No seriously, what causes a game to be released a couple months after it was announced that it was going to be released? Everytime I watch the SBCG4AP trailer and here him say "June 2008" it stings. So was it just a bad guess with the timing, or was the game not ready? I'll take a better game later then bad game sooner, but if you're looking for perfection, then this thing is never going to be out. I think many people think it's Nintendo's fault because it was reported that episode 1 was in the submission process a couple of weeks ago. Any answers?

its already the last week of july and homestar ruiner still hasn't come out yet.
are we gonna have to wait another month. I have like wii points cards already.
    does any one know yet?
  • edited July 2008
That's unknown at this point, but we still have one more Monday, if that's of any assurance to you.

If anybody knew, Telltale would've announced it.

It's apparent that June was sooner than they could handle while releasing a stable product, and I think Nintendo and the ESRB have added difficulties to the process that weren't expected. I don't *know* of course, I have been told just as much as you have. And while I'll admit it's a bit frustrating, I have every confidence that Telltale has good reason to not release just yet. That, or the stupid reason is Nintendo's fault.

...I like Nintendo quite a bit less as a company than I like Telltale.

It's not going to come out in July at all in Europe. Nintendo insist on fortnightly WiiWare updates for some reason, and we usually only get one or two titles (and they're often not very good). The earliest we'll get it is August 1st in Europe, and Defend Your Castle is being brought out then so it just minimises the chance of any other titles even more...

I'm in too! Not that it matters... nothing I do ever matters... man I suck

argh, I'm so sad....strong bad, where are you? Don't stand me up now...lol!

Strap yourselves in coz this thread is about to take off!

(And land in the "Delayed until July" thread with all the other threads about the release date.)

I love Defend Your Castle; an addicting game if ever there was one.

I'm thinking they want to release SBCG4AP around December in order to market it during the Christmas rush...

I love to complain as the next guy, but I've come to the conclusion that someday, somewhere, somehow I will play SBCG4AP. It may be in the later 2030's, but I'm willing to wait for it.

I'm thinking you're going to find that Homestar brought more people to Telltale then you would think.

The few, the proud, the people who didn't know about Telltale Games until SBCG4AP!

At this rate the fifth episode will be released in December, so I assume that might be a Christmas-themed episode.
  • edited July 2008
Oh yeah? Well I got escorted to Telltale by Homestar. That you shall not beat.
But yeah, SBCG4AP introduced me to the company...

So would that be a couple of one, then? (Months, that is...)

If it wasn't coming out this month I'm pretty sure the Telltale authorities would have made sure to have us all taken into custody as a cover up for the missed again release date... :D

np: Lisa Stansfield - Time To Make You Mine (In My Dreams Mix) (Auntie Aubrey's Excursions Beyond The Call Of Duty Part 2 (Disc 1))

If an episode lands on december it doesn't mean it'll be a Christmas one (unless it's planned way in advance). Episodes are worked on for months before their release. Episode 2 is probbaly already close to completion.

I'm counting June as 1 (because the whole month went by) and July as 2. 2 months, the "s" is needed. I also hope you didn't have any big plans next week, because I think the Telltale authories are coming to take you into custody. (Telltale authorities? No wonder they're hiring, they need goons!)

    I saw nothing >_>

Well then all they have to do is plan for a Decemberween episode months in advance. I'm pretty sure that once they get one episode released, then the other ones will be fairly periodic after that.

I have some weird feeling it'll come next Monday. I don't know why, I just do. It'll be like... "Hey, guess what!? It's done now! RUN TO THE HILLS! Er, YOUR WIIS AND GET IT FROM THE SHOPCHANNEL!!!" And we all will!!!@!!!!WSQVXbbvcnbv .... But that won't happen at all... *Gets SBLOUNCHEKD!*

Well, Ice Station Santa was released in November. I know that they're not just making it up as they go, I'm just throwing out speculation here. :)

Maybe SBCG4AP is delayed until August, or maybe Homsar worked his magical randomness onto us all, and made us get screwed over.

And I might add, we knew about that release date about a month and a half beforehand and that release went off without a hitch. I miss those days.

What if it has already come out and none of us have noticed because Nintendo didn't put it on the front page and it is lost somewhere in the NeoGeo section?

What if this is a ploy by Telltale to sell their other games (worked on me, I bought them all)? What is this is one grand April fools joke that will, in fact, continue until April? What if Nintendo is actually run by communists who don't want Free Country USA to be ever been seen? What if there was a treasure map on the back of the Declaration of Independence? What if this is all a simulated reality created by sentient machines in order to pacify and subdue the human population while our bodies' heat and electrical activity are used as an energy source? YOU EVER THINK ABOUT THAT?!

I could tell you if I ever thought about that, but then I'd have to kill you...

Well, they are still standing by 'Summer of 2008' so the vague release date is still in effect.

If it comes out in america before UK for wiiware the same will happen.

Ohh, Starbucks will likely die! Are you planning on hitting the Canadian ones, too? The mass number of those really annoies me for some reason.
  • edited July 2008
I am a supporter of you Canadian Bacons out there, so yes, I'll put some in the Starbucks out there.

Their Strawberry/Banana stuff is quite good. Although, if Telltale waits until 12:01pm August 1st to release the game, it might thin out the population of Starbucknsucks 'round the world.

On the first of August, if nobody else does, I will seriously consider starting a Nintendo Rage Thread, which I will close (if the forum system allows the closing of threads) when the game is released (but will re-open if Nintendo delays any future episodes).
