Bah Humbug.
LeChuck would never want Morgan..
Although Morgan and LeChuck would make an awesome pairing.
I'm not too sure about this anymore. Him falling in love with some other woman would free the plot from the neverending "LeChuck-after-Elaine" subject- Plus, I wonder whether that "Le" in "LeChuck" and "LeFlay" is a coincidental commonness?

I agree with your statement.
It's been the staple of the Monkey Island series since the beginning.
I was a bit worried when they de-voodoo'd LeChuck, to be honest I hope he gets re-voodoo'd by the end..
However your, Le note is quite interesting.
Yeah, I see what you mean. I like the human LeChuck as most of the people in here do but I really want him to have an evil master plan that involves eliminating Guybrush and winning Elaine for himself - at least for one more time. ;-)

Well, when Guybrush first meet LeChuck on Spoon Isle in episode 2, Lechuck is saying "Go and write with the shingle, the clam has almost grown feet." to a monkey, while LeChuck has a pretty evil facial expression, before he notices Guybrush and goes all nice.
I'm pretty sure LeChuck has something fishy going on.
All the way for Elaine! Let's look at it this way: While Elaine did sucker punch Guybrush, Morgan hacked off his hand clean off, which in turn worried Elaine (and of course question the whereabouts of his wedding ring).
Even after punching him in the jaw, making him hang over a pit holding a heavy treasure chest to his supposed demise, and sending him off to do silly errands, Elaine loves Guybrush where as Morgan (and don't get me wrong, I think she is a very cool new character) pretty much dropped all enthusiasm when she sees Guybrush negotiating as oppose to hacking and slashing the pirates in Chap. 3. I did feel bad for Morgan when she was hitting on Guybrush and he just brushed her off like it was nothing....but I think that just proves his loyalty to Elaine, and also Elaine got pretty P.Oed at Lechuck when he took his time and she wanted to go quickly to Guybrush. And this is just a fan's perspective, but I think Elaine purposely didn't go with Guybrush because she fears that because she has the pox (her not being aware Guybrush has it as well) she would harm the one person she cares about most.
The case for Morgan:
Telltale has been doing a lot more work to endear Morgan as a character and a love interest for Guybrush to the players then they have for Elaine, and in Ron Gilbert's interpretation of Elaine's character their relationship would never have resulted in her and Guybrush being married. That and Elaine's character has become much less dynamic since Curse...
The case for Elaine:
She's been Guybrush's lawfully wedded wife for two games now! Breaking them up would cast a pall over the previous two MI games (especially Curse) and the only way it would work would be for Elaine to leave Guybrush, since Guybrush leaving Elaine would be pretty damn out of character!
Male. Chose Morgan. It's different and would be a fresh switch up for the series.
Unless TTG comes up with a way to make us/me want Elaine again. Or at least make it acceptable to us/me by the end of the game to have Elaine back with Guybrush (or stay with Guybrush, depending on how you look at it).

