I will agree the music in Mass Effect One was not the best, the best music was the one of the main menu I believe it's called Ilos, it play's through out the whole series and in my opinion is the best music in all the games, the music does improve by a large amount in Mass Effect two though.

However, I want to say that I really liked the main character, he's awesome (by default, he looks very similar to the appearance of Walker - main character game Spec ops: The line), also about Ashley I thought she is funny, and interesting character. Strangely enough but most of all in the game I infuriated music. Music in ME 1 is just awful, only turning it off I was able to play further. Especially after beautifull Dragon age music, you know... Leliana's song, Oh... I love her.

Ashley was not a bad character, but there are many others throughout the whole trilogy, who are so much better. Sadly some of them only occur in ME 2 and/or 3 like Mordin Solus and Thane Krios.

About Spec Ops: would you recommend the game? I've heard many positive things about it, but a few not so good things as well. And I would like to hear the opinion of a fellow Walking Dead and Dragon Age player, if you don't mind :D

Oh yes, the main menu theme is great, but my favourite theme from the whole trilogy is "Leaving Earth" from ME 3. Ilos was one of the best "missions" in the whole trilogy, the music and level design were absolutely awesome.

I recommend Spec Ops the Line because it's like the Walking Dead of TPS, the gameplay is standard for a third person shooter but the content is great, you slowly start to hate your character and the choices are either bad or worse, it's good.

Totally agree, and more more more. Besides I thing that something in storyline of Spec ops are better than in TWD (I hate to say this but it's true). I said "something", not all. Actually subjects of those games are not comparable because TWD is based on taking care of a close person, and in Spec ops... *spoiler*

Hmmm so both of you recommend it? Okay, sold. once my new PC finally arrives (probably this month) I'll give it a try. Sounds really interesting, especially the part with the choices.

You will not regret it. Honestly, I was shocked. I thought that this is another stupid shooter. I was mistaken.

It's a shame it's the most underrated game of 2012, and there were plenty of games that were not as good they were both better know and sold better.

Yes, the most annoying thing is that after this failure, the developers dropped his hands, and they don't want to do more games like this. So now we have the dominance of the stupid games like COD. The last hope is Telltale. (and PS3 exclusives like Heavy rain)
  • edited June 2013
I would gladly pay 60 more dollars if they made a sequel but it won't happen, since if the world was good there would be more of these and no COD's, but hay I can dream.

    [ME 2 SPOILERS]
    You mean
    Samara
was the good one, and the
    ardat yakshi daughter
    was the bad one, right?

    [ME 1 SPOILERS]
    But we were talking about
    Liara
    and her mother
    Matriarch Benezia, who was indoctrinated.

I would say that there were so parts in the trilogy that was sad, most of them were in three though, they were not as sad as this game obviously but it's is depressing to see the squadmates you known for over 200 hours just die.

Yes, that's probably why I like 3 the most, although there were major letdowns as well. But I like the depressing, somewhat apocalyptic feeling (Citadel Atmosphere) the game has to it. Some of the deaths were really... really cruel.
  • edited June 2013
Tell me, which one did you think was the most cruel as I thought it sucked the best characters from 2 have to die and three, I also find three to be the best, I am most likely the only person on the internet that does not hate the ending, I thought it was good but then again I bought Mass Effect 3 in March and had all the DLC on it which included the extended cut so all I know is the original ending was god awful.
  • edited June 2013
The extended cut didn't change that much, it was basically the same as the original ending. I hated the ending, for reasons like:
seemingly you can choose what happens in the end by deciding between control, synthesys, destruction and refusal, but with the exception of refusal, all you can choose is your favourite color...

    Hmmm The death of
    Mordin
was very emotional, due to how it was made, and because of how great that very scene was, it definitely was the most cruel in my opinion.
Thane and Anderson's deaths as well as Legion's
    were sad too.

I can't rid the feeling that I've forgotten someone...

So whose was the worst death for you?
  • edited June 2013
I did not hate the ending, but I fully understand why it's so hated, I never argue about if someone likes or hates the ending, I will say it was to me good but could have better, I honestly do not know how to censor lines of text but I will agree with the ones you said and I will say the character that dies on Rannoch was depressing because that person was my favorite from 2.

We've covered the big spoilers. Or are there any left? I've tagged everything regarding the ending and character's deaths as spoilers.

