I don't completely hate it. I enjoyed it the first time I played it. It only makes me sad how they betrayed the spirit of the games.
And the continuity errors were just annoying. I never swallowed the whole "Toothroot=Marley" thing completely.
Things I like about Escape:
Carla getting drunk
You can say something flirtatious to almost every female, and Guybrush will say it in a really creepy voice.
Marco Pollo
Little Guybrush and Little LeChuck
The lava puzzle
The time paradox in the swamp puzzle would've been great if it wasn't so annoying
LeChuck changing into his 3 forms
Stan's jacket in 3D
I am a huge MI fan, and I hate EMI.
I hate what they did to Guybrush and Elaine's characters (and Elaine's voice), I hate how they made LeChuck less scary, turned everything into smurfville, introduced Monkey Kombat (spelled silly like that AND sucked arse), had the audacity to make the "real secret of monkey island" chapter be about a robot, and had starbucks. It was a terrible game, even as a standalone, start to finish.
I actually kinda liked that all, He did have a tough enemy. Continuity is the only major disappointment for me. That being said hindsight is 20/20 and everything could be better.
I never actually finished Escape. It was a rental from blockbuster on the PS2, and I had to return it just before I hit Monkey Kombat. looks like my timing couldnt have been better after reading all these reviews of dissapointment. I did get a kick outa Stan selling "timeshares" (probably scouted the premises to see when the actual owners were away on vacation, as opposed to having any real investment in the property himself)

+1!
It's not that I exactly *hate* EMI, actually I don't hate it, but I can't say I enjoyed it nearly as much as the first three games - it had its funny moments, but the controls were crazy, the 3D graphics were jagged and rather cheap sometimes, and most importantly, the game didn't quite _feel_ like the previous Monkey Islands - it had a completely different atmosphere and it introduced too many crazy foreign elements that didn't really fit into what I believed was the typical, canon MI atmosphere and style. Therefore, EMI didn't feel like a canon MI game to me as a long-time MI fan... That was arguably the worst thing about it that I can name. I know that many people feel differently, and some people loved EMI - and personally I think it was an OK game, maybe even a good game, and a decent quest, but it just didn't live up to my expectations as a MI series game.
I'm happy that ToMI is here to course-correct... ToMI is everything that EMI wasn't.
Personally I'd wait a day longer - instead of having hardcore bugs due to rushing things in the last minute because of an anticipated release date [..]

I have finished it at least 3 times I think. I liked some of the themes and humor in EMI, but the continuity errors really get to me.
In parts it paid tribute to SoMI and in other parts it completely contradicted it. Like saying Herman washed up on Monkey Island when it was clear in the first game he sailed there on the Sea Monkey. I have trouble comprehending how such mistakes were made, surely someone at LA should have known it didn't make any sense. I find it frustrating.
Still when I first played EMI I was unaware of the errors, and I enjoyed it. Monkey Kombat was hard but I didn't really hate it at the time. Sucks when replaying though.

Agreed, I think they are waiting on purpose, reading our cries for the game on the forum, laughing sadisticly as they know we're suffering...

I beat them all on average once a year.

It would be out by now if Telltale wasn't playing TF2 instead of working on games. >:P
(just kidding)
The 'Download' button is missing next to chapter 4.
Please remedy as soon as possible.
Thank you.
