By this logic, Terminator 3 and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull are both amazing films that completely hold up to the original source material. I mean, come on, they have Arnold/Harrison Ford in them! They must be good! Harrison Ford couldn't possibly be involved in new Indy if it's bad!
I actually liked Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Nowhere near as much as the other ones, but oh well. I'm not going to say that it didn't have dumb moments(nuke town?) however.
okay im sorry if i offended anyone on their opinion of BTTF the movie or the game. I just want to say that i enjoyed the game and the new story. ya its a crappy way to put in a new story as a add to the trilogy as Scnew said but it was entertaining for me. everyone is entitled to their opinions whether they liked the game or not. i didn't want to come off as an a total brat saying that the game doesn't matter or that this story is the best thing since sliced bread. i am totally new at this whole forum thing so i don't know how to smoothly say whats on my mind. i was just trying to stick up for the game but i probably came off a bit strong. im not a big gammer and just want to point out that nothing will ever beat the original trilogy. they are original and forever classics. sorry if i offended anyone out there. since i skewed off topic here, my answer to this poll is yes: i would love to see a sequel. who knows? maybe the game will improve or the story might. never the less, i am in for it. for all the people who don't want it, you have your opinion and i see your reasons (no sarcasm implied). Time will only tell us what will happen next

George McFly: Do you really think I oughta swear?
Marty McFly: Yes, definitely. Goddamn it George, swear.
What I think it comes down to, at least in my humble opinion, is that it's a left turn for TTG's to have a game with such a low difficulty. It's not about what makes a good game in our opinions, it's about what we expected from TTG. The story was good, the interaction was good, a couple things to figure out but not what we expected. I truly think it just let some people down in terms of expectations, and it didn't have a negative impact on the people that don't care about puzzles and just like to play along in the story.
Me personally, I love a good challenge, being stuck on a puzzle for hours or even days and then finally figuring it out makes it worth it. With BttF, I just loved an extension to the originals, and didn't care so much about the actual gaming side of it. But if they do a S2 they need to amp it up a few notches if they want a high number of repeat buyers.
Regardless of the difficulty level, I think they did a great job extending on the original movies. The new characters fit in well and I liked the different variations to the time lines. If they do the same and add a little challenge S2 will be perfect.
Yes yes yes yes, and yes!! There are lots of thing thay require improving but overall the game was a great experience and would love to play a second season. One thing that definitely needs to improve: the cinematic experience. Some of those climatic moments were pretty dull.
I would absolutely buy it. I loved the first one, and really hope they make the second one. Several of my friends would buy it as well, because they really enjoyed playing it together at my house.
i would to but please use a new game engine and graphical system
Why would it need a new engine and graphical system?
Ok most games having a tweak in graphics is always a good thing, but game engine? Of they make a season 2, it will be another adventure game.

I was really intrigued when I heard there was a BTTF game on its way and I was keen to try it out. This is coming from a 30-something year old who has never owned a Playstation, Xbox, Sega, SNES, etc. The most 'gaming' I did was way back in the late 80s (maybe early nineties) and that was on a Sinclair ZX Spectrum 128K (Treasure Island anyone?). I did have a few goes of Monkey Island on a friends comp and loved its story, characters, complexity and puzzles. So knowing that this BTTF game was being sold side-by-side with the latest Monkey Island game, I felt I was in safe hands.
The game was great fun and brilliant to imagine as an extension to the films. It has not affected my enjoyment or appreciation of the films or the characters. However, I did feel that the gameplay and difficulty was quite 'basic' in the majority (very basic in parts). I only got stuck in one part and, as it turned out, it was a fault in the game rather than my ability to guess/solve the solutions, etc (glass house anyone?).
So for a real gaming novice, it was a pretty well thought out story/plot, but the gameplay and complexity could have done with a bit more thought. Having Bob Gale, Christopher Lloyd (and even MJF for a wee bit towards the end) was great to hear and made me feel comfortable in spending my hard earned cash in these lean times. Quality is SO important after all...
To buy another BTTF season, the gaming element would have to be more on a par with Monkey Island (or at least Monkey Island of years gone by) rather than such a linear game-come-story click-through adventure.
Well done TTG. I say 3 and a half stars. Lets try for 4 next time!
Yes because im a fan, im not even going to comment why i hated it because everyone will either ignore it, be angry at me, or brush it off like it doesnt matter.
