Hey Andy, I also thank you for taking the time to answer your fans' questions, just a few quick ones I wanted to ask:

Are the Soda Poppers well-and-truly gone? I very much hope so.

I take it this billboard is definitely related to 'The Tomb of Sammun-Mak', yes? And are you aware of the misspelling of 'Pharaoh'?

Will Skun-ka'pe return (are you allowed to answer this)?

Have you got an effective and compelling cliff-hanger ready for the end of the episode?

spoiler tags, please. although most of us already know this, some people haven't played season 2, so they don't know about stinky yet.

So they like S&M enough to pre-order Season 3, but not enough to play season 2? Cmonnnnnnn this is pretty much a spoiler forum!

I think I'd have to agree with Mr. SpaceFalcon. I'm not really going to go out of my way to put in spoiler tags when I'm posting in a section of the forums devoted entirely to discussing Season 3.

Not to mention if you play 301 and talk to Stinky it basically says "Is an evil cake" in the introductionary screen (and notebook).

It's currently kinda hard to play season 2 if you bought season 3 for the PS3 or the iPad...

But in those cases it's also kind of hard to be in this forum section...
(Not to mention my above point still stands)

Really? I thought it was obvious!
We see in the trailer a giant cockroach with the nametag "Sal". In season 2, Sal was in the kitchen in Stinky's. Sal is an inhuman monster and his name starts with S, and Stinky is obviously lying when you ask if there was ever anyone in the kitchen. Therefore, Stinky is going out with a giant cockroach named Sal.

I still think it's the S is for suck dragon

Highwayman speaks the truth. I suspected this much from episode 5 in finale of season 2 when Grandpa Stinky came back from hell and Sam ask about Sal and Girl Stinky said, "Sal? who Sal"? Up close and serious which meant a foreshadow event for season 3 and she did it again in this season. Her reason to keeping Sal a secret is that no in the right mind would keep a cockroach as a chef or a suuuuee chef (get it?????.......never mind) by the health board administration on food concern that is too unsanitary to eat or otherwise known as H.B.A.O.F.C.T.I.T.U.T.E.

Either that or could be Sam and Max arch nemesis, Sam Mack which I starting to speculate episode 2 may involve with him (if you notice how his name sound almost sound like of episode 2 title).
  • edited April 2010
His name is actually Mack Salmon, so it actually doesnt sound that much like Sammun-Mak, which sounds more like Sam & Max. Also Mack Salmon doesn't start with an S.
  • edited April 2010
Mak-Sammun and Mack Salmon sounds a lot alike though.
Salmon, which could be where the nickname Sal comes from, starts with S.

I actually don't think "Papier Waite" is going to have a voice, for some reason. : o
Don't ask me why, I just think he will be a... urhm... "silent antagonist".

    joseppey:
    1. will there be time travel in this episode?

Not time travel, no. But we found a different way to mess with chronology...you won't quite be taking a straight line from beginning to end.
    2. Will telaportation make an appearance in this episode or will it be gone like the future vision?

    This episode features all-new toys.
    3. How many new toys will there be?

Two or three, depending on how you count them.

JusSonic, mathman77 and Strong Max: I'm not going to answer all your questions, because I don't want to give too much away. You will be encountering some returning favorites in episode two...not necessarily the characters you referenced. I don't know when we'll have a trailer up.

Joop: I think our animators would love to have a guy squashed between buildings...it would save them a lot of work. But he'll have to be deferred to a later episode.

Bruno83: It's a good idea...I'll pass it along to the core tech team.

Strong Max: People are always making me cut things. That's the nature of a collaborative form like videogames. It's never just arbitrary, though...there are always reasons for cutting, most of them good ones. Sometimes there are technical limitations, sometimes it's a question of getting the game done by deadline. Occasionally an idea is just a step or two over the line, and I have to be reined in. This happens more often with a genteel franchise like "Wallace & Gromit" than a freewheeling franchise like "Sam & Max." But I'll make a confession: the original design for "The Tomb of Sammun-Mak" contained a puzzle that was a little too disgusting for Steve Purcell himself. I hated to lose it, but you can't argue with the Creator.

lombre: I'm having a really hard time imagining what a cross between Satan's and Harry Moleman's voice would sound like...

