That's because Jackie Chan always wins. Always. Even at making bad movies.

I'm pretty sure that Jackie Chan has a lot of competiton when it comes to bad movies.

    I'm looking at you, M. Night He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named

He gets one point for The Sixth Sense.

Wow in pokemon Black and White you can get legendary pokemon very easily.
I already have Zorua and Victini, and I am not even 3 badges in. I dont even have a pokemon above level 20.

Crap, that reminds me that I'm going to need to get my sister's stupid pink DSi if I want to send over Celebi and the Legendary Beasts. Still, I'm not planning on starting the game for a while, so it doesn't matter right now. Hell, I don't even have to hit "new game" until they do three more Wi-Fi/GameStop events.

Also, I think I'm going to end up getting Black as well at some point before the April 10th deadline for Victini.

The fact is that Jackie hasn't made a lot of bad movies. M. Night, yeah...but I did like Signs.

    Im pretty sure he is.
Granted he and Zoroark seem to be thier own seperate and break a lot of rules of legendarys.
Namely cannot evolve and cannot breed(can you breed them?).
Either way the only way to get Zoroa is through an event or through GTS, which I consider legendary.

The Men in Black comics are way better than the Men in Black film adaptation.

    1. hahahahahaha
    2. I hate you.
    3. They sort of deal with witnesses the same, though. Except instead of a Neuralyzer, they have a "gun". And instead of shooting a flash of memory-erasing light, it shoots "bullets".

Next thing I know you'll be saying that the comic is more like Blade Runner with aliens and less like Ghostbusters with aliens.

I think I'm going to cry openly.

Well, not just aliens. The movie MiB was kind of pigeonholed. The comics MiB was able to deal with mutants and demons and the like.

The movie has The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Enough said.

In all seriousness though, I was a disappointed at how much they toned down their 'work'. As mentioned before, in the comics, they killed their witnesses and dealt with all paranormal creatures. I definitely liked the tone of the comics more.

    Uhh...Why am I finding new comics I need to read...thanks Dashing...thanks a lot...*Sobs*

I don't go anywhere near comics. Webcomics are hard enough to get into, with the archives readily available and completely free. Print comics are basically designed to punish anyone new to them.

Also, guess who just learned he wouldn't be able to read the MIB comic.

I often wonder why I bother with facebook as most of the people who I've added as a friend are either people I used to know at school over 10 years ago or people I've no clue who they are but they seem to remember me. In between all of them are the people I do know or the ones I'm just getting to know, I guess.

Make another account, and only add those who you're really close to. I'm tempted to do this myself, as I have way too many 'friends' on there that I either have no real connection with or just simply don't like.
  • edited March 2011
I can't be bothered to make another account. I think I might just remove a few and see if they even notice, which I doubt they will. Lets see if I can reduce my 89 'friends' to a more manageable number.

That'll do for now, got it down to 47.

You didn't make me cry, you made me fume at my desk for a minute or two before I went back to translating Old Irish. Pretty much the only things that makes me cry are Pixar films and certain video games at this point in my life.

You also copied my location, user title and signiture, mate. If you'd just had my avatar I wouldn't have been mad, Kamen Rider Joker's pretty awesome. Besides, as I said, I got over it in a minute so stop getting so defensive about it.

I'm sorry, but this is bullshit. There are PLENTY of one-shot comics, short series, and self-contained story arcs that a person can "get into" them at any point. What you're saying only somewhat applies to the "legacy" big-name Superhero shit. Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, X-Men, etc. The big Marvel and DC universes are large and intimidating, but writers take great pains to make sure that people can jump in at the start of any given story arc. When they aren't as "easy to get into", they often provide editor's notes when something is based off a far earlier issue. You're applying a trope to an entire medium, and that's a fallacy. And even in the cases you're referring to, it's an intermittent "problem" at worst.

I have to agree with Dashing on this actually. I'd dropped out of reading Green Lantern for a few years (3 of 4), came back to it during the Blackest Night event series and, to be honest, I didn't really feel all that confused. A good writer will establish pertinent continuity to what arc he's writing and continue from there. Now, to be fair, not all comic book writers do this (the mess that was Amazons Attack is a good example of handling this badly), but most of the time if they're mucking this up, you don't want to be reading their comics.

I love the fact that shouting in Old Norse always sounds badass even if what you're yelling doesn't relate to your conversation. I got a chance to use, 'Vesall ertu þinnar Skjalborgar' on someone earlier, this is why I mention it.

Actually, I should also mention that the Men in Black comics(which I believe is the discussion Guru is going off of) is actually a mini-series. In total, we have 10 comics. And that's including everything post-film. The original series is three issues, I believe. Granted, it's now EXPENSIVE to obtain, but at the time it wasn't anywhere near "hard to get into".
