Why people should forgive Arvo

I've been thinking lately and I think I was being hypocritical when it came to Arvo. What made me realize he wasn't at complete fault was actually the opening of Season 2. I don't know if anyone has made this connection yet but when Christa shoots Michelle (who is still a child) most of us including myself at first thought nothing of it since she just lost Omid and was in a state of shock. Who is to say it wasn't the same case with Arvo? Even a day after the death of his sister he could have still been in the grieving process. Christa is a full grown adult where Arvo is still a kid who's mind hasn't fully developed, kinda clever of them. I think the main reason many are so pissed is because it was Clementine he shot

  • Arvo has a bad rap sheet. He led his Russian group to rob Clementine's group, with or without us robbing him. Arvo lead Clem's group to an ice lake that he said was safe to cross, but wasn't (possibly lied about it being safe). Arvo ran away in a sneak attempt leading to the deaths of part of Clem's group and Clementine almost drowning. Arvo lead Clem's group to his hide-out that was totally unfit as a safe haven. And shot Clementine in an attempt to kill her out of revenge. All of these points do have plausible excuses and reasons as to why he did what he did, but DAMN maybe asking forgiveness is too much.

  • F**k Arvo I wish we could have killed him

  • Oh god, please no. Let's not start with this again. This is just like Jane v. Kenny.

Personally I don't think it's that bad. I'm pretty sure it's mostly 95% screw Arvo and 5% somewhat on his side or just indifferent, so at least the conversation's are interesting.

Sure. It just bugs me to see people go like "I want to kill him!" Because that goes against Clementine's character for me at least.

I shudder at the thought of 11 year old Clem heartlessly murdering someone like Arvo, when before she would be friends with and protect them in the past (Ben).

I think the only thing that would annoy me is if someone is hypocritical about it. "I'm going to try to kill Arvo because he tried to kill Clementine because he thought she killed his sister, his reasoning wasn't good enough to try and kill her."

You can't exactly say Arvo's reasoning for doing so is flawed if you're trying to do the same thing back. Two wrongs don't make a right.

  • He is sure as hell not a kid. He is a teen more reckless than Ben. Even IF you didn't take the meds, Arvo will still try to rob you. His sister turned into a damn zombie, why not shoot her? If he didn't come in and start up shit, his sister would be alive. It's his fault. He shot Clementine because he was going to steal the truck with Mike and Bonnie. From the two glares he gave to Clementine, it was obvious he wanted retribution. I will never forgive that guy.

Arvo was such a weak character. Someone that couldn't be more predictable. His sad scrawny stature and leg brace fooled everyone into believing he could be an ally and posed no threat but didn't pull the wool over my eyes. And he only served to shock people once he shot Clementine only because she wouldn't shoot him, even after he pulled a fucking rifle out of a truck and aimed right at her eyes.

As for me even feeling one ounce of sympathy for him. Fuck no, his entire entourage died because he ran into a gun fight and was on the wrong side of the writers' graces. It was all about propping up Kenny and holding down everyone else, so his sad droopy eyes weren't cutting it for me.

    Only middle fingers for Arvo.

  • Arvo got Luke killed.

    Not forgiving

  • im not going to lie I did feel bad for Arvo in till he shot Clementine now I want a eye for a eye

  • But Arvo might not be given Clementine's super girl powers :(

God, are people still arguing about this? You know, I’ve heard Kenny fans say that people who were convinced to killed Kenny were manipulated by Jane, but really, it’s the people who were convinced to hate Arvo that were played the hardest.

It honestly makes me feel really sad how Two Best Friends seem to be the only people on Youtube who realized Arvo shooting Clem made literally no sense...

  • I dont care if arvo is a kid arvo try to kill your whole group and he shot clementine after kenny got the truck started arvo should not be forgiven i hope kenny killed arvo

I agree with all of this. After all, Arvo was Just a kid, (Kinda) a stupid kid who doesn't understand english at that. I defended arvo so much on these forums a while ago, But I was going at it all wrong. This post is the way I should have been thinking.

  • Not likely, Ken would have mentioned it, Plus he said, "They got away" in the car. and Besides, clem survived anyway.

