Tom is the heart of the group, but he is busy trying to fight off the ninja robot pirates earn good grades. So, we are just hacking away at the script for 2 months or so until he gets back. woooooot

Man, I had the NBR problem last week. Two things you always want against them are pepper spray and a good pair of nunchuku.
  • edited March 2010
    Hope everything's okay, Tom!

Originally the script deadline was going to be March 5th (tomorrow, in this time zone) but has that changed now?

Still, at least we do have a beginning-to-end script of the first chapter now! :D

We pretty much haz it done, we just need to cut it down so it's not half an hour long. I'm not the one to cut it as I think it is too amazing to get rid of anything.

Or you could just get the voice actors to speak the lines extremely fast to try and compress that half-an-hour into 10-minutes-or-so :D.

I have no problem with watching a 30 minute flashmovie if it's good enough.

But we have a problem with animating and voicing a 30-minute movie when there are 4 more to make after that :P
  • edited March 2010
    Yeah. The deadline is moved.

Is it really that long Ribs? Cool!?

Argh! The ninja robot pirates are here!

    Tom out- hiya!

    You have a point.

BTW, am I "hired" for De Singe and/or Human LeChuck?

I haven't been involved in these decisions in the past as Ribs and Tom made the call. But I think your Marquis is great so you've got my vote for him.

I'm a writer, I never expect my view to be the one that is seen publically (As was seen in the X-Files episode 'Musings of A Cigarette Smoking Man').

I say Tom and the animators should choose voice actors.

PS: It's not really half an hour long, but Scene Two is too long but it is my baby and I shall never cut it at all.

I'll send down a helicopter to help you out. Remember, pepper spray works miracles!

I'll cut stuff out, if no one else will. I will make sure to not cut out anything importent and funny.

I'm a bit concerned that I may be the only returning animator, especially if these films do end up being really long.

Your DeSinge is awesome, you definitely get my vote.

LeChuck's a difficult one to cast because more people have auditioned for him (both human and dead/undead forms). But since Tom reset the list, we've only had one audition for each LeChuck form. I personally am happy to go with these, but if any of the originals re-audition then there will suddenly be a lot more competition.

But if you get a thumbs up from Tom for your DeSinge audition, then congrats on that one!

So are you also saying that my zombie LeChuck is good?
  • edited March 2010
There was someone else in the previous auditions that I liked better for Human LeChuck, but I can't remember who that is... >.>

(First and second audition. I think the second one is better)...

So a lot of people like apenaaps DeSinge? I can't listen to it, but if everyone likes it, then welcome to the team!

What about my crapfest of an audition? how's mine?
  • edited March 2010
    Congrats to apenapp.
  • edited March 2010
    Thanks for hiring me, guys!

Since we don't have many voice actors yet, I'll audition for a few minor characters too. http://www.filefront.com/15755041/some%20characters.zip

Well, I'm pretty much stuck for another... eh... a while. So I can only comment here. I can't listen to anything, see the Wave, etc... So I'll have to trust your judgement.

I'm giving up on judgement for my audition.

It was bad quality anyway, sour grapes and all that jazz

    So............. is this project dead?
  • edited April 2010
I was wondering the same thing. Would be a shame if it is, I was rather looking forward to doing De Singe's voice.
  • edited April 2010
I'm honestly not sure. I hope it isn't. On the other hand I'm not even sure we have enough animators.

I'm starting we might be better off doing it as a radio-play kind of thing. Just cut off the visual dimension. But then we'd need to cut off some of the gags of course.

Ok, I've been practicing the voices of the intro to chapter 1 of Tales, and I think I'm doing quite well with Guybrush and Lechuck (I'm not gonna audition for Elaine, though, I would still sound like a guy). I'll upload some narration things, even if its in the form of a youtube video, I'll do it.I'll just have to make sure I'm not at my grandparents at that time.I'll do anything to keep this thing alive.

P.S. Damn! Stan's taken! Oh well, maybe next time there's a flash film then.

Edit: Ok, I've basically recorded some lines from MI 1 and 2, doing different voices (except Elaine) like Largo, Mad Marty and Bob to name a few. I've also got my semi-main audition for Guybrush on there. This is all in the form of a video. I'm uploading them to youtube now, and I'll give a link when it's done.

    Edit 2: Here's the first 2 vids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfipnVXJqdI

Cool, that'll give us an idea of which characters you are capable of. (there are still loads that need to be cast!)
  • edited May 2010
I hope it's not dead. But I'm out. I can't do anything and feel that I might be dragging this down. So... Sorry.

    O:

i bought a fancy new mic. Will I be able to use it for this?

Umm... Manda and Ribs wanted to bring this back. Well. Manda and I did anyhow. Anyone else want to?

(Sorry mods for bringing back an ancient thread.)

I'd still love to voiceact DeSinge (And, if you need it, some minor characters), so I'm still in.

I was just talking with Avistew a few weeks ago about brining it back as well.
Here is the finalized list of characters in Chapter 1, along with a note if they'll appear again and need to do more lines in the future:

    LeChuck (recurring)
    Elaine (recurring)
    Guybrush (recurring)
    Popsky, Random Pirate™
    Nipperkin
    D'oro(recurring)
    Winslow(recurring)
    Voodoo Lady(recurring)
    DeSinge(recurring)[Apenpaap]
    Morgan(recurring)

Thank you so much Ribs. :D I refreshed the list. This should be the last time I do. Sorry.