Easy doesn't necessarily mean bad, and if you were looking for a challenge I'm not sure why you are a fan of telltale, as they certainly aren't known for it. It's easier than Sam and Max 2 or 3, but those were sequels. I honestly think that most people who didn't like BTTF had unrealistic expectations. You are certainly entitled to your opinions, but I really liked the solutions to the puzzles in BTTF, even though I could guess them easily. Many of them were still quite innovative, and I did find myself stumped a few times - just not for very long.
If they did make another game, I would expect it to be more challenging, as it wouldn't be a new series. I do agree that you aren't given enough room to roam in this game, and having puzzles that dealt with actually using time travel would be much cooler. That doesn't mean this game is crap. No one who likes this game is saying that they will accept crap as long as it is bttf.
The previous bttf games were crap. This one is merely good, when it could be great. Of course I would buy the next one if they make it!
Completely lacking in anything that could be called "interactivity" even in the loosest possible sense, on the other hand, is necessarily bad in a medium whose main differentiating factor is interactivity. Much the same way a film that was nothing but a text crawl would not be good by the standards of film, a game that lacks even the basic requirements to qualify as "interactive" is a shit game. It's not JUST that it's easy. It's also that there is next to NOTHING that isn't solution-centric that you can click on for exploration purposes, there are areas that are entirely arbitrarily locked-off, deus ex machina rather than player action moves the story forward, there is a dearth of inventory items to play with, solutions are not only "easy" but simply require clicking on the largest(and sometimes ONLY) thing in the room.....
You can't call that a good game. Hell, you can scarcely call it a game at all.
This game was not good by any sort of possible definition anyone can come up with that isn't so purely fueled by nostalgia that damn near anything would qualify. By all technical merits, this product is shit. Expecting the one differentiating factor of a medium to even be PRESENT, let alone done WELL, is by NO MEANS an expectation that is anywhere close to being unreasonably high. It is not unreasonably high expectations to think that this game is not going to be one of the worst things I have ever played in my entire life. Even if this isn't the worst game I've ever played(it's damn near close), it is certainly the game that I most hate, that is the least redeemable or forgivable, and it is certainly the game that I personally hate more than any other game I've ever played. Fuck, it's the worst PRODUCT I've ever purchased, and I've bought ebay DVDs that turned out to be Chinese bootlegs. I've bought electronics that turned out to be nonfunctioning. I've bought items that simply do not WORK at ALL without a chance at getting a refund. That's how horrible this piece of garbage is. No item that I've ever bought has ever made me as angry as this soulless, creatively dead, uninspired, cynical, unambitious, and downright INSULTING piece of unforgivable shit has.
If anything, my expectations were LOW, and Telltale managed to lowball even those.
Lol. It's pretty sad when the best thing you liked from an adventure game was an arcade sequence. The simplest and most primitive arcade sequence ever conceived, at that.
For Season 2 Personally i would like it if they changed the Formula and make it into an Action-Adventure Game with Puzzle Elements cuz its kinda boring the current way since in the Movies there were some epic scenes for example i would want an Action Scene with Marty in his Hoverboard trying to get something from Biff(or Inster Villain Here) and being careful to avoid incoming things ala The BTTF2 Scene!
I liked the storyline. It could use a little more complex game control and puzzles, but never the less, I'd still rate it somewhere between the movies and the animated series, so not too bad overall.
Some people here seem to be forgetting those animated series
I wouldn't mind seeing more of the future though! We didn't nearly get enough of that in the movies.
I don't think I'd buy a second season, no. I don't dislike BttF:TG as much as others, but I doubt I would buy another season. I would only consider buying a second season if the 'gameplay' (I use that term very lightly, no offense to anyone) and puzzles were completely overhauled. The second season would have to be vastly improved before I would consider buying.

I read this out loud, emphasizing it the best I could, just to experience its awesomeness the best.
...well I don't think it's THAT bad. I like the 3D models. Some guys somehow used them for their Hill Valley GTA:VC mode. It's something good.
I would absolutely buy another season of this game!
They would have to fix the problem where Marty couldn't run when clicking on the right mouse button though as well as some other flaws like the puzzles being way too easy in the early episodes.
They would also have to bring Bob Gale back as the story consultant and bring Christopher Lloyd back to be the voice of Doc Brown again, and they also need to follow up on the story that ended with episode 5, and it would have to be a better story than what we were given for Season 1!
