I think Carol is tired of killing and is adopting some of Morgan's traits. Carol in general just seemed tired of the reality of the new world this episode.
For some reason, this episode just made me feel really sad. I feel for Maggie and Carol and how everyone is struggling with this decision. I… more even felt kind of bad for the kidnappers. The redhead especially seemed like she was trying to come off tougher than she was. I mean, they really had no idea what they were getting into when they took Carol. She deserves an academy award for her "weak little bird" performance. Still, I could see that all the killing is starting to affect her. As much as people (not me but others) hate Morgan right now, maybe he's not wrong.
I feel like they're going the "mercy" angle with Negan. When Rick and everyone get angry because Negan killed someone, he'll probably say something like "What, you're mad at me for killing one person? You killed THIRTY! I'm letting you guys off easy.", although he'd probably stick random swears in there everywhere.
In a way, Carol has saved the other survivors by dying for their sins—not literally, but figuratively, because she feels dehumanized and empty and she doesn't recognize herself—because she is the one who has been in the situation of having to kill or other group members will die, and that has saved the other group members from the burden of killing, if that makes sense. Protection of the other have cost Carol her relationship with herself. This, by no means, justifies her indirect contribution to Sam's, Jessie's and Ron's death though.
Nice little parallel that you found! I hope I could express what you were thinking.
Yo there was some strong symbolism at the end there where Carol had the cross in her hands and she was bleeding. It's like she has been ment… moreally bleeding for the group. (I'm somehow trying to relate this to Jesus dying for our sins, but I'm having trouble doing so but you get what I mean )

I enjoyed this episode, i liked the way Carol was pretending to be slightly emotionally weaker than she really was but at times her emotions where genuine as she is clearly worried about loosing her humanity. At one point a walker fell on her and i was scared for a second but thankfully it didn't manage to bite her and Maggie's close call with the knife was nerve-racking.
From reading the comics things look like they are going to get interesting really soon and i'm looking forward to seeing a certain character who will apparently appear in the next episode.

And the two she set on fire
And the smoking woman I dont doubt she feels slightly responsible for, she likely helped tie the guy up as a walker
Also is double digits 20? For me its always been 10 and above?

Yeah I mean past twenty XD my bad. (but technically it is double digits if you're being pedantic) But yeah stupid moment.
And I guess adding all those people and the fire guys thats like 24?
I though there were 4 in that room. So maybe 26?

I meant that she was fine with killing people a few episodes ago, when the kid was still alive she didn't care about him and was trying to tramatize him, and she said he would never make it which he didn't, and then she felt bad about it, she went from wanting to kill everyone and being angry at the people (like morgan) who didn't want to kill anyone, to being annoying and not even wanting to kill the bad guys, she waited before killing that one girl and it nearly killed her, I could care less about how many character development episodes they do, aslong as they don't completely take the one good thing about a character and ruin it, there are to many "I don't want to kill the enemy that wants to kill us" people in ricks group, carol was one of the ones that hated the ones that did that, but now she is one unless she snaps out of it, I thought she was making a drama scene in the room only to distract the enemy because that's what the old carol would of done, but really it was just a bad character change.
What happened to Carol shes ruined!!! I found the episode quite boring, compared to the past episodes that have been this season. The ending… more was the best part, but wtf did they not want to kill bad guys? they have no trouble killing innocent people that do not do anything to them and carol was ok with the kid dying, but carol has a problem with killing a group that was trying to make them suffer? 6/10.
Even though Rick is my favorite character, next to Hershel and Dayrl, I too share your concerns. This scene made me feel that way. enter link description here
People often reveal what they're really are when under pressure, or when they're caught off guard.
Sometimes I wonder if Rick isn't slowly starting to become the villain? I hate to say it, I really do! But notice this. How Rick and Walt have evolved into the people they were, to what they became. enter link description here
Even Daryl said: "The longer their out there, the more they become what they really are."
Well, yeah, considering there werent any big gunfights, Im surprised more people didnt find it boring. The character study episodes always g… moreet downgraded.
It seemed pretty clear that she is starting to struggle with how she has been doing things. They all struggle sometimes with letting the brutality overcome their humanity, and if they really want to build something with Alexandria and have a future, they cant let it. Morgan got to her, I think, but its not just him. Personally, I love these characters and I dont want to see them turn into blood thirsty monsters. I worry about that sometimes with Rick.
I think the R stands for Ryan, who was Lizzie's father. Carol didn't kill him but did stop him from re-animating. She may count that as a kill considering Lizzie and Mika were right there and watched her do it
At least I think it is, I don't think she killed any Woodbury soldiers, and they wouldn't be represented by an 'R'
R = ?
K, D = Karen and David
L = Lizzie
She killed 3 of the Termites in the courtyard, the candle woman is the 4th.
Ws - Wolves, she killed 7 of them
18 is the total amount of people she's killed.

