True some of the solutions are pure ass...but there are some really solid suggestions in there as well. I love the season...but I would be a liar if I said every choice they made was a good one. People are bitching because they are fans of the series and the characters.
Honestly, I don't think the screenshots part takes as much time as Telltale has led us to believe. Saying that it takes a particularly considerable amount of time to find good, non-spoilery screens is probably just a method of stalling for time and convincing people that the episode is near completion.
They're more ahead than usual on the episodes, so they're probably 90% done with it. I think the main things they have to do now is the trailer and find what screenshots they're going to release.
Yeah, I have this feeling they put their A-team on GotG, much like how they put their A-team on TFTBL.
Though I'd question why they decided the A-team was better off doing Guardians, instead of their flagship series. You know, TWD, that game everyone's been waiting two years for? The game that really put them on the map? The game that most of the people working on Guardians probably worked on in the past, and are most likely very familiar with?
Maybe they think putting the new blood on the heavily anticipated new season of their most popular series will provide a better learning experience for them. High-stakes.
Not saying that I know how to do management, but if I were in charge, I would probably switch around. Let the fresh blood work on Guardians of the Galaxy with a few experienced people to keep them advised and things in order. I think letting new blood work on an important game as Walking Dead is risky. But then again Eric Stirpe and Pierre Shorette are among their best writers (In my opinion) after having worked on TWD Season 2.

Another long wait for a nice and short episode. After this season this may be my last. Telltale has too many things on the go and these games are being slacked on. I mean what was the point of the 2nd episode for it to be short? So we have 3 more episodes at an hr and a half? Wow. TALK ABOUT A SHORT SEASON. Again!!! I can hear ODB "I got your money!!" Playing at Telltale.
I think it's on the previous page of the thread, I'm using the mobile site so I'm not sure if pages are the same length. It's a twitter post with a podcast interview with her, its about an hour long but someone replied with a bunch of quotes from her about various things regarding the first two episodes, as well as the next one. She said she's only recorded one scene so far for episode 3.
Melissa Hutchison; she said March at the earliest but probably April. Apparently, they have barely even recorded anything for episode 3.
Does anyone have a link to this?
http://steamcommunity.com/id/1C313URN10
I've got this feeling inside my bones that it will not live up to the expectations like S1 and S2… more did. I wanna interact more with the charachers, more stuff to do, I dunno, something stuff. If not so, refund is knocking at the door.
Thanks, I found it but @Dont_Look_Back summed it up nicely there too. Jesus, it seems like they're struggling to keep it together at Telltale right now.

Seriously though, this needs to be addressed:
If the rest of the season is as short as episode 1 and 2, 1-1.5 hours, then we are really l… moreooking at a 5 and a half to a 7 hour campaign?!
Seriously?
Season 1 was around 13 hours for its campaign, while season 2 was close to 11 hours. If ANF is around 6-7 hours.... for a $24.99 TTG? I'm seriously gonna be pissed, and probably talk to Steam support about a refund. I'll go ahead and say this right now: it would be so cheap, sleazy, and unacceptable to be goaded into a 25 dollar episodic game that has historically surpassed well over 10 hours of gameplay, only to find it barely passing 7...
Can TTG make a statement and address this concern, please?
This is certainly very revealing, and not in a flattering way. I understand that there are difficulties involved with creating any type of game, but the fact that they're still rewriting; and that not even Telltale seemingly has any idea what's going on or where the Season is even going; and the fact that Melissa generally sounds as underwhelmed as a big part of the fanbase I think says a lot. It is an underwhelming game. I think even the people who enjoy it can agree that it could have been much more. And I know that we're only two episodes in, but Melissa's little insight does not give me hope for the rest of the game.
Also, about Telltale "taking their time" until March/April...if all of that is wasted (harsh word, but you get my meaning) on rewrites and not even used to optimize the game, then that's pretty much just a longer wait with no apparent changes to the costumers; because we don't know what would have happened, we only know what we got a few months late and will not be able to actually appreciate the changes made to the story. To us, it will just feel like a two month longer wait.
In case ya'll don't want to listen to the 1 hour and 20 min, I typed it all up.

