A Definite improvement over the last episode. Great cinematography, detailed gore, tough choices, great dialogue and voice acting. Was also really cool to get more insight on Michonnes past. However, once again the length is disappointing.
Now I'm not trying to defend the episodes' lengths, but just to put things in perspective for a minute:
Even if episode 3 is also an hour long, the total playtime of Michonne comes out to about 4 and a half hours. For the sake of comparison, S2's run time was about 8 and a half hours. So the miniseries is still over half as long as S2, which isn't all that bad, all things considered.
9/10 was awesome, needs some hubs. I didn't mind the length since it was actually convient as I slept in when i got home and didn't want the episode be the only thing I did before I went to bed.
Choice: First of all, I have yet to play an opposite playthrough of this game, so I am still unsure of the impact of choice. But choices in this episode did seem to matter, or at the very least were very difficult to make. However, I don’t know how much choices from the first episode carried over to this one, since the episode tackles different environments and characters.
Story: Give No Shelter is short - shorter than the first episode even, clocking in at just over an hour - but strangely I was okay with it. The pacing felt much more natural, with a good amount of slow time devoted to real character development as opposed to the rushed introduction of characters in the first episode. I left the episode satisfied that what needed to be told was told.
The perceived danger is ramped up. The flimsy foundation of possibly stolen supplies is replaced with a strong reason why Norma and the Monroe group would come after Michonne, and that makes the threat feel very real. Similar to the second episode of Tales from the Borderlands, this episode is focused on getting from point A to point B while being chased down by antagonists with some character building moments in between. There is a great balance of action and calculation. There are moments that are downright brutal or gory, but usually serve a purpose. Except one. That one was just to look cool.
Characters: This episode did a great job at not only introducing characters that are immediately sympathetic and interesting, but also improving the existing cast of characters from the first episode. It had a very similar feel to the introduction of the cabin group back in The Walking Dead Season Two, which I thought was one of the highlights of that game. There are also hints of possible diversity in the new cast which is great too. Though, the player’s feelings towards characters might just be preference.
** Music/Graphics:** The introduction music is unchanged from the first episode, but that’s fine - I personally love “Gun in my Hand”. Again, much of the music was reused, however there was a particularly touching track that stood out to me during a heart-to-heart with one of the characters. I don’t know if I’ve heard it before, but I thought it fit well in the scene. There are still times I think the music does not have a consistent volume and is either too loud or soft for the scene. I was also a little dissapointed there was no liscensed music for the credits, but maybe that’s just me being spoiled from previous Telltale episodes. On a side note, I like the diversity in the walker designs and character designs, and the menu screen as always.
Gameplay: This episode relies pretty heavily on QTEs. I normally don’t mind them, and I understand their purpose in Telltale games, however there were times even I was wondering when I would be finished pressing Q and then E. I guess that’s the price when incorporating more action into the game, but adding a dialogue choice between prompts might have broken up some of the monotony of button mashing. Also there were hardly any hubs to speak of, except for a mildly confusing investigation hub (like The Wolf Among Us). But there was enough opportunity to talk to other characters that hubs weren’t much needed in this episode anyways.
This episode does a great job polishing the rough edges of the first one. While not perfect, it holds up the miniseries as a compelling story to play through and leaves me with enough intrigue to become invested in the finale.
8.5 of out 10. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Very tense through the whole episode. Good action and kills. To both humans and walkers.
The choices felt very real, very hard. This time felt more real than previous episodes, Trying to choose whats best for everyone not just for Michonne. Because I thought that if I did ............... Then it might put people in danger more or make situations worse!
Reasoning for 8.5 is the fact that there were on occasion for the xbox some frame rate issues, freezing at random places. Other than that a great episode!! Can not wait for the conclusion.
Woah woah woah. Not Just Aussie's. EVERYONE has it, Except Playstation players. Telltale released a statment on social media about the problems.
31st March is the release on PSN
9/10: Well written, amazingly shot, voice acting continues to be great, characters got some good development, only negative was that it was pretty short, but if that's all the time they needed, then that's all the time they needed.
However there was a particularly touching track that stood out to me during a heart-to-heart with one of the characters. I don’t know if I’ve heard it before, but I thought it fit well in the scene.
If you are talking about the conversation with a new blonde, I agree that the music was amazing. I liked that one particularly for some reason too.

