Just wait til they hit another delay. Better get the riot gear. I was so saddened that I had to work 11-8 release day and missed out on a whole bunch of entertainment... oh and I guess there was a game too.
I wouldn't have really cared. You know how many times I've waited outside stores on release day and then when they open it's not there and I kept being dicked around by staff before finally being told "oh I'm sorry, it looks like we wont be carrying this release). I'm looking at you, Best Buy.
Then there's Gamestop who has had constant problems with ordering enough product for their preorders, which just gives me a headache as to why they can't count(I don't go there anymore...ever).
Delays, last minute release switches, games that just didn't work and had to be returned, etc etc. I no longer mark my calendar or anything...especially now that I have a massive backlog on Steam. It's not like I ever have nothing new to play.
Waiting for something is fine... I only get irate if it doesn't work when it arrives.
But release day was particularly inconvenient. I can only hope the Telltale buyers get the next episode a slight bit BEFORE the Steam fans to make up for past misdeeds...
My RA from undergrad (SoDai in Japan) is coming to visit next month! I told her to visit as a joke (although I thought it would be great for her to come), and she took it seriously.

What uber American things should I do with her?
Oh, I think you already did one uber American thing with her, div.
That's awesome. Aside from the sport culture, I can't really think of anything that is culturally distinctive about North America. By that, of course I mean the median of camaraderie that exists. A die-hard fanbase that exists with minimal violence.
That's what comes to mind when I think of something our countries excel at.

Oy, oy. She said she was thinking of visiting California, I told her to crash (the offer WAS serious, just never thought she would accept) and she just booked plane tickets.
...if they like baseball. If I'm not mistaken, baseball has a fairly decent following in Japan.
I don't follow baseball in the slightest, but I really want to see a game because it's such a super-American thing to me. I love how Canada and the US are the only countries that get to play in the "World" Series.
Well I'm sure she's a nice person regardless. lol. I don't overly follow it, I just felt like making a joke. Little factoid that's pretty meaningless: My city used to have an MLB minor league team, and at one time, they were the affiliate of the Mariners. I knew a guy who was "somebody" in the organisation(no idea what they were, i was a kid) and I literally had 100s of autographs, probably should've kept them, at least one of them probably panned out in the majors. I'm almost afraid to check the rosters of those years to see what I lost out on lol.
Five Days with out a cigarette. I feel great and also I feel this has been the hardest thing for me. But I'm becoming healthier and securing a place in my childrens future.
Woooooo! Keep going Kurt!! Each day you succeed is a day to be proud of.
My dad quit smoking when mum first got pregnant. I am very retrospectively appreciative of him doing that for us.

You're in Southern California, right? You should take her to the Santa Monica pier, a Dodgers game, In-N-Out, and maybe Disneyland (though that's not strictly American, I guess...). The San Diego Zoo would also be a nice trip if you want to drive a ways.
If all else fails, In-N-Out is a must though, because that's something she couldn't get anywhere else.

The zoo is a given. I live pretty close to Balboa Park. The issue is no driving. She isn't 25 so renting a car is out and I can't drive. San Diego isn't exactly known for public transit...

I think you're going to need to recruit someone else to come along and drive if you want to see a whole lot there. Though last time I was in downtown San Diego, they had bike taxis that could be "negotiated" reasonably cheaply. That was before the recession, though, so I don't know how well they survived. And they won't take you to Disneyland.
-- I don't care about baseball really. Now, (American) football, that would be a good idea. Too bad it's the off-season.
Yeah, buying incredibly overpriced tickets to go see a bunch of Americans getting WAY over excited over a sport that would be respectable if it wasn't so over-hyped is a GREAT idea!
Baseball is better. It's the only non-combative sport that I've ever been able to stand. Though generally, I just go there for the food and read a book in the grand stands.
Really. Dodgers game. It will give you time to catch up with your friend while enjoying an American pasttime. All other sports will be too loud to have any meaningful conversations.
Basketball is one of the worst professional sports ever. I would seriously rather watch tennis. Unless it's a blow out, in which case it isn't exciting anyway, the only thing worth watching is the last 2 minutes.

She'd be scared out of the country for good.
Football is over-hyped?
Whatever. =\
I can show mild interest in a baseball game if I went to one, but in basketball I find myself entirely disinterested. [EDIT:]I do like that the Oklahoma City Thunder do well, but that's in favor of the city more than the sport.[/EDIT] Football is fun to watch. Granted it helps if you actually care who wins (which I assume you do not)... but that's probably the same for most sports.
I am getting more interested over time in NFL (professional) football as my father-in-law is a die-hard fan; however, I'm actually more interested in college football--and, being that I'm from Tulsa, my team of choice is the University of Oklahoma Sooners.

Basketball is awesome if you're watching with a bunch of Harvard students and Lin is playing.

A little redundant at times, at least in my opinion, but not bad.
Sports that really are boring:
- Cricket
- Golf
- Fishing
Cricket is boring to play and to watch.
(at least Golf is kind of fun for the player...)
And fishing just plain sucks.
Can't believe people find these "sports" interesting...
EDIT: I don't know whats up with this cat, but ever since I've been feeding him while my parents have been away on holiday, he's been attached to me like glue.
I just fed him, and now that he's finished he's just jumped up on the sofa next to me purring loudly.
And he's been like this all week. I go somewhere, he follows. I'm on my laptop, he jumps up and gets in the way.
I thinks its because I've been his sole food source and his sole hug source for this week, so he can't help but show his affection.
They say old cats go through personality change, well my cat definately has become more goopy and dependant in his old age.

The Steam guys would KILL them, customers and operators alike. That won't happen.

If you want to go that route, street vendor hot dog.

...and we only have 1 team now. I think it's even funnier that the "Nationals" came from Canada.

Also...
Is there anything else you want to share with us?
CM Punk wore it in his street fight with Chris Jericho.

-- buffalo wings are nasty. I dislike horseradish.
-- where the heck in America are there open-top buses?
Chicago has some.
Now if your in San Diego. I would say a padres game..there is a pizza place in san diego called Pizza Port and it's delicious.
Also spend some time in the gas lamp..always great time.
I hate horseradish/wasabi too. Lucky buffalo wings usually don't have that!

In late June?!
Also, I'm not FROM California. Just living here while getting my master's.

This is false.
Mild chance the Lakers will be in the Finals.
