Why are my avatars always creepy Zelda characters who hang out in abandoned towers containing some sort of mechanism involving water who turn freaking scary when they get pissed off?
  • edited March 2011
Because those are the characters everyone remembers?
  • edited March 2011
I didn't think the Mask Salesman(if that is your avatar) hangs out in the Clock Tower.
  • edited March 2011
The only times you ever see him outside the Clock Tower in Majora's Mask are in the flashback at the beginning where he's seen in the Lost Woods and at the very end when you see him in Termina Field. He spends the entire rest of the game in there.

And yes, it is. It's a modified version of his sprite from Oracle of Ages, with his happy expression cleaned up to look more like him, recolored to match his N64 appearance, and with legs added on, as he was always behind a counter in his short appearance in Ages. Basically the same thing I did to Guru-Guru's sprite from Seasons, including copying his animation.

Only Scissorman hangs out in there!

Trying to keep this vaguely on the topic of Hubris, has everyone interested seen the teaser trailer?

Also, for people that don't know the Hubris story,

Meh, I'm already bored with this thing. Here's something so people who read this later today will know what the hell we were talking about.

Apparently you guys are getting really offended and someone has reported me, Is me temporarily copying your avatar REALLY that upsetting, really?
  • edited March 2011
Honestly I'm more confused as to why you would want to do that in the first place.

Think of it like this, would you like someone stealing your identity, and pretending to be you?

A couple months ago, someone made a new account that was an exact duplicate of mine, but with one extra space in the name. They then proceeded to make posts as me. The feeling was like getting punched in the stomach.

That I can totally understand, but I just thought copying an avatar randomly for a short while (a matter of hours) would cause humourous confusion! People still know who it is as it's got GeorgeC posted in big bold shiny letters next to my post

I don't see what the problem really is. One of the Forum's Finest did it to me and everyone thought it was high-ho-frickin-hilarious, including me. Let's not be hypocrites now, I mean that was a dupe, and all George's done is copy a few random profile bits. I thought George's joke was funny myself. It's nothing untypical of this place.

    :)

Plus it was in good taste, I wasn't actually imitating anyone, I just thought it would confuse people for a couple of laughs, which it got ,but some people seemed to get thourougly offended, for which I am sorry!

And sorry if my spelling isn't on form tonight

True, but the avatar is what the eye is drawn to first, to the point that many people will manage to overlook even the big bolded letters once they've become accustomed to someone's avatar. It's the closest thing you have to a face on here.

There's a few differences. 1. He mirrored your avatar, making it immediately obvious that it wasn't you. 2. Everyone knew you were banned when he did it, making it even more obvious.

And like I said, it's been done to me before, and it's an awful feeling.

    It's not really very different.

I think it will be dropped.

    :D

This is what my face looks like right now.

I am real glad I've managed to pick up a good selection of Snes games already
(I got some pretty crafty ebay tricks. Time of day, Buffer Bid (to stop last seconders), and the last second bid if those two don't work as planned (good thing my internet is not slow...)).

    Super Mario Kart
    Super Mario Allstars
    Street Fighter 2
    Street Fighter 2 Turbo
    Super Street Fighter 2
    Battletoads in Battlemaniacs
    Pilotwings
    Super Game Boy
    Flashback
    Starwing (Starfox)
    Krusty's Funhouse
    B.O.B
    Nigel Mansell World Championship
Super Smash T.V. (Had to get the best version of the game. 4 face buttons are really necessary for this game)
    F-Zero

I already got Super Mario Allstars in the post today. However, the Snes isn't here yet so I can't play it. :/

(Also could do with a second controller now that I think of it!)

I haven't got a reply (not specifically from you) yet about when this thread will be made into a new one? I'm really sure threads automatically lock when they get to 10,000 posts? Or am I imagining things.

Also, I REALLY want to take my friend to the hospital tomorrow since I'll be doing nothing at work, but I can't - FACK!

I don't think it will automatically get locked and if it does, we will make a new one I will find out and let you know though.

And if that does happen, you guys WILL wait for me to make the new thread.

Hmm, I wonder if I can bribe someone to give you another 10 day ban around the time this thread hits 10,000. Given your track record, I'm sure there's someone who will be receptive to the idea.

I was just Watching the Nostalgia Critic's Latest video: Old vs. New Karate Kid.

Here's a spoiler sheet for those of you who can't be bothered to watch it:

    Best Karate Kid:
    Daniel (1984)
    Best Teacher:
    Mr. Han (2010)
    Best Villains:
    New Version (2010)
    Best Supporting Cast:
    Old Version (1984)
    Best Story and Best Movie:

I was actually not that surprised at the outcome, believe it or not.

That's because Jackie Chan always wins. Always. Even at making bad movies.
