The curiosity/try out thing is mainly involved if you can do it for multiple times but imagine that it would be more restricted like beeing a one way trip only as you can't take the time machine, too big and you have to take care that it will stand there in a few years as well, with you or there would be very high energy costs involved so that it costs as much as a house or even more. Or it would damage the space-time-continuum so that it's more like with birth control organized by the government. I think this could restrict its usage in interesting ways.
If you have no restrictions and the technolgy is widely spread it more or less always leads into chaos. If it's organized you could book it like any holiday, just adding the time to your space destination.
The only way to bypass your natural lifetime would be if you could jump far enough into a time where it is possible to transfer you mind into another human body which you use as a host or into a robot (giving birth to robots with neuroses), from there on you would be pretty much on your own. But it doubt this will happen in a timespan at least i'm still alive, but who knows.

I like Black Adder's character a lot better as well as Baldrick's. I don't like Percy as much, and I really don't like Queen Elizabeth I. She pretty much ruins the whole series for me.

Yeah, well, I don't script well. I just thought of a way that's really easy to model/ animate a game, and so I'm going with it. The graphics are going to be made in GTKradiant.