Sorry for the large amount of spoilers, I just wish I knew how to censor them, well I will limit the amount from now on.

I'm going to throw in some weird ones that got emotional reactions out of me, not including ones that have been mentioned already. No big spoilers will be given!

Okami - very last act and final boss sequence where certain stuff happens

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door - stuff that happens during the final boss (Okami's was very similar, now that I think of it. Don't know why I'm a sucker for that sort of thing)

Metroid Fusion - ending (Yes, seriously. Shut up.)

Katamari Damacy - ending credits sequence (I DON'T KNOW.)

Haunting Ground - This one I'll need to explain. Haunting Ground got me really attached to a virtual dog companion, Hewie. To get the "bad" ending, you need to have Hewie dislike you when you reach a certain part of the game. I wanted to see all the endings, so I was forced to abuse the hell out of him in order to get him to hate me. Watching my character kick him repeatedly, hearing him yelp and seeing how fearful and angry he got after that just broke my virtual heart. D: I sure deserved that bad ending. I'm sorry, Hewie. I'm so sorry I did that to you.

    TWD Is by far #1
then L.A Noire, BioShock are the only games at the top of my head where I had any slight emotion in a game.

I feel like a utter moron but I still do not know if that's how you censor it, do it put [/ spoiler] around the text or something else and does it show up in go advance or does it only show up after posting, again sorry for being so dumb.

Don't worry, I'll show you. Look. You shall write:
    Главный герой умирает в конце
BUT! in the last inscription you must write this symbol /
    so that this: /SPOILER
    Try.

Just giving another vote for Mass Effect 3 being emotional, but only if you play the whole trilogy. Otherwise it would be like playing episodes 4 and 5 of the Walking Dead - most of the emotion comes from spending so much time with the characters/situation.

But the Walking Dead is the only time I was angry with myself for making a poor decision. One of the best things this game does is allow me to admit that I've made a mistake.

Throughout the game I made 3 decisions I regretted and each time I believe I would have made a different decision if given another minute or two to think about it at the time.

I actually poured myself a bourbon after finishing this game, and last time I had a drink while alone was well over 10 years ago.

i agree as someone who played over 4 hours of last of us greatness!!
great game with some of the best voice acting i ever heard in a game
which makes the plot even more real and emotional

and heavy rain and mass effect trilogy are awesome aswell

but for now num 1 is still the metal gear solid series

i cant describe the feeling i had while i played the ending of MGS 4!

I'd say NIER, that got me in a couple of tears.
Any fans of NIER? I swear it's like the most under-rated game ever.

The Walking Dead from Telltale really made me cry at the ending. It was truly emotional...

Other things other than outright physical pain that has made me cry...

After finish ep.5, I can safely say that TWD is one of my favorite games. The story was incredible but what really made it for me was how the game made me care for the amazing characters they created. The game had me screaming at my TV at some points, when really its just a bunch of pixels saying and doing some shit. But i wanted to know what other games, if there are, you've played, are like this one in the sense you really care about the characters and the game hurls you through a bundle of emotions, and whether or not they match TWD ?
Well if you have either a ps1 or psp or sega cd I strongly reccomend lunar silver star story (or silver star harmony on psp) graphics may not be the best, but this is truely a hidden gem amongst great stories, my #1 game of all time 2nd being the walking dead the end is truely tear jerking and you really become attached to your characters much as in the walking dead love both and would be happy to welcome in new installments of both into my home! (Ps if try lunar silver star story on ps1 there is a sequal to it that has not been remade yet) also, have became as expensive as new ps3 games on ps1 due to its rare-ity and it being on 4 dics

I think The Last of Us was a great game, and the graphics was in it's own league, but at an emotional standpoint I think it was mediocre. I didn't really care so much about the characters that died because they are so hardened from 20 years of experience, and also because you don't really get to know them.
Tess, Marlene, Frank, David, etc.'s deaths didn't really phase me. Henry and Sam's I thought was stupid, as I thought Sam was a jerk. The kid could have gotten them all killed, really. Bill was a cool dude and got some backstory(didn't die) Same with Tommy. Sarah's was probably the one that got me sad, and I admit my eyes were watery, but only because Joel had lost someone he deeply cared about and she got some development.

So all in all, I don't consider it that emotional.

Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War was a highly emotional game (Only in Japan though, you need the english patch to play -At least for me-)
