I see. What you say makes sense, though I would argue that she thought out the consequences with her being killed and baby not found. This might influence her decision.
If you ask me, I would choose a person whose actions although off-putting yet understandable and have a clear goal in mind. As an excuse I may think that Jane would never put baby's life at risk if she didn't get so attached to Clem. For what's it worth, she definitely has balls of steel to pull that off and that is why I sympathise with her.
I don't know, there were definitely other ways she could have went about it. Aside from the needless extreme of pretending AJ was dead, she … morealso put him in danger by leaving him alone in the car. She knew very well that Kenny was violent and could kill her, so if she died and AJ hadn't cried, they may have never found out he was alive.
Maybe she's just been on her own for too long, but there's something just off about the way she interacts with other people. Even her affection for Clem as this potential mini-me/stand-in for her dead sister is off-putting.
Oh, and don't forget. It was Jane who saved Clem from drowning and got her warm. Kenny was just standing and would most certainly left her dying while being pretty preoccupied with bullying the weaker. I wonder why everybody on the internet forgot this.

Sarah, of course. It is an interesting question, the ultimate Id vs Super-Ego debate. Now Sarah vs Kenny, that would legit be the hardest choice in the world for me.
Sarah.
Sarah was ill-equipped, thanks to father's well meaning but misguided sheltering.
I think though with time and patience, that she could've come out of her shell, and become a very capable survivor.
Jane was a psychopath, and couldn't be trusted, which was admirably demonstrated by her sick and twisted plan to get Clementine on her side, by pushing Kenny, a poor-tortured man, over the edge, with the lie that Aj was dead and that she may have been the one who had taken his life.
DISCLAIMER: Granted TWD is only a videogame, and as such, it's only value is purely for entertainment purposes, and nothing more.
However just judging the two characters within it, that would be my summarization of them.

Jane > Sarah

Episode 4 would of been far more satisfying if Telltale had implemented that choice. Instead we got a worthless Sarah death.
Well, that was enlightening..
Thanks, I really tried.
