is all about. calling a game a "Masterpiece" is just someone's way of expressing his feelings to the game.
Summary:
My opinion: A good game.
Complaints about emotional moments / things that didn't went your way
Ratings from others
Telltalegames's main focus on developing games.
by the way, you asked for a lot of commotion with this thread.

You don't control the characters in the game directly.
I understand, but how was I supossed to know that before playing? If I know, my final assessment would've been less negative. I wasn't ready to face the "illusion of choice", my expectations were higher than game offered me. I said it multiple times, I've got multiple answers, let it go already.

My disappointment was directed to the whole game, not anything in particular. I was initally misunderstood, which was my fault, I can admit that again.
Story is everything. That's what this company is all about.
Oh, the story is everything for many companies, not just for Telltale.
calling a game a "Masterpiece" is just someone's way of expressing his feelings to the game.
It's a general belief, really. That's how I came across this title, it was surrounded by many enthusiastic reviews and high ratings. It clearly dominates the video game industry.

The op seems like the type who would argue pro choice opinions on a strictly republican forum then ask "why are you guyz flaming me?!?!" Seriously dude I know you are entitled to your opinion and I don't take issue with that fact but there is a time and place for everything and your stress levels would probably be better off if you had kept this particular opinion to yourself.

The story is great, but I agree there's far too much lazy writing and lazy game design to be considered the best story in games.
Hell, it's not even the best post apocalyptic story in games.
But I still love it never the less.
Would the story work better as a animated series or a comic? Arguably so, but who cares it's still awesome IMO.
The game has flaws? of course, but i really love a game that makes me care about their characters, that's what makes this game so memorable, a game doesn't need to be perfect , just be awesome and this clearly is, maybe the choices are just an illusion but i think i can tell we're not here for the choices but for the story and characters.

Don't listen to that person. Although I don't agree with some of your points, I've always respected when people can state their opinion amicably and present their points to try and get a conversation out of it.
I've said this before, but If it wasn't for Clementine, I'd say this season was a disaster. Kenny was just awful and literally disjointed the whole narrative experience. Episode three and four was written with the conviction of a high school student (although I personally liked episode 4), and episode five? Just pitiful. The endings were either simple feel good Hollywood blockbuster endings for nothing but a "comforting" easy-going feeling for the mouth-breathers, or they were vein attempts to try and be ambiguous when they came off shallow and boring.
You can't have a Michael Bay ending then try to have a Stanley Kubrick ending too. It doesn't really feel genuine.

that's a good thought man, but still, it made grown men cry like babies, and it had some of the best storytelling in a video game, EVER. but yeah, its kinda overated.
but If it wasn't for Clementine, I'd say this season was a disaster.
Really? I am one who finds Clem to be one of the most disastrous parts of this season.
Welcome to the Telltale games forums where you will be yelled at for voicing your own opinion. Seriously guys, some of you are being real dicks.
Personally, I loved Season One... and that you don't.. that's fine. I'm not going to say, 'wtf dude s1 was amazin if u dont like it ur an idiot" because last time I checked forums are about discussion and opinions, but clearly some people aren't aware of that.
If you didn't like Season 1... I can't even imagine what you'll say about Season 2... lol
Voice your opinion once your done of Season 2 as well (only if you want of course) because I'd like to hear what you have to say about it.

I couldn't be further from that.
I find her more fascinating than even season one Clem.
She was literally the only interesting character in the entire season.
What was it you found "disastrous" about her, exactly?

Comments
Yes, but I think I'll keep my opinion to myself this time.
I don't need any.
The money isn't a problem.
That says alot.
It is pretty good.
About?
Oh, nothing. Forget about it.
Alright.

Here's a thread about Telltalegames "screwing" up.
Here's a thread about another episode that they might have "screwed up" but not sure.
"You wan't some of this, bro?"
You see, and that's your opinion. I have different one. As simple as that.
Dont, its nice to hear other opinions. Also season 2 isnt quite as adored as season 1 its still good however there are problems

I didn't force anyone to do anything.
I don't need spoilers.
Well, if majority liked Season 1 more than 2, it may work for me whereas I'm not a fan of the first part. Inverted reality.
...It actually makes sense.
What is it about?

Reading through this, i saw some season 2 spoilers without a spoiler tag. Wow, that's stupid.
You didn't get PMed.
I apologize for this again, it simply looked like a great summary of my post. Won't happen again.
Because only the good opinions get through such place? I probably will next time, even though I shouldn't.
I just try not to read.

Hes talking about season one though.
I literally just read the whole thing again...
Boy, is my face red.
(In my ever dwindling defense though, most of the article was just stating choices not mattering...)
"Doh well."
i'll update ya soo