  • I'm on youtube and I thought it made No sense. Also, PewDiePie, CTK, and Cry all agree it makes no sense.

  • Well It's good to hear someone shares my opinion. :)

    Good to hear

  • I understand your view point on this entirely....[cocks shotgun] but I don't forgive him -.- you shoot a Clementine you are maaaaarked for death.

  • Nope. It can be Clementine or Bonnie (If you cover him). Like what Mike said when they ran in the house, they should have walked around the lake instead of taking a risky shortcut.

  • They could have disagreed right then. It's not like Arvo wanted Luke to die. The game just kills off major characters just to end Season 2.

  • It's not hard to understand when it comes to siblings, their loved ones should be the ones to put them out. Even if it's the best for the group, it's kinda not your place to kill someone when a relative is there. That's why Lilly was pissed about Kenny, why Kenny is pissed at Clem, and also why Lee can detriminantly Kill Duck after speaking with Kenny. So regardless of the situation, Arvo is justified being pissed at Clem. And the group dynamics would not allow any loyalty or forgiveness. Maybe if Clem did not have a gun drawn on them, he may have just focus on packing up and leaving.

No, fuck him, he made Luke die and even shot clementine A 12 year old kid got shot by a stupid dumb kid -.-
If he returned, I swear to all the members in the forums, I will kill him,no, first things first should punch him or give him a slow death and pull out gun, shoot his face, mission accomplished.

  • No, fuck him, he made Luke die and even shot

Lets get one thing straight right now Luke got him self shot. Either to protect a plot baby or for no reason other than to die later in that stupid lake scene which could have been completely avoided if they had went around. It was a lake not an ocean they would have made it around eventually if they had some sense in their skulls

(my opinion) and then he shoot clem! wtf this fucker xD i don't have any compassion for him :(

To be fair, Arvo, Natasha and Vitali (although Vitali less so) are all trying to stop the gunfight while Buricko continues to insist on it.

  • I find it difficult to forgive someone that intentionally shot me knowing it would probably kill me but hey that's just me however... if I do encounter Arvo I'm not going to kill him I'm not big on revenge forgiveness is just out of the question.

  • It's hard to forgive Arvo because that situation with his sister was his fault. His crew came out of the woods; under the ruse that "you were ones who robbed me" (even though I chose not to). They try to rob a group that they know nothing about. You don't know what that group is capable of, you don't how far they'd go to keep their stuff or what defenses they have. That's what ultimately led to his sister getting killed by Kenny and reanimating which led to Clementine shooting her.
I can't forgive Arvo because he blames a little girl (whom he later trys to kill) over something he got himself into. All of that drama could have been avoided and he'd still have his sister.

  • I was on the verge of forgiving Arvo, but then he shot Clem. Mike and Bonnie, I can forgive them, but trying to kill a child, while I understand why he did it, is unjustifiable.

  • It was Kenny who grabbed him actually. If he had seen his sister had become a walker the shot or him acting like a bastard wouldn't have happened

  • Like I said, all of that (including Kenny grabbing him and him not seeing his sister become a walker) could have been avoided if the Russians hadn't tried to rob them in the first place. That's the whole point of my comment; Arvo and his crew put themselves into that situation.

This is TWDG. He didn't see his sis as a walker and how many other characters have refused to listen when others are pointed out as being walkers? Anyone hating Arvo for these reasons is being hypocritical, not putting themselves in his shoes

  • Taking anyone's gun, let alone a guy with a leg brace's gun, is as good as murdering them. He didn't see his sis as a walker

  • I've always defended Arvo when it comes to shooting Clementine. I've always felt that most of us, if we were in his shoes, would've taken the open shot if we had one. Yes, Clementine was a kid, but Arvo was still sour about his sister---whom Clementine shot. And Clementine can call for Kenny and Jane---Kenny being the guy Arvo's trying to get away from...so either way it's understandable why Arvo shoots Clementine.

Another possibility is Arvo did it to cause a distraction. Kenny and Jane would be too busy attending to Clementine to attempt chasing after the them.
