About Damn Time, I am sick of the Last of Us, I am a Xbox owner so I do not have it, but the whole game felt way to similar to Walking Dead, it might has well been the Walking Dead only they took out Lee and replaced him with Booker DeWitt from Bioshock Infinite, it's even the same voice actor. It has had so much hype around in it but as Mark$men said there is not enough emotion, that and my heart can only like so many characters, and that space it taken up by Clementine and Elizabeth, I honestly do not hate the game it's just to me a 8 or out of ten and not the mythical 11 out of 10 people make it out to be.
The Mass Effect and Dragon Age series really had me as much emotionally involved as the Walking dead, perhaps even more, considering we spend considerably more time with the characters there. Some of them felt like actual friends and seeing them die (or in the case of Mass Effect 3, knowing there will not be a game featuring them anymore) really hit me in the feels. These two games, after their respective endings, induced what I called "Mass Effect/Dragon Age withdrawal period". For days after finishing the games I felt like I NEEDED more of that, so quite a bit of my time was spent watching videos or replaying certain scenes. Kinda sounds pathetic when I say it like that, but hell, that's video game addiction for you, I guess. Walking Dead also managed to hit me in the feels, but on a lighter level, since I know the story is going to continue, so there's that. Still, it's a worthy addition to the list of those few games that played with my heartstrings the most.
Other honorable mentions- the already discussed Red Dead: Redemption, Heavy Rain and more recently The Last of Us. While neither of those games induced the "I NEED MORE" feeling that the ones mentioned above did, they still managed to get me involved and care more than I normally do about video game characters.
I know what you mean, I loved Mass Effect and I did not even hate the ending, there were some sad parts in all of them, maybe not as much as Walking Dead or even enough to reduce to tears but they did make me feel dead inside.
I can live with the ending of that game after the Extended Cut DLC, I was a little mad at first, but then I figured, hell, the entire game was one big ending, closing the characters arcs and tying up the loose ends. The very very end may have been messed up, but it doesn't erase the enjoyment or the feels I got out of the 30+ hours gameplay before the final battle.
I know right, I mean people hate Mass Effect 3 for the last five minutes, but they forgot all 40 hours of fun they had before, and the hundred hours of fun across the trilogy.
I hardly play any emotionally games, if I have then I'll let you know when I remember. I probably didn't notice since I hardly cry at anything (I still find the emotionally though) but the only one was the walking dead itself. So yeah I got nothing.
I don't have many ether, except for Mass Effect, Walking Dead, and another amazing game I really do not seem to have many "hint, the game is in my name."
Who knows, why would I know the answer, and did you find the Last Of Us or Heavy Rain to be emotional, I did not feel emotion even though I know they were trying, I must be heartless.
Funny since both are for PS3, anyway I really have not seen that many emotional games, they seem more common now a days, I can really only count Walking Dead, Bioshock Infinite, Red Dead, and Mass Effect as emotional games I have played and only Walking Dead and Bioshock reduced me to tears.
