Sure,no point if not related to the world of walkers either.Clem could also fall down stairs and break her neck in a peaceful world.
Very funny though.
I mean we shouldn't take it for granted that important characters need very convincing or emotional reasons to die and always have a nice way of death.Better treat them like normal people(like Mark in S1 ep2)to add some realism and depth.
And after that,if they have difficulty continuing the story, just change our viewpoint by switching to different protagonists, like Jesus,Ava or even Joan.Besides, they can change all characters and the environment completely like they did in 400 days.Tons of options there, and I believe the story will be more colorful and we'll have more detailed view of this world of walkers.
Isn't this marvelous.
Im all for killing important characters, but realism should be the last reason for killing someone, realism doesnt not lead to engaging stor… moreies, you need some sort of fiction to make it interesting, or do you think Clem falling down the stairs and breaking her neck would be an emotional moment?
you think important protagonists should always have good reasons for death. That's unrealistic and pointless
Man... Just get your mind straight. This is a GAME. Games usually want to make "heroic" scenes for their characters. If you want realism, turn off your PC and hang out with your friends. Or just wait for a real apocalypse to take place... :P (if that happens, but I don't think so)
So you think important protagonists should always have good reasons for death. That's unrealistic and pointless.Clem could just fall into a r… moreiver and drown, eaten by a random zombie,or even suffer a lot more and has a slow and painful death,as far as we could imagine. That's realistic and good quality stuff.Of course we remaining characters(is this even true?maybe it's better to say we players)are going to miss her forever but there's really no point in giving her good reason to die.
Pretty sure if Clem dies, the series dies with it. She's been one of the flagship characters since the beginning, and unless it's done right, killing off Clem is gonna piss off a TON of people.
So I'm not a big fan of the comics either.Creators put money in the first place, not quality.Sometimes they have no choice and I feel sorry for them, but I don't like the creation whatsoever.
Right perhaps I ask for too much.Wish telltale has more time and budget to make awesome games——I mean really awesome in every aspect.Obviously focusing on heroism is not enough for TWD.You can't disagree with me on that, right?

There's plenty of a point to give Clem a good reason to die. Killing her off for the sake of shock value is just a huge slap in the face to her character and the fans. There's nothing "good quality" about that. Killing her off with dignity proves the exact opposite of that.

If Clem dies in this season it would disjoint this season's entire narrative. The story of season 3 is more about Javier then it is about Clem. If Clem dies it will take away the focus from Javier's story arc.
If you put it that way I could also say there's nothing"shock value" about that. It's very natural.Let her live on or killing her off with good reason is shocking.
So there's nothing to debate anymore since we both aren't able to convince each other.I made my point, you're very welcome to disagree at it and have your own ideas and thoughts.:D

Look,it's all based on your thought that Clem's an important character whose death matters a lot.Imo her death doesn't need to occupy much of an episode. And that's the main idea I've been talking about the whole time.
If Clem dies in this season it would disjoint this season's entire narrative. The story of season 3 is more about Javier then it is about Clem. If Clem dies it will take away the focus from Javier's story arc.
I want Clem to die as a child. Not because I dislike her - I absolutely LOVE her - but I also want to be on my knees in tears when she dies, and I feel that her dying young would contribute to this.
Here's what I'd imagined (you may or may not like this):
Clem rescues AJ. Joan finds out and sends men to stop her. They reach and surround her, ordering her to hand AJ over. Javi arrives, horrified. Clem refuses to let AJ go, and protects him with her body. One of the men opens fire.
She wouldn't die instantly, but something to that effect would be a good sendoff. I also imagined Clem's last words being to Javi alone, but the only way that could happen is by the New Frontier men being killed and realistically that would require more men. I had considered Ava being around, but I think Javi on his own would have been better.
I can respect your opinion but honestly I enjoyed season one so much that Clem is kinda my entire reason for buying The Walking Dead series. If she dies I'm more than likely just going to start just watching let's plays of it rather than buy it. I think, as heartbreaking as it is, that I'd be okay with Clem dying at the end of the series though.

Yes.And imo the best way to represent it is in form of small and temporary success but inevitable failure in the end.Clem has already killed many walkers. Her job done.Grown-ups can kill bad guys for her.

