Well, as far as we know, it may be two months. Doc could've visited Marty from time to time, as I gather, depends on how you understand the 'few' in Marty's 'Doc has been gone only for a few months' line.

What we know about the start of the game so far is that Marty's sad about Doc not being around, so I doubt he's been popping in from time to time. Marty wouldn't be so sad if he'd be expecting to see Doc again shortly.
Also, when Doc gets zapped back to 1885, the Western Union man rolls up almost immediately afterwards. Doc wants Marty to know for sure right away that he's OK (but then the events of Part III happen...). If Doc was in trouble wouldn't he want Marty to know right away as well?

Well, you're also forgetting the urgent matter of not letting Marty get stuck in 1955.
Anyway, I think Doc has been visiting Marty several times, and Marty became sad because Doc suddenly stopped doing it.
Now, if we take into account that the 'readjusting' period would be over by that time, there also exists an explanation based on the 'in the past... or was it in the future?' line - Doc simply can't remember when he visited Marty for the last time and sends it to be sure it would be AFTER his last visit.
Well, the thing is, we really don't know the circumstances that got Doc time-stranded, why it's a DeLorean coming back instead of the train, or much of anything. We'll find out in a few weeks. Hopefully.
Maybe that's an exact time and place that Doc knew Marty would be: The date that the bank would "try" to sell off all of his stuff.
That actually does sound like a reasonable explanation, considering Doc can't possibly know of Marty's whereabouts and he's got to be sure that the Time Machine reappears right in-front of him (and preferably only him)

I'll buy that. That sounds like the most reasonable explanation, if it is Doc that sends the DeLorean. However:
a) If Doc is stranded, how does he know the exact date and time of the sale?
b) Doc also knows the exact time and location he said goodbye to Marty while on the time train. Why not just send a DeLorean to a few seconds after he says goodbye? This wouldn't give Marty time to rest, but is still a surefire way of finding him.

He might have something set up in his lab, who knows. As to the second part, he wouldn't know it without the train being there. Also, he might have an easier time sending the DeLorean back to his home than getting it to the train tracks.
Because it's never mentioned, at all, in the movies. Why is everyone inferring that Marty's parents do know about his friendship with Doc? Would any responsible parents allow their teenage son to leave the house after 1 AM to go hang out with a "crazy" scientist? Lorraine doesn't even want Marty to spend the night alone with Jennifer. I always figured Marty had to sneak out of the house to go to the mall at the beginning of the first movie. Now, whether the new versions of Marty's parents at the end of the movie know about the friendship is another matter, but we don't really spend enough screen time with them to know for sure.
I just thought about this the other day, and something else came up... In the new timeline, Lorraine followed Marty to Doc's home back in 1955. So she's aware of Doc at least.
I wonder if she (or even George for that matter) ever asked Doc whatever happened to "Calvin"?
But I don't think Lorainne ever visited Doc again after that. I also don't think she ever discussed about him with George. Maybe there was a point where they argued over who of them would asked Doc and eventually they decided to let it slide.

Also means it will take place in Autumn.
I hate winters. >.<
...Autumn? Really?

Good point!
