They thought havning some bland guy as the protagonist would make us forget about Clem? ok, dont get me wrong, Javier is a nice guy and all, but everyone that is still alive in his family is just so unbearable, David is actually the character out of his family I like the most. I also really dislike playing as an adult again, playing as a child was really good at emphasizing how dangerous this world actually is, but playing as an adult, surrounded by adults, who are all armed with guns, its just not very threatening, there hasnt been a single moment where I actually felt like there was any danger in A New Frontier so far, the only reason the attack at the junkyard got dangerous was because Gabe and Kate were stupid enough to run through a hail of gunfire.
There has been no bloodfreezing/shocking moments, like when lee fights the first walkers in season 1, or when Clem gets ambushed by the walker in the shed in season 2, the tension feels really lost compared to earlier games, "But look at all this action, explosions, Gunfire!" I dont care about all that, all I want is for the characters to get some actual development, and the world to feel real, not like some Michael Bay film set
Honestly if they fade Clem out of the story, or make the next game without her, I am probably not gonna play anymore, unless they do an amazing job.
Its not even because A New Frontier is that bad, I actually quite like it, I just fear for the future of this series
I'm quite surprised that Melissa spoke up and was so candid about her issues with the way S3 has treated...
I don't think TTG will kill o… moref Clem in retaliation as some people have suggested, but they could cut her role/scenes even further if they are miffed at what she said.
Telltale really seems to be thinking that Javi will be enough for the fans at this point. I seem to vaguely recall Job saying we'll forget about Clem once we hear about Javi's intense and compelling story ("Clem who?")
There's no way the fans will be ok with Clem being killed off, but I could see the writers thinking a more reduced role would not have negative effects on the season.
... Or maybe the company is not that petty or at least has good business sense and won't do anything to Clem's role this season.
I hope we get more Clem/AJ interaction, maybe even a whole episode with them, that has honestly been my favorite part (there isnt many) of A New Frontier so far.
Clem just looks happy, and way more like her season 1/2 counterpart when she is with AJ, she is relaxed, happy.
I also really hope that they have a scene with Clem laughing, I cant even remember when we last, if ever, saw Clem laugh
I've really been enjoying the season thus far and what they're doing with it, but hearing a lot of Clem's flashbacks got cut depresses me. W… moreorst part is you can tell because she's barely playable in those episodes, and then in Episode 2 Clementine is hardly there [in particular if you didn't choose to stick around with her and completely miss that segment with her at the beginning of Episode 2] I really love what they're doing with Javier and his family, but for a two protagonist game, it's feeling more like Clementine is being sidelined, and I was prepared for that, but not by this much.
God I just hope those flashbacks have been moved to appear in a later episode, rather than being cut entirely. Maybe with what happened with her and AJ being separated, Telltale want for Clementine to share it with Javier, rather than her just spacing out and having short Vietnam flashbacks. I swear if they've cut some good stuff again I'm sad.
I'm happy Melissa is speaking her mind. It would've been annoying if she was sugarcoating season three like everyone else who works at telltale has done.
I am kinda glad people are finally realizing this.. I said it since season 2 started but I felt like the only one...I hope telltale listens If not I give up on them.
Have you seen the sales? Michonne did awful. You know what did worse than Michonne? Batman. You know what's doing worse than Batman? Sea… moreson 3. It was doing good until the sales actually started going down due to returns. S2 had way more sales in its first week than Season 3 these last three weeks combined.
Maybe this is all a nightmare that we all have at the same time and can't wake up from it.
Oh good, now I have an excuse to punch people, so I can attempt to wake them up

