I can't play mine at all, I finally got through episode 1 by randomly hitting the day button during the scene after herchel in the barn. This is a joke of a game.

My xbox has the 256mB hd and a 8GB flash drive with 6GB free. I never had a problem with all the cod games or gta and all the others I play.

Are there people that this game is working perfect for with an xbox off the disc?

if some kind of action isn't done, i'm never buying any of their games again. i just wrote on their facebook page saying how the game is an a pile of crap and cannot be played. someone should start a petition to get it pulled from shelves

i just read a thread saying that it only affects the xbox slim, thats bs. i don't have the slim xbox 360 and the game still is being an ass

I refuse to believe that they released this game NOT aware of this issue. Its SO bad and easily noticeable that it makes me think they knew it was a problem but had to get it out on release date anyway.

I have been working AROUND THE CLOCK to make EVERYONE AWARE OF THIS. I have been on social networks developing pages that make people aware of this. Until this is issue is resolved, I am on a mission.

good luck getting a response lol

Do you guys really think SPAMMING the company's Twitter and Facebook page is going to make them want to respond to you?

Jesus CHRIST. Give them time. And there's some dude who's working "around the clock" to make everyone aware of this? I'd hate to see what happens if something REALLY bad happens to one of you guys. You'll lose your shit.

They're working on it. Not sure why everyone feels the need to near-attack the company for something that was obviously an unplanned mistake.

yeah i think it will, it'll show them we're pissed off and want action done

lucidity is it that hard to pop a disc into a console and play it before making thousands and thousands of copies...its called product testing and they are obviously not using that step if the game has such a bad issue to were IT IS A UNPLAYABLE GAME !!!
  • edited December 2012
I don't know about u guys - but I finished the game without a single glitch, or lag or unplayable scenes.
  • edited December 2012
i bought the game on disc and not to many glitches i have seen its just that i finish episode one and then i try and play episode 2 and it starts me over on episode one wtf idk what to do i need help or there needs to be a patch made for the game on disc
Have you played the downloadable version and if you have is the menu screen the same as the disc version you bought? I ask this because on the download version you have to wait till the episodes credits finish and you return to the menu screen before you can play the next episode. When you go to play the game it leads you to you game saves. The file you select takes you automatically to the next episode.
  • edited December 2012
i wonder why it wont let me play any other episode then
If you complete episode 1, you should be able to see a preview for episode 2 then the credits. After the credits then you should be able to play episode 2. I remember from playing the original download version that you can't play episode 2 unless you finish episode 1. The computer has to register that you completed episode 1. Times when I completed episode 1 and turned off my computer before the credits the game went back to my last check point from that episode.

Does anyone have any answers yet? I was hoping to play TWD this weekend. If I return my hard copy is the download better?
Yes. From what I remember the download version is cheaper and is playable. I didn't have many problems with it and i've completed the game 3 times. None of the versions are perfect but any problems you may encounter on the digital version aren't bad enough to spoil the experience.

You're not being ignored, and in this instance, Telltale did communicate promptly about the issue. Matt P is a Telltale staff member, and he responded immediately to the problem in this thread.

It's only been 4 days since the retail release of the game. The problem has to be pinned down in the code (and with hundreds of thousands of lines of code in a program, this process takes a while), a patch needs to be coded, that patch needs to be sent to Microsoft, where it needs to be approved by Microsoft, and then Microsoft has to release it on their server. The Telltale team is working on the problem, please be patient as the process isn't immediate.
But Jennifer a lot of these problems were not even fixed on the downloadable version and how long has that been around? Episode 2 still has bugs, episode 3 still has issues as does episodes 4 and 5. Though the digital version is no way as bad as the disc version a patch fix for the original version of the game is still outstanding. Which begs the question, will the disc version's problems be fixed?

Give them time? You do realise that Telltale didn't patch fix the original downloadable version of the game right? The digital version is playable but still has bugs and other issues that can cause choices from previous episodes not to carry over and still freezes up in places and i'm pretty sure they have no intention of doing any more patches after their last patch for episode 5.

I was considering buying the disc version believing that it would run better but from what i'm hearing it is far worst. this being the case I think the people who have bought the disc version's outbursts and frustration are understandable.

If I bought a dvd or a blu ray movie and it was freezing I would take it back I don't see why customers should be more lenient when the media in question is a video game when both are clearly defected.