I'm not sure, I would have to imagine that after A New Frontier ends we may have one or two season left if we're lucky. Assuming Telltale has any idea of where they want to take the series anyway.
I'm ok with more seasons but I hope they don't make long storylines anymore which tend to be boring at end(I doubt they're going to create an ending for S3 that is not boring).Would be nice if they let each episode(could be longer than current ones)has separate storylines like 400 days.
Let's imagine:take S1 ep2 for example.Wouldn't it be more awesome if that whole cannibal story took place on totally different characters that have no relation to Lee and Clem. It's important to have intense plots in every episode.Getting a whole episode building intensity for the next with the same characters may work in TV series, but very stupid in games. And is more stupid by releasing episode by episode. It often leads to huge disappointment.
I'm not sure, I would have to imagine that after A New Frontier ends we may have one or two season left if we're lucky. Assuming Telltale has any idea of where they want to take the series anyway.
And frankly speaking,I don't like the idea of Clem dying so late as at the end of the series 'cause it hinders new storylines.
But I can kinda sympathize with your feelings, enjoyment and reason for buying the series.LOL.
I'm not sure, I would have to imagine that after A New Frontier ends we may have one or two season left if we're lucky. Assuming Telltale has any idea of where they want to take the series anyway.
I respect your opinion, but I still don't agree with your point of you. If it's this what always happens (I mean that there's no hope for the new life to live a full life), then in the end no human will survive and the undead will live until they eat everything alive and then they will die, too because there will be nothing to eat and they'll starve to death. After this, the end of Earth will happen. THE END. Does this really looks appealing to you?
Yes.And imo the best way to represent it is in form of small and temporary success but inevitable failure in the end.Clem has already killed many walkers. Her job done.Grown-ups can kill bad guys for her.
There is no reason for Clementine to die other than shock value. It would advance the plot very little and probably derail the entire season. Too many characters were killed in Season 2 because "fuck it" and their potential never made it on screen. Clem still has room to grow, and killing her off would be a huge disappointment. I'll take a complete group that tackles emotional and physical challenges as they come over another season that murders everyone. If that's what you classify as a "regular plot" then so be it, at least it would have some substance.
I totally agree with you,but making choices matter is hard without much more work and way larger game sizes,I seriously doubt they will do t… morehat. My major point is,I need a more realistic game.People die out of no reason everyday in the real world, not to say in a world full of walkers.but our characters in the game just wear some kind of protagonist aura and keep creating countless miracles. This very fact itself is cheap and makes little sense to me.
Generally I consider 400 days the best because they are short, thus not making me believe those characters live all the time. Some even died in the game, which seemed realistic.
But I do know that this series is a commercial product after all.Even if the producers think the same way as me,they have to make money anyway.Again, this is a personal opinion.Furthermore, whether Clem is going to die or not actually doesn't matter much.It HAS BEEN unrealistic.Yes they shouldn't have made S2 or S3,just like you said in another post.
So basically, games should be exempt from having a consistent narrative across a franchise with core characters because its the only entertainment medium you seem to care about? That seems silly, man. On topic, nah, let's not kill of one of the only characters remaining. Unless I'm playing a simulation, realism in videogames isn't very high on my priority list. Especially when so many of them have no basis in reality. And its generally just a horrible decision to kill of popular characters solely because it can happen in real life, kinda defeats the purpose of fictional stories, no?
So I'm not a big fan of the comics either.Creators put money in the first place, not quality.Sometimes they have no choice and I feel sorry for them, but I don't like the creation whatsoever.
Clementine dying is the LAST thing TellTale should do - especially if you're tired of the 'same old plots.' Killing off characters is something TellTale does way too often in TWD. They ought to have characters actually survive through seasons! Kenny & Jane's deaths are unnecessary in season 3, especially after going through so many emotions to choose which one of them survives. I'm not saying Clementine shouldn't die because she is who she is, I'm just saying that there's no reason. You don't do something shocking just for shock value because that is bad writing - something they've done already. If you want something new then think more outside of the box. Like actually getting attached to these new characters as Javier, and being put in situations that give you choices that are unclear whether they're good or bad; no more scoldings by other characters because you made a choice they deemed wrong. Imagine going on path and not knowing whether you're good, bad, or in-between until it is too late - you're at the end of the season, and you see the aftermath of your actions taking place.
This whole revenge masturbatory escapism thing is sleep-inducing to me at this point because it's essentially a big spectacle to get more senseless violence put on screen with no actual purpose to it.
Also, I love how that fuck face was so extravagantly evil he was actually joking about killing a child and daring the second fuck face to smash his head in, and all I could thing about was General Palpatine saying this...
You know what I loved about Alien and Alien 3 (Despite it not being as good). Dallas in Alien was who I thought as the main character, and Clemmens in Alien 3 was who I thought the secondary protagonist with Ripley.
Well, eventually, Dallas dies 3rd out of 7, and then Clemmens dies in the first hour, making you get the feeling that NO ONE IS SAFE AT ALL TIMES.
If Clementine were to die this season, as long as it's done correctly, I wouldn't be mad. I love the sense that games/movies break the hidden code to keep the two main characters alive and they have a 110% chance of living. Yet, with Alien/Alien 3, the Xenomorphs said "f it, we kill who we like".
The point of death in media is that it's supposed to have an impact on the characters in the story. Clementine's death would not serve any purpose other than ending the story entirely or as a flavor towards other characters. Given that all characters she cares about are dead or missing this wouldn't be the case with her.
For Javier she would just be a girl he knew for a week, a couple of years into the apocalypse. So no payoff.
Am I the only person thinking that way?
No you are not.

Sure I get they and quite a few others were handled terribly, but instead of saying I hope Clem gets the same treatment shouldn't we be wanting telltale to fix it and handle everyone's deaths better
Clementine's death = The Game series death. Why can't people get that? If this series continues on without Clementine then believe me it will sell like shit, look at fucking The Walking Dead Michonne.

I feel as though it's really hipocritical the fact that a main criticism of anf is the lack of character development (which I don't agree with as I love anf) however imagine if clementine did die the one character everyone feels connected to would die just like that and for what a emotional moment and to continue another different story as if it's complete irrelevant what has happened in the previous seasons everyone loves clementine what's the point of just killing her off for proving everyone is vulnerable which has already been proven from the first season with lees death

The endings were just better for her conclusion until ANF. I don't see the point dying. Rick Grimes is still alive, isn't he?

I'm sure as hell that your statement is true.
Shows are different from games, they have limits.Games don't.Why not use our imagination to create a more colorful game in which anything can happen.
I was reffering to the comic Rick, not the TV Rick.

Of course heroism can't be the only thing that TellTale represents with TWD. However, it's a part of it.
Yes.And imo the best way to represent it is in form of small and temporary success but inevitable failure in the end.Clem has already killed many walkers. Her job done.Grown-ups can kill bad guys for her.
