Foreshadowing, maybe. Or maybe he's just messing with Gabe. A little messing around doesn't mean it's going to happen. If anything it will likely be determinate.
From a a narrative standpoint, they don't have to include lines like:
Huh, maybe they'll hit if off?
Oh, I'm sure after a day y… moreou two are just soulmates.
How about I shoot your little boyfriend here instead?
We were just talking, she seems pretty cool.
Seems like foreshadowing to me, unfortunately. I hope you're right though. The last thing this game needs is some stupid forced romance. We have enough with Kate and Eleanor.
Given all the stuff she went through in Seasons 1 and 2 it's understandable why she acts that way. Not to mention she is putting into practice what Lee taught her to do. I think it also has to do with the fact she is no longer this innocent girl she once used to be but she has learned to be a survivalist and independent.
Then there's a huge disconnect with the audience and the tone, and it is the obvious root of the problem with A New Frontier being written not with actually engaging the audience in world-building or interesting characters that would have to have acclimatized to their environment but with frivolous proclivities to focus on "cute teen romance."
The issue there is that I bought a post-apocalyptic survival game to immerse myself, not a Disney channel produced sit-com film. I want to see how the writers perceive the interactions of people long since abandoned and adapt to the horrors of a world ravaged by undead abominations.
Gabe looks like any teen-idol heart throb that would've made any young boy puke, with his nicely feathered hair, soft eyes, pristine fingernails that look like he hasn't done a chore in his life, and the list goes on. While we also have a young child that has found a way to survive and instead is assisting the aid of people she's never met, something she makes no hesitation to vocally demonize but does it anyway cause the plot's gotta go somewhere, right?
It's 5th grade writing by the down-syndrome kid and it's quite obnoxious.
The thing I dislike the most is that there is no variation in Clementine's personality... not a single line of dialogue is different based on the previous two seasons :x

Not sure if the asshole was direct to me or Kenny, but it's a bit much either way. You can play the game how you like, I really don't care, but yes, my Lee always stuck by him, so therefore Lee was an established good friend of Kenny's in a day, especially when the world's gone to hell and 90% of the human race is dead, the standards for being a "good friend" drop to pretty much just being a decent person and looking out for one another. I always assumed if you weren't pro-Kenny he'd would leave out the "Especially a good friend part." Never played a non pro-Kenny game so maybe he does, maybe he doesn't. All I know is in my games, Lee is a good friend of Kenny's, therefore I have no problems with when Kenny calls him that.
I hope you're right, it just seems from a storytelling standpoint, it's a hint of what's to come. But hey, there was plenty of things they were hinting towards in Season 2 that never made the cut.
Foreshadowing, maybe. Or maybe he's just messing with Gabe. A little messing around doesn't mean it's going to happen. If anything it will likely be determinate.
In response to her not visibly showing it, a lot of people are able to conceal it and not express any visual trauma about events whatsoever, but the problem with that is the slightest thing can knock everything down and she could emotionally explode. Both Kenny and Jane played a great part in her life and losing them could set her over. I'm still pulling for the flashbacks to be a dream and Clem's not able to decipher it, and then Kenny/Jane show up inside ANF's gates.
The way she ate that apple after she rescued Javier was just cringeworthy the more I think back to it.
To be fair, I didn't mind that, if only because it was midly humorous to think of that as "See? She still likes apples!".
You have to remember she's only 13, most adults couldn't even function if they went through what she's been through. You can't expect her to be all smiles and giggles, it wouldn't be realistic
Really? I'd like to see that because I've tried different choices and watched different let's plays and the dialogue is still exactly the same. It disappoints me.
I think it makes a lot of sense. She would only stay sweet Clem if she had someone protect her all this way. I think if Wellington wouldn't have been sacked she could have retained some of her old personality traits. But let's put it this way, Kenny/Jane is removed somehow from her life, Wellington is sacked, she had to take care of AJ so she probably joined the New Frontier to keep him well cared and protected. The New Frontier probably hardened her even further, she found out some of the atrocities they pull and runs away. A combination of all that changed her.

She keeps moaning, she looks uninterested and sighs about nothing. It really is annoying.
Your team is slowing you down? "I KNEW I should have gone solo"
Your team wants to bond? "You will all die, there's no point in making friends anymore"
You're with a group surrounded by walkers and see an opening? "I told you I will leave you guys I'm a lone wolf I can do better by myself I knew I should have gone way ughhh bye"
How is her performance cringey?
There is literally nothing wrong with her dialogue and personality.
If you were alone for 2 years and under the influence of an evil group (TNF) you think you'd still be happy?