8/10. I experienced the typical Telltale wacky bugs/laggy gameplay every now and then. The episode was definitely short, but a mini series is a mini series. The intro was a bit oddly written, but as the episode gradually went on it kept getting better and better. All of it was so dramatic, keeping me on the edge of my seat the entire way through. A great middle act, overall.
I'm playing episode 2 on the PS3. I don't know if anyone else had a lagging problem, but I had to restart my system twice and it almost lagged out a third time in order for me to get through this episode. I understand digital games are buggy, but this is the most trouble I've had out of any Telltale game. It could be my PS3, I dunno. First, it stopped when Michonne was getting out of the camp, then it nearly stopped when they got through the gate to Sam's dad's house, it stopped again when I was cauterizing her, and when Norma's brother broke in, his lower half was stuck in the ground. Michonne basically had to beat up a midget version of him (pretty hilarious) but still annoying.
All in all a good chapter. I'll give the content a 9/10 because it had enough backstory as well as dynamics (going back and forth between Michonne's psychosis and reality).
I'll give the quality of MY personal experience a 5/10 because this particular chapter was so buggy.

Oh my god, would you stop being so goddamn edgy? Everyone has different opinions, if you can't respect that, you probably shouldn't be on the internet.

It was alright. Definitely better than the last episode. The length didn't bother me as much, at least we got some character development. I'd give it a nice 8/10.
I give it at least a 8.5/10. The episode was so intense for me, the choices were more difficult to make and this episode made me care about Sam's family. And actually, it took me 2 hours to finish it instead of 1, but maybe it's because I failed some QTEs due to my horrible FPS lmao.
Oh boy, here comes the angry part...
While I loved episode 2, I have to say that John's death is so fucking stupid. Like, a bit bad written moment. Sure, I didn't expect him to die but WHO LEAVES THE WHOLE GATE OPEN?! HE DEALT WITH THE FREAKING WALKER ARM, SO WHY DIDN'T HE CLOSE THE GATE?! I'd rate the episode at least a 9.5 out of 10 if John's death wasn't that stupid (at least in my opinion).
Meh recycled and boring. Only time i felt anything was with randall towards the end. They dont even have the illusion of choice anymore. And episodes are getting way shorter (i completed these two in just over two hours) so none of the side characters are ever explored enough until they end up dying. And you know Michonne will survive anyway so theres no suspense.
Im glad the people writing this are not currently working on season 3.
It was cool, solid. 8/10
But what about The reasons why Michonne left de group and came back?
And I would like to see something different, a greater story.

being on the internet doesn't mean respecting other people's opinions. But I acknowledge that they have different opinions.
But writing is kinda like cooking. And it's obvious when something doesn't taste as good as people say it does.

9 outta 10.

You are not going to reason with someone having a temper tantrum.

The badass comic michonne I know and love.
The dad was stupid.

Its not working for lots of people on PC. Myself included.
Untrue. PC players and Android players are also unable to access the episode.
Xbox wins finally.
Xbox had a game breaking bug that needs a patch apparently :P
Well my shitbox survived. All that matters

So I chose the guy on the left..... HOLY FUCK. I didn't know I was gonna turn the guy into a damn jack o lantern!! 11/10 would shoot again

Overall: 7/10
We got over that quickly.
I really enjoyed it. I thought it was better than episode 1. I have to admit, I like this series more than I thought I would. Its dark and hard core.
I'd pay $5 to see that happen
9/10 i love it i cant wait for episode 3
It's laggy Because the Telltale Engine Pretty much Sucks on Consoles. Especially on Last gen Hardware.
6/10 and I'm being generous
Story seems so recycled. Feels like they almost forgot about the comic world to develop this conflict.
lol everyone saying the story is "well written"

It was okay... Just way too short
8/10
Love the opening music and the choices were pretty nice. The most important thing is that I enjoyed it.
8/10 - Solid episode, great moments and scenes, very interesting concepts and ideas explore throughout.

8.5/10 really good, better than the first episode.
Yeah, I thought it was stupid too! He could have just thrown the damn arm over the fence!
Or it means your taste buds really, really suck
your whole mouth sucks
what about that, huh
