I'm going to PAX under the condition that I can find a) people to stay with and b) people to go with. I'm returning to the states in late July for my brother's wedding and will be there for a bit. If I move to Calufornia like I plan to, then I will go if I can.
Seems I had a burning hatred of gorgeous weather and being around people who love me.
The reason I came back this time was for my cousin's wedding on Saturday. It was outdoors, on a beautiful piece of land by the Pacific ocean. We're all standing around on the grass, in formal gear and either bare feet or flip flops, enjoying the afternoon sunshine and waiting for things to begin.
Suddenly the band starts up with Back in Black, there's the sound of distant rotors, a helicopter appears in the sky... pretty soon we begin to realise that this is the groom's party making their entrance in style.
The guys (all wearing suits and sunnies) alight from the chopper and motorboat across to where we're all clapping and cheering... the groom swaggers through the parted crowd, rock-star style, high-fives and "hell yeahs" all round. THAT is how a wedding is done.

Well b) should be taken care of - I'm sure at least a few people from the forums will go. The Penny Arcade forums seem to have a bunch of people who organise pre-PAX meetups as well (that's how I met a lovely nerd group in London, and we hang out now on a fairly regular basis).
Man I hope the american release date for the 3ds is announced on wednesday.
And that just one of these games are released at launch
Mario Kart 3d
Paper Mario 3d
Ocarina of time 3d
Layton 3d
Star Fox 3d
banjo 3dsie(I can dream can't I)
Mario Kart 3d - Nope.
Paper Mario 3d - Not a chance.
Ocarina of time 3d - Possible.
Layton 3d - Nope. We still don't have the previous game.
Star Fox 3d - Possible.
banjo 3dsie - Definite.
2 booster packs cost 3 quid (so thats 10 random cards + 1 bonus card (I pay via SMS which is very quick and my phone can easily be topped up, (don't really use my phone so I only need very little credit))), which is probably better than what the physical boosters are these days!
However, the ingame shop has three foundation decks that cost only 10 points, (so for 3 quid you get like over 100 cards to start you off with, and they are actually pretty good cards)
I'm already on level 3 (I won two duels, though one was from timeout, (I was winning though...)).
Though it seems you need too keep buying boosters if you want to keep playing, (as I think you have a limit on the number of duels with other players you can have, but it is extended everytime you top-up), but unlike Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh doesn't try to make you buy the new cards to play competatively.
You can trade cards, and if you can manage it, borrow cards from other players, (and loan them out).
I personally thinks thats great, as a newbie probably could get straight into playing with the right connections.
Theres tournaments and events, and NPC duelists (that are REALLY HARD!! (I'm looking at you Joey and your over 2000 attack or defence level 4 monsters!!).
Plus theres paid for avatar customisation, but I don't think most people would care about that! XD
I dont want to get the console and not a game.
Of course this console does have a 3d camera, 6 augmented reality games built in, a mii studio, and a virtual console which if all else fails, I can buy from that, but still I would love some game.
Yep. If anything, Link's Awakening 3D and Super Mario Land 3D should be near launch.
Well if Links Awakining is in 3d it is an instant buy for me.
Aww its going to be an instant buy anyway.
Actually the dsi shop was added the day the dsi was out, if that is the case than Something has to be on the 3ds shop at launch, preferably links awakining since I havent played it yet.
I also hope they do the same offer they did the first month of the dsi, those that sign into the shop in that month gets 1,000 free nintendo points.
I tried to start Metal Gear Solid 4. Then I realized MGS3 was coming out for the 3DS and I should probably play them in order (well, at least 3 and 4 in order).
3 is a really far off prequel, you'll be lost anyway still as the only way it makes any sense is to play them all in order.
I've been Studio Arts for the last couple years now, but after an atrocious semester and the realiziation that I'm not very good (nor will I ever be) and thus have no shot of any real job opportunities when I graduate, I've decided I need to change my major.
The plus side? I'm going into Culinary Arts now, which means I've got a clear shot for some good job opportunities when I get out of college in a couple years. I've also got a ton of the gen ed reqs done, so all I need to take is an English 2 and Business Math class at one of the community colleges.
The downside? The campus all the classes are at are in a fairly unsavory part of town and I have a ton of red tape I need to clear up at my current college before I think I can do anything else.
Yo just registered after looking at some Sam and Max merch which I knew I'd never buy because I live in Chile, the butt of the world, and shipping always costs as much, if not more, than what I ever try to buy, but then I realized this site says it'll ship FOR FREE!
This is no sorcery, right? Im not getting rip off? The FedEx envoy wont be a russian mook who'll break my fingers while telling me I should never waste TellTale's time again, right?
I ask in the random thread because I'm new and new things scare me.
My god, they weren't kidding about all the spammers. We have new members coming out of the fundament, and most of them aren't real! Arm me with some mod powers. I'm ready for this war!
You have no idea how I feel. Watching every minute pop up with a "New Member..." I'm going to dis-member the new members! And they're no mods or employees online to ask about it. *wince wince twitch twitch wince*

(Well, I can see him right now so I guess that's a lie. But you know what I mean.)
What was your first clue.
Projectile vomiting?

I have the best family I could possibly wish for.
Ooh me, probably. It's a long way off though.

Only if I can too.
We all can dream.
Of course I am more dreaming about one of those games being a launch title, then I will worry about 3dsie and not nuts n bolts3die
My thoughts, especially the last one.
Its actually pretty good.

Yes that is a big one.
I just hope a semidecent 3ds launch title is out.

thats like the opposite of most ppls reactions

Sheesh.
Wait, you're not StLouisRibs anymore? Nooooooooooooooooooooo!
Holy monkey fists mashing a bloody cranium, that game was pretty violent for a kids game. O_O
Well, it wasn't the first E10+ rated game for nothing.
Well, without StLouis, you just have Ribs, and...
I thought that was Shadow the Hedgehog.
I once asked Ribs why he chose that name... I don't remember what it was, though.
Misread this as "Palin is expected"
This is no sorcery, right? Im not getting rip off? The FedEx envoy wont be a russian mook who'll break my fingers while telling me I should never waste TellTale's time again, right?
I ask in the random thread because I'm new and new things scare me.
Because it's fantastic.
EDIT:
My god, they weren't kidding about all the spammers. We have new members coming out of the fundament, and most of them aren't real! Arm me with some mod powers. I'm ready for this war!
But 2 weeks and I get some time of, 2 weeks in England with my boyfriend.
I am going to be thinking about that a lot, if nothing else comes to mind.
Is it weird to dream about BttF? I think my subconsciousness is telling I gotta stop waiting and play the game now.
