  • Man I love this series. Im glad things are still humming along just fine with Telltale. They got a lot on their plate this year, but continuing TWD has me looking forward to something awesome in the future.

  • I agree 5 hours is ridiculous for one episode. Telltale wants everybody playing one of their episodes to finish it in one sitting. The furthest I think they'll ever go in terms of length now is about 2 and a half hours.

5 hours long every episode I hate to say this, but that sounds like a bit too much.

  • E3 have big news for season 3 so hyped and excited

  • Michonne is planned to end on April since they announced its third episode being released on April. At the same time they're saying that it'll be the biggest year for The Walking Dead they've ever had. Well... I don't know about the rest of this community but IMO this must means that they'll release Season 3 this year, maybe by the end of it... or maybe not. Maybe there will be just tons of Season 3 news. Either way - I can't wait for it!

  • Yeah, maybe they're saying that it'll be the biggest year for TWD yet because they're going to release two TWD games. Or maybe not - maybe they're just teasing us and in reality they'll just give us a lot of news related to Season 3. I can even imagine a scenerio where Telltale will reveal the release dates for the first episode by the end of this year. That would be hilarious, don't you think?

What's interesting to note; when they say that this year is intended to be "the biggest year for The Walking Dead," that could potentially m

  • They had 2 and a half hour episodes in Season 1 and they reduced it because they wanted their episode to be long enough to be finished in one playthrough. I think that 2 hours episodes are the ebst in terms of length we can expect from them.

  • That's not confirmed, although it seems like a good possibility based off of pure speculation, since E3 begins a little while after Michonne ends, and E3 (or some Summer Comic Con event) would be a great place to finally share details on Season 3. :)

They probably will release Batman late spring or early this summer (I'd actually be surprised if they don't as Batman v Superman is the summer blockbuster film release this year, as it releases in theaters this March). But they also teased a small Poker Night sized game back in 2013, so it's still possible that they could do their standard late fall premiere for The Walking Dead Season Three, and release the single episode game during the lull in releases between spring and summer, or summer and autumn.

That's just my speculation, anyways. Clem_Is_Awesome could also be right in that they meant two TWD games this year, but even so - it seems

In retrospect, given that we recently found out Telltale trademarked "Telltale Series" and "Telltale Miniseries," maybe they were potentially alluding to another Miniseries besides Michonne? (EDIT: Another miniseries for a different franchise like Sam and Max, not another Walking Dead miniseries...)

Normally, I would agree that the timing of Batman Vs Superman would be great for leading into a Spring/Summer release of Telltale's Batman, but we don't seem to know a lot about the game, including the title.

400 Days and Season One weren't released in the same year though. 400 Days was released in 2013, while The Walking Dead: Season One concluded in 2012.

Then in 2013, we just got two episodes of The Walking Dead - 400 Days and the premiere episode of Season Two.

But, yeah, season three will be bigger - in an E3 interview, they confirmed that season three will be "considerably larger" than any season before it.

  • You're probably joking, and it's ok if you're not. But, I don't think episodes will be longer, we might just get more Walking Dead content. (More episodes)

I want some good TWD not the Lord of the Rings...

I suspect 5 hours long every episode, or the dlc for s3, it will be big. Or twd s2 will have as dlc, continue your story as Clementine. Like ep6,ep7,ep8 something like that.

  • That too. That way we may get something for TWAU again, if not a full Season. I'm in a TWD fever right now, so I thought that's what you meant. And my point still stands that the two year timeskip has a lot of potential.

I meant another miniseries for a different Telltale franchise - not another Walking Dead miniseries.

  • That would be infuriating. It would mean all the emotional trauma Season 1&2 caused was just an eight year old girl's imagination.

"St. Elsewhere" and "Dallas" called to say hello.

  • It's going to be interesting to see how Season 3 starts as season 2 finished off with about 4 different endings you could choose from.

And i will be a bit p***** off if your not Clementine again in season 3 as it's sent 2 seasons building our attachment to the character and making her the bad ass she has become just look at how she stitches her own arm in the beginning of Season 2 and she just gets tougher from that point.
She's lost so many people already (Her Parents,Duck, Lee, Luke, Kenny or Jane or even both of them) i'm just hoping for at least a little time hop so she's in her early teens which will make AJ a toddler and building her own group up

I really doubt that Robert Kirkman would want to tell yet another tale focusing on Rick (although having him and/or other members of his group appear in The Walking Dead: Michonne at some point isn't out of the question), as we already have two of those going on (although the TV show isn't in the same universe).

The third season of Telltale's series could certainly focus on Clementine and co. during the period of the two year time skip though (unless The Walking Dead: Michonne is meant to catch the game universe up to the comic universe, which is possible).

  • Question:

How do we purchase? Is it in the TWD Season 2 Menu? Separate Game?

This is for Xbox aswell, will it just be on the marketplace?

  • I understand why you asked this in the Michonne waiting thread, but we don't have any kind of information on when Season 3 releases, so there's obviously not a preorder option yet. It will be a new game (not purchased in the Season 2 menu)

When it is available, it will be on the marketplace. But that is still a long way off, there won't even be info until Michonne concludes.

  • After everything that happened i don't see how S03 could happen without clementine. i mean, it can happen of course.. but It would be a tremendous waste of potential in a character who we all love and know so well and that still has so much development ahead.

I don't think (and don't want to believe) that they would throw Clem away so fast..

Don't forget that they're creating Season 3, not some spin-off. That means that story from previous seasons will be continued. That means that Clementine should appear in some form, either as protagonist or side character so don't worry. I never understood those who wanted Telltale to throw away Clementine, to be honest, because at the same time they wanted Telltale to make a fresh start in Season 3. Problem is - it wouldn't be called Season 3 then. It'd be a new series, spin-off of sort or something like that.

In short - don't worry. ;) If Telltale announced that they're creating Season 3 then Clementine will definitely appear in this game. The question is - will she be a playable character or maybe they'll introduce someone new?

  • Yes! and I largely share your opinion aswell.

I think what @JGStyles was complaining about was the possibility of her NOT being the protagonist of S03. and it would really be a complete waste in my opinion.. but yeah! she will definitively appear in S03. :D

  • I guess we'll see but I think that it was stated somewhere as well that Telltale is trying to figure out how to solve this problem that they created by placing multiple endings in Season 2. If S2 endings are suppose to somehow affect S3 then I think putting Clementine as playable character again is logical, considering that we made those choices in S2 so it'd be weird to see the results from the eyes of a different character, don't you think?

completely different, Telltale can always tie everybody back in the same place at some point in the plot. It is something they certainly have done before, probably not on this scale. but no doubt is an artifice well known among them.

  • This meme is a parody of this quote: "Anime was a mistake." —Hayao Miyazaki, which was also something he did not say to begin with, just like Kevin Bruner I'd imagine.

  • Kevin Bruner is the CEO of Telltale, but he never said this.

  • I can imagine that they're just trying to figure out the best way possible to solve this, yes? Especially with multiple beginnings idea for Season 3 if it comes to that. I mean, they have to figure out each result for each ending from Season 2, develop story for it and somehow connect each ending, each story with Season 3 story overall because let's be honest - it's impossible that they'd create different version of S3 based on S2 endings. It's likely that we'd rather see different versions of the first episode or maybe even second too.