I was alright with the early episodes in season 1, but the last 3 episodes were a bit dark in terms of the stories that they were telling although they were good and took the series in a different direction. And I don't mean dark as in dark and gritty and that type of stuff, I mean dark in the terms of how they played out even though there was some comedy mixed in there to keep them lighthearted.
And I would also like to see one of the episodes for season 2 take place in the future like the year 2086 as an example! We were told that we were going to go through Hill Valley's past, present and future in the final episode of season 1 but we ended up going even further into the past, and none of the episodes in season 1 went to the future like we had thought was going to happen except for the nod that Doc had gotten the bluetooth headset from a 21st century video game console!
If they can get those problems fixed and rectified, then I'm all for a season 2
I post this message to say that i want a season 2. I'm a big fan of the trilogy and i just finished the game, it's was fantastic! Character (i love Edna and Trixie for example which are very interesting!), musics, hill valley, the story... all were good!!
That said, make the puzzles more challenging. The production of the game and the story were fantastic. I loved the experience, but I would have liked the puzzles to be a tad more challenging.
Regardless, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a second season!
I would say yes, I would buy future games, but I would also like to see some things changed.
My favorite part was definitely the story. It kept me interested and guessing the entire way through. I'm a massive, massive fan of the BTTF movies, and the story truly felt like a proper addition to the franchise. The characters were written well and I though the plot was very interesting. Doc Brown has always been my favorite character, so I really enjoyed the focus on him. I also appreciated the attention to detail and all the subtle references to the movies.
I think the voice acting was great. Marty's voice actor was fantastic, and I'm so glad that you guys were able to get Christopher Lloyd to voice Doc Brown. If there's a continuation of the series in the future, I hope that you guys can retain the cast used for the first series of games.
The gameplay, as others have said, is lacking. I enjoy adventure games, and I think that BTTF definitely works well within that genre (In fact, I can't really think of a genre other than adventure that would fit with BTTF), but I really think there were a lot of missed opportunities with the puzzles. I can't really think of one single puzzle that I thought was clever. They all seemed to range from "Meh" to "That was kind of stupid." The puzzle solutions were mostly either too easy or too obscure with almost nothing in that "Ooh, that was clever!" sweet spot in between, and they just seemed like obstacles on the way of seeing the story progress, which was the main reason I kept playing, rather than something that could really be enjoyed. I hope any future BTTF games can possibly incorporate some clever Day of the Tentacle-esque time travel puzzles, and hopefully an improved control system for PC, since I often had a bit of difficulty convincing Marty to move in the direction I wanted him to go, and some action sequences (Like the "Line up the signals" one near the end) controlled poorly on PC.
Overall, my thoughts of the BTTF games are similar to my thoughts of the Puzzle Agent games: Good story, poor gameplay. I really hope the problems can be addressed in future releases, if there are any. Though I would almost certainly buy future BTTF games assuming the same care is taken in the story, I'd love to really be able to enjoy the gameplay next time around as well.
The game was great fun and brilliant to imagine as an extension to the films.
What ?
While Rather is concerned about how horrible the "game" aspect of BTTF is, I clearly am frustrated with the horrible writing.
So many plot convenience, and magical things that happens all the time, like people appearing suddenly out of nowhere just to get the plot forward, Einstein being a GPS through time, Marty having items bigger than his pockets appearing in his hands by magic and all etc...
I just CAN NOT see how anyone would accept this horror and lazy written "story" as anything near to BTTF. It's seriously insulting.
Sure, the movies cheated a bit, but they didn't over do it, and it was either clever or really funny.
That was nowhere near that in the "game". It was painful and cringe-worthy. I've been absolutely unable to think for a second it could be "part 4" since every minute there was a horrible scene that completely destroyed all the credibility there could ever be about it. Either because the story was ridiculous, either because something absolutely impossible happened.
Also, all those invisible walls, and places you COULD NOT visit, that just ruins the immersion. Completely.
So yeah, I don't see what's so brillant about it. Sorry.
Can you honestly say the plot about time travel was mind blowing ? Geez, even on star trek, south park, and futurama, they had more interesting plots...
As for Time Travel games, DoTT, Shadow of Memories and even Chrono Trigger are raping it to death.

Fine than just game.
Crap that wont work either.
My point still stands, we wouldnt need a new of an engine.
I will say that I HATED that on PC, but it worked out much better on PS3. That section was made for an analog joystick.
I liked the storyline. It could use a little more complex game control and puzzles, but never the less, I'd still rate it somewhere between the movies and the animated series, so not too bad overall.