The next episodes I expect a lot of:
Group: Clem, remember his name?
Clem: Does it matter?
she's ok for what she's meant to be. I find her bland and dull nowdays with a not so good Kennyish vibe. Granted it is understandable why she is how she is but it just comes off to me as way too boring and dull and very not interesting at all. And so much for that whole joke of #myclementine thing. Although i don't know who actually believed Telltale would put that much work in especially for something like that.
She keeps moaning, she looks uninterested and sighs about nothing. It really is annoying.
Clem never moaned, and she looks neutral most of the time, after losing almost everyone in her life she cares about, you think she's just going to happy 24/7, this game isn't an enlightening theme where it's sunshines and rainbows but she does joke around/smile a few times throughout the series while remaining useful.
Your team is slowing you down? "I KNEW I should have gone solo"
She never said this at all, she asked how they survived this long in the apocalypse when it's obvious Kate/Gabe/Mariana should've been dead long ago due to their horrible survival skills after 5 years.
Your team wants to bond? "You will all die, there's no point in making friends anymore"
She never said this, she simply doesn't want to cause anymore pain for herself because two groups she got attached to and lost many great people. She's also been alone for 2 years.
You're with a group surrounded by walkers and see an opening? "I told you I will leave you guys I'm a lone wolf I can do better by myself I knew I should have gone way ughhh bye"
Where is this even coming from? All she wanted was a car to head to Richmond for AJ as implied by the story, she barely met Javier's group, she doesn't need to stay with them. So how old are that you can't even comprehend simple script and subtext, <11?
Group: Clem, remember his name?
Clem: Does it matter?
This made no sense either, again, I get you're under the age of 11, but come on, you can pull a better source other than your ass next time.
I'd suggest highly you replay the episodes if you lack this much knowledge of the game.
She implied it. I expect all of the same dialog in the next few episodes.

Well actually the apple is symbolic for Clem..as in the garden of Eden eating the apple represents a fall from grace. Clementine is no longer the innocent or helpless child she has been in previous seasons. She is reaching out and taking control...however...this goes back to the early campaign when the logo was in flames...this season is best described as the wheel of fire. It is an old literary trope that someone's choices or actions are causing all they know and love to suffer around them. Also the loss of AJ is a symbolic loss of Clementine's humanity...her decision to be a loner is causing her to be reckless and make mistakes...do things that she would not have done before. Eli...wreck a truck...steal from people. The Wheel of Fire has 2 outcomes...either she returns to the path...learns to trust groups again and let her heart open to new people..or she dies...whether in fact or in spirit. But the apple is the first hint that there is something wrong in Clementine's life.

Who knows; if Tales from the Borderlands is any indication, Telltale shipping random main characters just because fans wanted it might be a reality.
Bind ur not helping me.
Seriously though, I think there are more death threads towards Gabe about shipping than actual shippers.
I know right! My Lee-Like Clem became a Jane-Like Clem because "our choices matter" and "we have 42 different Clems".

I chose stay with Kenny to the end and don't give a fuck about Jane but doesn't matter, i'm gonna turn into Clemenjane anyway!

Exactly! Also, nice name, I'm an SOAD fan too.
Ugh. Wanting Clementine to improve yet instead get a Jane 2.0. She acts the exact same way no matter what making her more the unlikable
Thanks! I can't wait to the release of their new album this year.
That's not true is it? I know what she says about the dude Javier can let go before they meet vary.
She was hungry...what you don't want her to eat?
Leave Clem Alone

Nothing happened to my baby girl other than the fact she grew up into a fucking badass.

I dont know what you mean, I think she's great. I like her sassy.
She gonna chop down a tree and push it at your truck for just one!
It drives me crazy that people want her to act the same way she did when she was eight.
Because you didn't think it through.
Literally lost 2 entire groups and you figure she'll just shrug and move on?
Really? I'd like to see that because I've tried different choices and watched different let's plays and the dialogue is still exactly the same. It disappoints me.

No it's this old popular YouTuber named "Chris Crocker" this is a clip from his video "Leave Britney alone"
Oh, okay. Just watched the Squeakquel review on Channel Awesome.
He does.
Kenny says, "I ain't lettin anyone else get eaten today, even if he is an asshole" or something like that if you don't help Duck

Relax he didn't ask you for an essay. I see what you mean man, I wouldn't say cringeworthy but I'd still say it's the easy way out for dialogue