That makes 15, though. Four for the first three, four Termites, and seven Wolves. They may have made a mistake with that, since the way she organized it seems to imply that there were 4 Candlewomen that died, not just Mary. Maybe if she counted Sam and his family, but even if she assumed her harsh words led to that disaster of a zombie walk, I imagine she'd have put them down on the list. Then again, she was also indirectly responsible for Pete and he's not on the list, so...

What'd I tell you all about Angela Kang, huh? She... wait... that was a very good episode. Shit. Goes to show how even a seeming lack of movement or meaty material in the story doesn't hinder good writing, the polar opposite of "Still".
Oh, there were some goofy moments here and there, to be sure, but it had a lot of really good character moments for Carol and Maggie and the new characters
(even though, or perhaps especially because they only lasted an episode), characterized and added to the Saviors as a whole a little more, and was quite intense throughout. That such a brutal episode was carried entirely by female characters was pretty cool too. And there were some really cool subtle elements like Carol leaving tracks behind when all we could see was the ground, and the parallel of Paula no longer counting when she hit double digits, unlike Carol. I kinda wish Molls had lived a bit longer. She was like the female Merle, and was the most memorable of the group for me.
Alright, you win this round, Kang. But we shall meet again one day.

I have but its been awhile and not regularly since after issue 100, why?
Oh ok. Its you don't seem to remember Dwight.
Is he the guy who got his face ironed?

Yes, he even has the crossbow.

Then yeah, I know who he is. Still hate him.
I dont blame her. Unless youre a total sociopatch, it has to take a toll on your heart and soul.
Well prepare to hate him again.
And I hear Robert Kirkman is writing the episode.

Is that certain character Dwight?
Next week should be interesting. Especially seeing Abe & Eugene in the promo.
Well I think Carol is in double digits now.
Headshot the woman that stabbed Maggie. Killed Paula and caused the guys death. So 20 / 21
Definitely Something to Fear.... XD

damn this episode just got me hooked on TWD again. Cant wait for Jeffrey dean morgan to bring negan to life
Mayyybe

He was confirmed by casting for the episodes.
26 to 29. She killed 3 more Wolves she forgot to list.
"What, you're fucking mad at me for killing one goddamm person? You fucking killed THIRTY! I'm letting you motherfuckers off easy, shithead!"
Carol = Terminator? Hmmm..
In all honesty at the end with Daryl you can tell it's affecting her now
Yeah. Morgan and Alexandria really got to her and made her reflected on things.
Great character development from season 1 to now
EDIT: Shit this was the first post in this thread

It reminds me quite a lot of a scene from Breaking Bad.

Still funny
The second half of season 6 has been consistently amazing, I can't wait for the finale now!
What are those numbers/letters again?
Maybe he will kill someone and they will finally cut off Rick's hand.

That part where Carol just burned, like, 4 Saviors trapped in a little room? That was some fucked-up shit.
Could be, I didn't even know his name was Ryan.

Maybe Carol's just bad at math.
Oh he's going to be great. The fact that he knows the source material and just "gets" Negan only makes him better.