Hmmm more focus on clem at this point? If they do that would've been even the point of bringing Javi as playable? If they are going that route better scrap these two episodes all together and make Clem the actual main character. If they try to shift the focus now from Javi as a playable character he will end up like terribly shitty, underdeveloped Lee replacement instead of an actual character.
In case ya'll don't want to listen to the 1 hour and 20 min, I typed it all up.
Speaker: "There's not enough Clementine"
Meli: "I agre… moree"
Meli: (Talking about the alone flashbacks/finger.) "We only saw it get crushed we didn't see it come off....we haven't gotten to that part ye---" Then she gets cut off by the speaker. Another flashback awaiting?
Meli: (Talking about episode length) " I was sad when the first episode ended I was like what the fuck? Really? That was so short! I liked the pace I thought it was a really good pace but I was like... oh. It only took like an hour to play through the first episode. Considering each episode of S2 was about an hour and a half to two hours. So I have to admit I was a little..---
Speaker: "--that's why they released e1 and 2?"
Meli: "*....yeaaahh... they did that, uh, well there was so much rewriting these episodes, where, I didn't know what was going to be left in them and what wasn't… [view original content]
If you look at the media and forums there is no sign of awareness. It feels like there is no dialogue between fans and developers. We want to be heard, but it feels so far that we're being ignored. There's no TTG employees who gives a sign that they go through the feedback and try to make a good game. It feels the opposite TBH.
Well, i loved season 1 & 2. Season 3 was really good for refund, i rather watch end of it from youtube because decisions doesn't mean s**t.
Luckily u can ask for refund if u bought it from steam.
If I were you, I'd pretend I spent the money on a really good sandwich instead
That's my go-to when I start questioning what I spent money on-- pretending I bought some really tasty meal
don't judge me
You know, a couple of months I would have disagreed with this and tried to defend Telltale. But lately, I would have to agree with statements like this. I still think Telltale releases great games, and there are a lot of highly talented and skilled writers, designers, animators, and other people at Telltale. But their complete ignorance of legit criticisms and what the fans are saying, especially on their own forums, is appalling. Telltale's PR and management needs a series revamp, this cannot continue.
This company does not give one good god damn about us or our complaints. They are after new money and new players. As long as they get good reviews and can tweet out meaningless accolades this series will only suffer

I was looking forward to getting this game after playing S1&2 but after reading all these reviews I am glad I waited.
I am sick of the illusion of choice and lazy writing (killing off characters just to simplify the story). What's more annoying is not having our concerns addressed by telltale.. I think I will just vote with my wallet and not purchase this game, and I'd gladly pay 60 bucks for a game with multiple timelines where my choices actually alter the story.
Telltale games have such amazing characters/character progression, treating that so cheaply makes me not very excited for upcoming games. I do hope they change their ways, I really do love their stories and characters.

I'm sorry that I'm so confused, is my sarcasm game weak?
Can you share the source? I managed to get numbers only on steamspy.
Edit: Ooops... didn't read till the end... so it's steamspy.
Sarcasm game? Were you being sarcastic or are you implying that I was?
How could they possibly be MORE aware since people have been ranting since day one?
I sure hope not, I made a lot of progress in my work and I don't want it taken away XD.
You miss long waits? A lot of people didnt.
That you were, I had no idea what you meant by putting most helpful in quotation marks.
Oh good, now I have an excuse to punch people, so I can attempt to wake them up
You mean pinch? Right?
... right?
Good luck, im a stubborn sleeper.
I was quoting something that Steam uses as an option to search up reviews and also because I've already put up above.
I don't know how you managed to assume that was sarcasm...
Wouldn't/ couldn't they just replace her voice actor?
Oh no, I definitely mean punching.
Like, one big OOOMPH, right in the face.

Who knew it took one voice actor to agree with s3 being bad that nearly the whole forum now thinks it's bad. A little late some of you!
ok then
as long as it ain't me.

A hashtag is leaking out in your reply!
Uh... you do know the majority was complaining about Season 3 shortly after release?
this feels like the forums @ telltale after reading this interview
I more meant the forums have now exploded again and there are way less people defending.
edited out, thank you for noticing the mistake, I'm still getting used to 'em

I would rather spent on a cake made out of 5 good layers of chocolate...
food metaphor
Wasn't the voice actor of Lee also the same actor for Luchious (bad spelling) in Batman ? They sounded identical.
Any comments from Job, Kevin or any TellTale staff since the "Melissa's bomb" ?
If not, don't you think it'll became weird if they remain silent ?

If youre expecting them to respond to this now, I wouldnt count on it. I doubt they would feel like its worth trying to wade through the hate.
Telltale won't remember that
lol

Yo Deltino, stupid question but how did you write the "don't judge me" in smaller font and italicized?
Haha !!
But they remembered when I skipped the end credits in TFTB !
They have to remember that !
:-)