....But yeah, I'm all for Elaine.
Very well said. I couldn't have done it any better and I fully agree.
If youd asked me this about a week before episode 3 came out, i would have said hed stick with elaine, seeing as my girlfriend at the time looked like elaine and for a joke i used to call her plundy bunny, well....that bitch up and cheated on me. so yknow what Guybrush, go plough that morgan chick, hell of a set on her!
These "idiots" are expressing their opinions, it's called freedom of speech, in case you don't know.
And in my humble opinion, Elaine does love Guybrush (though maybe not as much as he loves her). Would she have been worried sick about him after the explosion on her ship, or would she have been mad at him for losing his wedding ring (along with his hand), if she didn't love him?
oooh so freedom of speech. I guess i don't have it cause i cant even express my opinion.
All joking aside some people here may not have freedom of speech.... I.E. people from China do not get to view youtube videos they are blocked by their government.
For me it's always been about how they're acting. Guybrush is loyal to Elaine which is definelty good. Now an exotic young girl, who reminds him of the woman he fell in love with appears, and actually has interest in him. Is Guybrush attracted? Certainly. In love? Certainly not.
Elaine does care for Guybrush, but it seems weird to yell at someone for losing a wedding ring when the bigger problem is he lost a hand and then hand your ring back. We're starting to wonder what type of love she has for Guybrush. She's worried, yes, but it's looking less like a wife and more like a mother or big sis.
Morgan's downside is her obsessiveness, and mood swings. To be fair we've seen a lot of her character. We have seen her already deal with a false image she had.
If I voted, my bet at the moment would be neither. Morgan needs to face a bit more of herself, and Elaine needs to show plainly even if subtly that not only does she love Guybrush, she is in love with him.
You know this explains the neccessity for 'Execution of Guybrush Threepwood'. Something to get past Elaine's reserve perhaps.
I'm surprised so few female gamers are voting in this channel... I wonder if a greater percentage of guys that play the MI series use the forums or if there just aren't that many women who play MI.
(I personally know 2 women that are fans of it, and only one other guy, so I find this surprising)
Guybrush is devoted to Elaine, who despite acting a little odd towards him this whole season is possibly the only woman in the Caribbean able to tollerate his ineptitude.
Morgan is just an infatuated fan girl who is gradually becoming more and more disillusioned as she gets to know the true Guybrush. I think the old LeChuck is probably better suited to her. Also in ep 3 if you try give her Guybrush picture back she refuses and then talks about getting a full colour LeChuck, could be seen as a bit of fore shadowing.
Here's an interesting query... Out of CMI, EMI and TMI (so far) how many times has Elaine been truly affectionate towards Guybrush? How many times has she been physically or verbally abusive towards him? If memory serves, we're not looking at too even of a ratio...
Not to say that Morgan is any better since she's sliced off his hand and knocked him out (but then again, she isn't his wife...)

That sort've reminds me of that Chef in South Park query. "How many times has Chef helped us out with our problems?" "Four."
Having never played CMI, I've got to stop and think. Theres that little cuddle in the opening cinematic of EMI and then... then.. theeeeen... don't help me on this, I'm sure I'll get it....
Here's something people have kinda forgotten about. Remember Elaine's reaction when LeChuck lost his voodoo curses?
"Woof."

Not to put too fine a point on it but...maybe..Guybrush...likes it...that way...o_x
Btw, I'm so far noting this whole game feels a lot like Guybrush's quest to getting laid (after his long trip of creating the Voodoo Cutlass, which I'm assuming took at least 3 months or sth), specifically with Elaine (I mean end of Chapter 2, the reward for all his efforts? He wanted some snuggling goddammit, give that man some snuggling D=)
Dude's incredibly single-minded so far with that quest o_O
Elaine just wants the whole situation to be finished so she can go back to semi-peaceful times with Guybrush.
If that means she has to make him do something he doesn't want to do, then so be it.

Seriously, she said she'd make things worth his while...
i'm male and i voted elaine. too much out o character for guybrush to leave her. but i feel sorry for morgan. i hope she gets someone too, preferably not setup as the tragedy ending and a wedge between elaine and guybrush.
especially if elaine starts abusing guybrush about spending x amount of time alone with a strange woman....you know...as opposed to her spending as much if not more time alone with lechuck.
I don't get why everyone thinks Elaine treats Guybrush badly I mean remember the honeymoon reference, Maybe its only when things need to get done. Cause it is pretty clear that Guybrush is easily distracted all the time.
And Im a male who voted for him to stay with Elaine
Elaine is definitely the love of guybrushes life.
She gave up her credibility as governor for the love of him.
Morgan however had no qualms whatsoever to cutting off his hand to achieve her aims and to get noticed in her career.
What else would she cut off to further her ambitions one asks oneself.;)

Much like Monkey Island its self, which appears to be lacking at the moment!

I know it'll end up being Elaine but I can still wish otherwise. I wouldn't want to see Morgan broken hearted again.

Me, I want Guybrush to win.

Agreed, definitely well put. And I agree completely.
Factual and true.
Yeh, I'm surpised people are so easily won over too.
