ahahah oh man, now that expression on his face takes on a whole new meaning. *cries*

    Oh yeah.. Guybrushes..

So we have young guybrush (I'm not sold on the SE version, he has stupid hair and looks grey... seriously), older bearded guybrush (Hot DAMN SE guybrush is hot hahaha. Yet still somewhat adorable and squishy. ), youthed guybrush again (He really does look younger than MI2 Guybrush doesn't he. It's like he lost 10 years or something... that or a beard just really ages you... hmmm. I love Curse's art style though, it's awesome.) and then somehow he becomes about 12 for escape. Seriously, he looks even younger than Secret's Guybrush!
We need to excuse the craptastic 3d that was so common when Escape was made (mmm blocky) but even just looking at the concept art, I dunno... he's somehow youthed again! Does the carnival of the damned just have a fountain of youth or something? Shouldn't he look well.. around about the same age as he did in Curse? It's been what, 6 months between those games?

I think my faves are a toss up between MI2:SE and tales... I dunno, something about that facial hair lol

I think he looks younger in the 3rd and 4th games because of his shave.

In other random news, I think ToMI Guybrush looks a lot like Tulio from The Road to El Dorado.

. .if Tulio had been blonde, that is.

A Monkey Island movie needs to be done this way. It's a shame Dreamworks 2D Animation was shut down. They would have been perfect for the job.

Dreamworks is owned by Steven Spielberg, Lucasarts is owned by George Lucas.... Steven and George have been best friends since the 70's.... I could see it happening..

    BUT

More likely it would be done by Lucasfilm animation

I am SO gonna draw gay fanart of Miguel and Tulio now. :D

And yes, MonkeyMania, I agree: it is a damn shame about Dreamworks 2D. Their 2D films were actually really good! But nowadays we've got this Monsters vs. Aliens and Shrek 5.6 crap that's just painful to watch ...although I hear How to Train your Dragon is really good. Still haven't seen it yet.

Yes. Yes, it is. Go see it. ;)

And Monsters vs. Aliens wasn't THAT bad. If you want bad 3D animation, go watch Beowulf - now THAT was totally pointless...

I can assure you, "How to Train your Dragon" is the best Dreamworks film since the first "Shrek". Loved it!

Completely agree, but I actually think that it may actually be better than "Shrek". A lot of "Shrek"'s jokes and content were parodies or references of many films, music, etc. of the current culture, whereas "How to Train Your Dragon" has basically no references, parodies or in-jokes meaning that it will have more lasting value, while much of "Shrek"'s charm and novelty may wear off as time goes by. However, both movies are excellent!

Maybe Don Bluth could do it.
I believe his studio still exists.

Don Bluth is having trouble funding his own project. He's been trying to make a Dragon's Lair movie for years.

"None of the staff working on the Tales of Monkey Island™ series had played, taken any part in development of, or were aware of the Monkey Island™ adventure games from Lucasarts™ during development of the season. Any resemblance between Tales™ Guybrush and previous versions of Guybrush is purely coincidental."

jeez guys learn how to read a few press releases, all this speculation could have been over with weeks ago

Since Don is my favorite animator of all time, I'm naturally prejudiced in his favor. Now if he and Steven Spielberg could collaborate on the project again like they did on An American Tail, I could die happy. Steven did want to make a Monkey Island movie years ago, but when he didn't the ideas went into the POTC series. He's a big MI fan so I could see it happening.

    Wanna-be pirate
    Governor-related love interest
    undead Evil Pirate
    Voodoo lady
    Monkeys
    Cannibals
    finding a crew

    PotC IS Monkey Island

The Mario Brothers movie would have been awesome had they just changed the names.

Don Bluth was my favorite animator. . until the 90s. :(

Also, I LOVE the Super Mario Bros movie. I know it's a godawful horrible abomination, and yet I still love it. There is no logical explanation for why, I just do. >_<