I don't think we can trust Meli about episodes release dates because she doesn't really know much about it i think we should wait when telltale say something about it!
I think it release in late January or at least in early February i mean come on, all Telltale new games episodes releases in 1-2 months so i think The Walking Dead A New Frontier will be to!
Yeah i really don't understand why telltale cares so much about "newcomers to the series" because i don't think that there is so much of that people that didn't play previous seasons, most people wait for continuation of the story and they gave us "a story that good for both the newcomers and old players" you should care only about players that want the continuation of Clem story, that in this series since Season 1 (or at least Season 2) and not "newcomers" the "newcomers" should play previous Seasons if they want to understand the story + it's good for Telltale themselvs because they are get more money not only for Season 3 but also for Season 1 and 2 because some people who want to understand the story started to buy old Seasons along with new one and it will be more money for them. So i don't understand Telltale at all!
I swear telltale are getting full of themselves. Like they are trying WAY TO FUCKING HARD on appealing to new players and it's not even this… more game. They keep pulling out these new titles to appeal to new players instead of giving fans new seasons to games that people ACTUALLY want and now they're trying to make TWD one of those new titles and it sounds like they fucked up big time. I've been a huge fan of telltale for a while but something is definitely changing when it comes down to their games and the way they do things at the company. It's pretty worry some
Well, you would have thought they'd improve the waiting time between each episode by now, but it just seems to get longer and longer. I'm a patient guy, but it is undeniably irritating.
That awkward moment when Melissa sounds like us...On a lighter note, I love Melissa. And Melissa thinks that episode 3 won't be out until March or April. Yikes...That's a pretty long while.
april????? i cant belive people are fine with what telltale is doing to them. i say "them" because it doesnt concern me anymore. not buying season 3 is probably one of best decisions in my life. you people are being scammed and doing nothing about it.

Yeah, their defense is pretty substantiated. You knew that there would be a wait between each episode and accepted that as soon as you bought the game.
You win anyway since you didn't buy it. Neither did I, but I still feel like I'm missing out. Can't help but scream every time a let's player makes a decision different to mine.

But she's a voice actress for a main character, and can at least judge the time it will still take to record her lines etc. Also, she's apparently involved enough to know that the writing team is rewriting like crazy, which is never a sign for a fast episode release (though that's not necessarily a bad thing).

The sad thing is that I simply cannot bring myself to care about the "delay" (technically not a delay since we never had a date). I'm just not invested in this game at all. I feel reminded of 2014/2015 when I expected Tales to be a distraction from the much more anticipated (by me) GoT, and it turned out to be almost the other way around. The difference is that I liked both games and just thought Tales was better overall, whereas last year I expected Batman to be a distraction before TWD arrived, but instead it's a more extreme version of Tales/GoT: Batman is a lot better than ANF (even if we only judge by the first two episodes).

I actually prefer a longer wait for a longer/better Episode. There hasn't been a game of Telltale, that proves, that it's new Release shedule worked. Be it because of short episodes, technicle problems or just the overall quality of the story.
I can wait too but it's just that TTG had 2 years to prepare for A New Frontier. I expected them to deliver something amazing, intriguing, and to deliver it on time. I liked the episodes but that's about it. I expected to love them. They had 2 years and they don't even have episode 3 yet. I'm sorry, I just want to express my thoughts on this, I still very much liked the episodes while playing them.

It would make more sense for it to come out in april or the summer as i believe a hint at this was the no "next time" preview. Granted they could have just removed it this season to me it seems that perhaps their not sure where they want to take the story next and actually need time to focus on the future direction of the game. And while this is reaching far they could be releasing it later to reformat the rest of the season due to the fan complaints and criticism. To be honest i never bought into this monthly release suggestion just because for The walking dead it typically takes 2-3 months or more and possibly longer if they have more projects to work on.
That's why I said they should only look at the valid criticisms about the game. A lot of the complaints are just people bitching about the game and adding no input whatsoever. One example of constructive criticism would be people complaining about the small amount of playable Clem (if not in the present they need to make either multiple flashbacks an episode or much longer flashbacks).
This, just fucking this, even if they did want to bring in new players, why not continue the story properly, instead of doing a halfassed continuation that most of their fans is gonna be unhappy with.
When I come to a new game series (in fact I only played this series last month or so), I always think to myself, wow cool, there is already 2 games out, that means I get to play a ton of stuff, and get a ton of story before I have to wait for a new game to come out.
Also, why alienate your fanbase, when you already have a pretty fucking big fanbase, in a game that is actually pretty niche (story based, many quicktime events, not that much gameplay), just because you reinvent the series you are not going to sell Call of Duty numbers, most of the people interested in these types of games probably already own them, considering that there are not that many dialogue focused narrative games.
Dont even get me started on their decision to just pump the game full of actionscenes instead of the slowpaced, storydriven, characterdriven games we had before, its like Telltale either dont care, or just dont know what their fanbase wants

The problem is that they have all their good writers working on Guardians. So the writers working on ANF are scrambling.

I don't see how having to wait is a scam.

So much with the monthly releases. I knew something was off when after episode 2 there wasn't a Next Time preview.
Even Season 1 and 2 had "Next time on..." even though each episode was released every 2 months or longer
Because... Uh... He wants a new friend perhaps?
Melissa huchinson said it could be march or even April it comes out. Apparently they've only recently started voicing episode 3
I knew she was Blasian!

Maybe they're improving the game, a long wait isn't necessarily bad. Because of this we could come out on the other end with the game we expected.
