i dont think that Soren will play a big role because we saw Ivor in episode 5 that he is chasing him and then we see him in episode 6 telling nothing about him, but maybe you have a point, because in episode 6 we see his book in the white pumpkin`s cave , but i dont think that this is something. In episode 7 Acsess Denied i think that it will be a diffrent story just like in ep. 6 because that is just another portal with diffrent people and story. There will be no fillers(this is going back in the story) with Soren.

One thing not saying that its not a season two but I mean a journeys end for dlc episode 8 and also I feel like the dlc is a season 2 you know. But yea kinda season 1 still.
Season 2 might have 5 episodes that i name them -
* Shocked On - After soren betrayed the group, they might endure on another advenutre… more to defeat soren. they currently find out that he is planning to create a weapon using all the flint and steels to destroy the overworld.
* Darkened Behind - After jesse finds out he is on nether, he must explore the nether to find more clues on his invisiblity, and then they find out another old builder enchantment which make humans turn into soren's minions.