Then you my friend, are one of the lucky ones. It doesn't change the fact that there is a huge problem in their mass production. There were people who never had a single problem with the original xbox 360's that doesn't mean that there was nothing wrong with the original design, many were still recalled and the system was redesigned because of the lead free solder they were using. I was lucky to have a playstation 3d monitor without defects but that doesn't mean that they were well designed in general. I was just one of the lucky ones.

I have played the digital version of the game multiple times. The problems have been random. Sometimes it may glitch, freeze and refer to choices from previous episodes that I didn't make and other times it will be fine. I've been playing the game since it debuted in april and the patches never truly solved all of the problems.

You are the only person I know that was able to do so. Consider yourself lucky.

We are trying to determine the cause of the issues you've specified.

Can anyone experiencing hitching and lag please let me know the following:
How many storage devices do you have on your Xbox? One storage device
What type of storage devices are they (HDD, flash drive, MMU)? HDD
How much free space do you have on each storage device (go to your system settings, then storage)? 213GB free out of a 320GB HDD
Have you installed the Title Update through Xbox Live? Yes

I've been experiencing alot of lag and stuttering and I was glitched on episode 2 during the hostage situation where the lady would yell STOP and I'd stop, not moving the joystick, and she'd shoot me immediately. I had to go to the dashboard and reload the game several times to get past that.

I have the halo 4 limited edition slim console so its not just the 4 gig models.

The sad thing is that this was delayed once already. It was supposed to come out on Dec. 4th but they delayed it till a week later so they must have known of the issue but couldn't get it fixed in time for it to be produced and mailed out to the retailers.

i don't have the slim xbox 360, i bought the xbox 360 right when it came out and the game still is screwed up

Thank you for your post Jennifer. I know the majority of us want instant gratification. I'm at least glad to assume the issue is being handled :)

I am also having the problems everyone else is having. The lag and choppy loading makes any scene with time-sensitive options unplayable, you just have to mash buttons to get through the scene. (ex. I died about 15 times trying to hit Sandra with the hammer and another 15 times trying to stab the walker in the parking lot with the screwdriver/icepick in Ep. 1).

My system is not a Slim, mine is an older Arcade. However I have an external hard drive with 25GB free.

I was pretty upset by the end of Ep. 1 so I haven't tried playing the next one so I'm not sure about the restarting in Ep. 1 issue.

I'm glad TellTale is working on this, but it is disappointing that the game was released like this....

i downloaded the new update, and the same problem is still happening. The same stuttering to the point were it is unplayable.

In another thread, apparently it fixed another problem (episode 3 problem) not this one :(

    I DOWNLOADED THE NEW UPDATE.
STILL plays the SAME way. Hopefully this was an attempt to fix it. It would be nice to know they are trying.

Most routers have a reset button to restore the factory settings and default password. You'll have to reconfigure it afterwards though. You can check the manual for that.

You guys Suck, fix the XboX360 version it's embarrassing how badly it runs on XBOX fix it or recall it and give us our money back. At least tell us if we should wait for a patch or something or if we should just start playing Frisbee with our copy. Very poor quality control and even poorer customer support not even on your so called official response to the issue do you even apologize to the buyer.

So Im having the same problem as everyone else, and I suppose its our fault for buying the 4Gb xbox... this is something so simple I can't believe they released it with this problem... Ridiculous! So are they gonna recall all these games and refund us or are we just gonna have to wait and see if they can sort the problem out online... Whenever that may be? Or just to play this game do we need to invest more money for an 250Gb internal hard drive??!!!
  • edited December 2012
I bought the new 320 gb halo 4 limited edition Xbox 360. I can't start episode 2 after completing episode 1. I posted this issue on another thread but thought I would post to this thread also just to see if one more irritated person would make them get answers faster. Please fix this or refund my money.

I'm having the same problem as everybody else. I got through the first episode and a half with no problem (minor lag during the ending of episode 1 when there was a lot going on on the screen, but that can be expected), then halfway through episode 2 I saved, quit, and the next time I tried to play it started over again from the beginning of episode 1. After exiting the game and selecting episode 2 from the menu a couple times, it finally worked but made me start over from the beginning of episode 2 again. I have an older Xbox (bought about 6 months after it was first released), not a Slim. This is so disappointing as I was really looking forward to this game, and it was supposed to be my Christmas present (wife let me have it early since she got her present early). Lag and some glitches is one thing, but I can't even save my game without it starting over. Hopefully they do a recall and give us replacement discs rather than just doing a patch. I can't get on Xbox Live, which was my whole reason for getting the retail version.

Can you guys actually say something about the glitches.this is bullshit.or are you just going to cower and hide forever?