    Hayden:
Are the Soda Poppers well-and-truly gone? I very much hope so.
    Me too!
I take it this billboard is definitely related to 'The Tomb of Sammun-Mak', yes? And are you aware of the misspelling of 'Pharaoh'?
As a matter of fact, that's from a different episode. And...um...of course! We misspelled it on purpose!
Will Skun-ka'pe return (are you allowed to answer this)?
    Maybe. To both questions.
Have you got an effective and compelling cliff-hanger ready for the end of the episode?
Hell yeah! We've got a cliffhanger that will leave you gasping!

Aaaaaw... will we hear about this one after 302's release?
  • edited April 2010
We've already learned the background story how Bluster Blaster got his (ahem) A.I. - any chance we'll get more backstory on the other C.O.P.S. members this episode? (Or, at least, this season?)

np: Autechre - d-sho qub (Oversteps)

I second this. Even if it's really that disgusting I will still find out! Besides the Internet is full of things best left unseen/unknown anyway so what's one more haunting image going to change. ;)

I third this. I actually wanted to ask that here, but two people were ahead of me! I'd really love to know! Just don't tell us before Episode 2 is released.

I think if you haven't played any of the previous seasons, you won't get some of the jokes, like the one Momma Bosco says about the extra $15 Million "some idiots" gave her son.

Sheesh guys, start a petition thread elsewhere. I think he gets the point :P

I'd like to see this thread filled with posts worth reading.

As for a question, what's your favorite new environment in episode 2? If you can't tell us what it is, whet our whistle and tell us something about why it's your favorite.

    Oh yeah, questions.

The Penal Zone saw Sam & Max driving around New York a lot searching for clues, and therefore featured far more street areas than actual indoor environments. Will episode 2 continue this trend or will it go back to more specific indoor areas? Or possibly a mixture?
  • edited April 2010
Ok, I have a question. Will episode 2 start to branch out into completely new areas, not using straight and narrow at all? Eventually the same place and main 'base' if you like, can get a bit tiresome.
  • edited April 2010
I actually dreamed that episode 2 was out already and I had finished it.
It made me both happy and sad, sad because I knew that there was one less to come out, but happy because it was good.
Geez, I can be a nerd sometimes...

    Will Carol get a voice?

I've been wondering this same thing. In my opinion, the clue gathering worked for the sake of that one episode, but it's not something I'd like to see get overused.

I cant't wait any longer! I want to play Ep.2 right now and I am the opinion that everybody who preordered Season 3 should get a special Link right now to dowload Ep.2 immediately....wouldnt't that be nice? *dream*

Anyway - question: will it be revealed in Ep.2 why Max is evil (flaming Max at the end of the episode)?

Geez, I shouldna opened my big mouth. I definitely don't want to say anything about the cut puzzle before the episode comes out...and by then everybody will have such baroque ideas about it that the truth will be a disappointment. We'll see.

    Steve2911, OzzieMonkey and lombre:

Though episode two picks up immediately where episode 1 left off, it makes an immediate left turn into a very different place. You won't be seeing much of the street, or most of the characters from the first episode, and your tools for puzzling and moving around are different than they were in "Penal Zone". (Not that we're leaving all the episode 1 plotlines dangling for good...it'll all tie up nicely by episode 5.)

    Joop:

Now I'm curious: what was the plot of the game in your dream? Do you remember?

Nojh: Carol has all the voice she needs to get her points across.

MarkoH01: Your agitation has been noted. I wish I could give you a release date, but we still don't have one. We DID get certified by Sony, which prompted many sighs of relief, so now all systems are clear for take-off.

As for the flaming Max head...everything happens for a reason. But not all reasons are reasonable.

I don't remember much of a plot. I do remember them being in Skunkape's ship again in the end. I remember ending the episode, being very satisfied, but then realising that I didn't get to see any new psychic powers.
I'll try to dream up the plot later on. ;)
