    Right?

  • It is weird. But considering it is three episodes, I prefer to see it as one story split up in three acts divided in episodes.

It's weird how the next episode is the penultimate episode. Right?

  • Yeah, it will be interesting to see how the second episode of a series will most likely have the most intense cliffhanger.

  • Well, there are lot of awards handed out every year. One year's worth of awards is not proof that Naughty Dog is the best game developer. And speaking of point and click games, I think TellTale is clearly making more than just those anymore. Tales of the Borderlands is a good example of that. Your definition of a linear game notwithstanding, Naughty Dog is still well below TellTale Games in terms of entertaining story-driven games, but if you want an example of a game developer that is up there, I'll give you Bioware, another developer which is now making more than just point and click games.

It's like Telltales the only developer that you think is capable of "entertaining story driven games", or that story driven games need to be the way Telltale makes them (point and click, great that they are evolving but it's still point and click just with quick time events). Sorry man but I think that even Telltale would admit they aren't as good as Naughty Dog. Jak and Daxter series, Uncharted series, The Last of Us (might be more games). I mean these are all Naughty Dog I.P's. Jak and Daxter, one of the best PS2 franchises of all-time. Uncharted 2 and The Last of Us both rank as probably the best games of their generation. And now we're onto Uncharted 4.......

I love Telltale and they are one of my favorite developers but I will recognize the greatest when I see it. The last of us was just the beginning. This game will repeat exactly what happened with TLOU. I mean if this isn't story driven entertainment then I don't know what is.

    Somehow not story-driven entertainment

  • They do not use their engine for modeling..

They do use their own engine.

  • The first episodes in most telltale games tend to be just build up and the real meat starts in episode 2.

  • Well, its like you're saying that you are personally insulted by my opinion that Naughty Dog isn't as good at developing story-driven content as TellTale Games. The Last of Us, Jak and Daxter, and the Uncharted series are memorable games, but like I said, to me they aren't really that entertaining. I realize that I may even be in the minority on this and its true that games are getting way better as far implementing better stories into their games, but it all comes down to what you want from a game. And like I said in my previous post, TellTale isn't the only game developer that focuses on story-driven content. If you look at the resume of Naughty Dog, who developed Way of the Warrior, a really bad knock off of Mortal Kombat and that of Bioware, you'll see a huge difference in the type of games they make.

  • Forgive me, I could've swore I saw that somewhere, guess the site went down or something.

No, it wasn't. It hasn't even been confirmed that Season 3 will be this year, even though it's likely. All Telltale has confirmed is that there won't even be news on Season 3 until Michonne ends in April.

  • For future reference, Telltale is the only reliable source when it comes to release dates for their own games. Many sites spam false dates just to get some clicks. And if one does get it right, then that's just luck.

I see what you did there.

Okay, just finished episode 1... I quite like it, sure, I'm a bit mad it was short, but I like where/how it ended. I really enjoy the moments Michonne is hallucinating because it really gives you insight into her psyche. I don't really care if the "choices do not matter" in this series, because i know they are restricted by plot, and I'm okay with that. I prefer just experiencing the story for what it is... (8/10) And can you believe we're already at the penultimate episode? My, how time has flown!

P.S.: I will add that I do think Telltale should update their engine soon. I experienced the worst stutters in this game than any other. The game wouldn't put me in the right spot when I wanted to interact with something, some animations during fights were extremely choppy, and once the game froze for about 20 seconds. (It was in the boat when talking to Pete. the game froze mid-sentence. and don't worry, the memory isn't full on it. PS4)

  • Yeah, they need to update their engine quite a bit. That, or get a new one. In some ways, Walking Dead seasons 1 & 2 perform worse on current gen than they did on last gen.

  • Nah. If it will be 15th March, we get Mc sm ep5 on 29. If it would get released on 21st, then bye bye mc sm for March. TTG doesn't release episodes each week, they release one, then they wait one week, and after a another week they release an another episode.

  • That's not what they mean when they say update the engine, the game runs like crap. Particularly on older consoles, they need to update the game to improve it in that sense. For a game where you have such little freedom it shouldn't have any of these issues

They have release one episode a week after another in the past so it could be possible for them to do it again, Game of Thrones episode 6 was released November 17th and Minecraft Story Mode episode 3 was released November 24th so it's possible for either Story Mode episode 5 or Michonne episode 2 to release March 22nd and another to release on the 29th.

Another thing to note is that Job has already conformed on Twitter that Story Mode episode 5 should release in March and Telltale confirmed in their blog post that Michonne episode 2 should also release in March.

  • Even my shitty laptop can run this at a smooth 60fps, not sure what you're talking about.

  • Xbox One. For season 2, the frame rate is fine most of the time, it just sometimes has this issue of stuttering/freezing when moving to the next scene. I'm not pissed or anything, it just baffles me that the game seems to have such a hard time with that. Season 1 on the Xbone doesn't have that problem, but it does sometimes crash when loading a specific chapter or episode.

I've completed both seasons on Xbox 360 as well, and I never had either problems. The issues I had on the 360 was slight stuttering throughout both seasons.

Oh, so you want a free camera. I do wanna no-clip everywhere too. TTG always did Heavy Rain style, with interactions. I'm not bothered by that at it.

They had a few periods where three episodes were released one week apart during a three week period back in 2015. I would not dismiss the possibility of that happening here with Michonne Episode 2 and Minecraft Episode 5.

As someone who has played Season 1 and 2 on a PS4, I can say that is not the case with that platform. Not only did they run at better frame rates, but the technical issues that plagued these games on PS3 were not present during my two playthroughs of the PS4 version. The same can be said with Michonne as well.
