It's certainly paced far better and more competently structured than Season's 2 schizophrenic plot. And the… more characters certainly aren't quite as boring and predictable as Season 2's characters are.
As bad as I think ANF is, it's far better than S2. At least it's gotten me to smile and find some discernible interest in it's plot. Ironic that many people only find Clem to be the only enjoyable part of the season, when in reality she's by far the worst part of the game.
Nah I do, that why I ignored them when I was about to use the quote option, cus I don't have any business with those two words, my business Includes only the first 4 words.
Ok so we've had our hate about this season and all that. But everyone seems to forget that we will still have that ''DLC'' as mentioned before and if it's Clems DLC, then GOOD.
You'll have more than enough time to play as her than you'd rather have to play as Javi again.
I don't mind Javi in the story tbh, it's just that it doesn't seem right to lower Clems importance to just a sidekick.
She's been with us since S1, but her main problem which apparently is from season2 till now, is her development, she has nothing, it's like the devs don't even bother about her anymore and she's just THERE in this season, not even AJ is reason enough to make them care for Clem anymore, this is sad but true.
I do not play the walking dead to smile I play the walking dead to cry.
It's too easy not to at this point. Between the blatantly forced period scene and the painfully contrived villain the game has barely convinced us of, I find smiling and laughing is the only reaction any sane person could have.

I love playing as Javi and I think Clementine has developed far more than people give her credit for. The cast isn't all bad either. I really like the whole family dynamic, especially between Javi and David. [...] I think the story is very interesting and I like the direction they are going with.
imo, it's hard to take that family dynamic to heart while there's 0 time to get attached to your family and Clem being around that is players family makes it kinda dull for me. Clem development? I saw it in E4 first time tbh. Before that she was just lil Jane. What fails me to get invested in this "whole family dynamic" is that season is just too short and it makes me hard to believe this Scooby doo van plot of wandering for 4 years in a ponyrainbowland and then suddenly, because of a pudding they suddenly get confronted with ZA.
The choices in ANF matter more than the previous seasons assuming: Either Tripp/Ava lives; Conrad Lives; Either Kate/David lives (one or other, not necessarily both)
It's very optimistic to think that and even if it will happen it's fair to assume that they will get Kennyd/Janed .in the next season.
Then it will actually be the best twdg in terms of character choice. Heck, I'd argue it already is considering how drastic your relationship between you and David/Kate can be depending on your approach of the relationship.
So far TT's TWD made characters that we can closely relate to and made them feel for them. Sorry, but a baseball star player is someone that I can't relate to and side characters are meh(Eleanor? Badger? Joan? Tripp? Clint? Gabe? Those are example that imo were huge disappointments). Not a fan of this love triangle, but I see why people like it.
But I think we can all agree Javier Garcia is smokin' hot and that makes up for a lot of it
Ok
I like Javier being the pc. It's a good switch up harking back to season 1 when u are seeing Clementine from someone else's point of view. Only now you see who she has become after mentoring her as Lee then making tough calls as her that shaped her personality. I think David and Kate are solid supporting characters and I at least find them likable.
Problem is that you can't see any difference between different Lee's and different s2 Clem's that should lead to different Clem's. They're not there and the fact that we were mislead by 42 Clementines makes it even worse. David/Kate are likable, ok.
the choices are much more impactful. Also, episode 4 was brilliant.
Not sure what you mean by impactful choices. Yeah, episode 4 was better than the rest of the season, but still doesn't convince me to like ANF.
I will admit the only thing New Frontier has better than the first two games is the graphics.
Myeah, but graphics is the last thing that I look at when I play TT's games and if you compare them to other games that came out in 2016/17 ANF still looks bad.
they've definitely improved upon making the player feel as if choices matter and making determinant characters more dynamic.
Well, S1,S2 choices don't matter and ANF choices? Idk, which one of them actually matter? I don't have much faith that those determinant characters will have a better outcome than Omid/Nick.
I liked a lot of things in this season a lot like choices mattering a bit like Conrad and ava/tripp which are my fav charecters this season
Too bad I can't find a reason to let Conrad live in the tunnel.
They made it a little less like a QTE movie, and threw in some areas to explore - not as big or as often as the fans might have had in mind - but the effort is there. They've designed the ultimate in determinant characters, and the fanbase is excited about that aspect.
The effort is there, but too bad that they made critical mistakes in the beginning. Season didn't come to an end and we don't know how determinant characters will end up, but choices mattering more is always a good thing.
Episode 3 was okay, and episode 4 was good. It definitely isn't on par with Season One because nothing can beat that season but I'd say it's around Season Two level.
1 70min episode is not enough to be on par with S2 imo.
Javi rulez
Ok
It's certainly paced far better and more competently structured than Season's 2 schizophrenic plot. And the characters certainly aren't quite as boring and predictable as Season 2's characters are.
I don't see how ANF's pudding plot with a magic van is any better.
I do think that choices are being really well done in this season we have a current number of 7 Determinant characters that can be alive at the same time
That's nice, yeah.
Definitely better direction and story than Season 2.
It's compete opposite for me.
Mostly because I like playing as Javi as him making important decisions for the group makes a lot more sense than everyone turning to a little girl for advice on what to do. Decisions seem to have more of a noticeable impact as well.
The problem I have with Javi making decisions is that it makes little sense for me that Prescott survivors follow and trust him after he got their home destroyed. Why do they even go to Richmond with them? Why they didn't try to regroup with other Prescott survivors? Why they didn't try to come back and salvage everything possible? Also, "everyone turning to a little girl" is not fixed in ANF. Clem saves Javi many times and she's suggesting what to do, like let's go to Richmond and everyone goes there. So, it's not sth that was fixed.
Well, that doesn't convince me in the slightest to like ANF. A lot of people who say something positive about ANF can't deny that ANF has major flaws and from my pov ANF deserves criticism that they get. I tried to discuss with people who like ANF before, but most of them can't say anything convincing, if at all. So, instead they just discard those people's opinion by calling them "haters", "minority", "assholes" and their opinion "horseshit".
Why? Cause you don't like it?

Well, for me Season 2's direction is Clementine getting to a place that she can call home. Christa calls it Wellington in the beginning and it's up to the player to tailor their story in what it's gotta be. Essentially ANF is almost the same for me, after spending 4 years in a magic van they got tired of it and decided to find a place to stay. Well, the thing is that even though S2 is more "all over the place", but it makes more sense why they do one or the other. The difference between those 2 though is the fact that S2 had a interesting villain and believable characters. Oh we are coming back cus suddenly David has balls).
Clem's direction and story is completely different topic. She thought that AJ is dead until the second half of the E3. So, she basically first wanted a vehicle for 0 reason and then she was running around in the woods looking for what? So, there was no real direction at the beginning for Clem.

I hope it's just extra episodes in general (so just extra episodes following the base game's story) for DLC because the season finale has come too quick, and this season has been very short.

I agree with you, I actually like it and don't mind if other people dislike it. What really annoys me though is when they won't stop talking about the fact that they dislike it. Every time I see somehow constantly talking about how much they like the game I say to myself "yeah, yeah we get it, you don't like it."
It's been a pretty dissapointing game so far in all the categories that I think make up a good game. A huge step down from the previous seasons, but feels on par with Michonne game (didn't like it either).
I get that the story in season 2 is hard to understand after episode 3, but if you play close attention you'll understand what it is about. Basically episode 4-5 was about finding a safe place for the baby to be born and a safe place for it to live, as well as a few supplies to help look after it. That's where it seemed to be going from there, and, judging from the dialogue, Kenny did mention that their next goal was to find baby formulae and keep AJ safe.

Which is dumb, considering they moved her so far off from how most of us thought of her character, gave her this history with the New Frontier(particularly David and Ava), and introduced Gabe(and Conrad) at the same time.
You'd think they'd have something interesting to do with her.

I thought the first two episodes were a bit bland but enjoyable enough, though this is the first season I've not wanted to replay before it is finished. A big part of that is the lack of a rewind feature.
The third episode I thought was great, the characters had actual growth that made choices you had to make genuinely difficult. If the season kept this level of quality I would have gone out happy.
Then episode four happened and Telltale went full on dumb. Everyone became idiotic, the story nonsensical, and choices that I felt carried no weight at all.
Episode 3 showed that Telltale can still hit it out of the park when they want to, but it doesn't seem that they want to anymore.
We have one more episode to go. Come on Telltale, I know you've got it in you.

I'm enjoying the season very much! The only problems I have with it are the episode length and the abysmal marketing campaign that made it look like it would be 50% Clem and 50% Javier. I don't even mind only playing as Javier, but at least tell people that's who you're playing as

That's a very legit point. And I actually didn't mind that aspect too much.
Which is dumb, considering they moved her so far off from how most of us thought of her character, gave her this history with the New Frontier(particularly David and Ava), and introduced Gabe(and Conrad) at the same time.
You'd think they'd have something interesting to do with her.
I Love the season so far
also javier masterrace
It also about doing the swirly on Jane, for some reason.
I love it too!
And Javi is the best.
I'm in love lol
I'm enjoying the season very much! The only problems I have with it are the episode length and the abysmal marketing campaign that made it look like it would be 50% Clem and 50% Javier. I don't even mind only playing as Javier, but at least tell people that's who you're playing as
Consumer reviews are mixed at best, but most critics gave it a positive or at least an average review.
I winced at that.
Well, can't lie I don't like some parts but I do like playing as a new protagonist. Just wish that it didn't feel a bit rushed to be frank.
Well, congrats. I'm glad you're enjoying it.
But I'm still not.
the highest I usually see is a C
I usually see 7's or 6.5/10's for the post TTB episodes. Ties That Bind also received critical acclaim despite the backlash on the forums as well.
Well that's a bit funny since you can figure out Kate, David and Javi's story archs in the first few minutes of episode 1. Tripp and Eleanor are one of hte most bland characters I've ever seen.
Its great you enjoy it but i don't and I won't ever understand how anyone who has played season 1 and even S2 before this actually enjoy this game or even rank it on the same level.
This game is not good enough when i know Telltale are capable of so much more. It's like the writers don't give a shit anymore
