  • personal opinion aside, we need to remember that clementine and co. are NOT REAL. ''WE'' as a community ARE. people who are the making the game are more real than clementine is. we need to treat them and THEIR creative version of what ANF is, what IT IS.

is this cringey enough? because being emotional on a forum is normal. :)

Honestly this thread is starting to be more cringey rather than just criticising the game now.

  • I will keep away myself from the boards until episode 3 comes out. Maybe, I will occasionally check Job's AMA, but that's it.

I created a list that will make or break ANF for me:

    • More Clementine playtime
    • More puzzles/hubs
    • More/longer flashbacks
    • Better character development
    • Longer episodes
    • Improvement to the story
    • Clear dialogue options
    • Choices matter during E3
    • Choices matter from previous seasons (Clementine being different depending on your choices for example)
    • reasonable development of the story
      ???UNFIXABLE???

    • S2 endings flashbacks

Just gotta wait and see what episode 3 has for us

  • I wouldn't be too hopeful in more Clementine playtime especially after Jobs comment yesterday.

  • Y'know, if Telltale released those two very short episodes as just one then I don't think the game would get nearly as much hate.
It's the idea that we're already two fifths of the way through the entire game that gets many people down and exacerbates their complaints.
Personally, even if every other episode was 4 hours long I'd still feel a bit robbed.

    Yeah, probably.

There'd still be complaints, like with music and animations and especially still with the flashbacks, but not anywhere near to the extent at current levels. And the game would be a lot easier to defend. Lack of character development? Oh, we're only one episode in - give it time. Lack of Clementine? This was just setting her up, her parts will come later on.

And of course, complaints about episode length wouldn't exist. Splitting the premier into two was just a bad idea in general.

  • I guess they could still go back and change it so that it's only one episode, nobody would fault them for it and I can't imagine it'd take much work to do a bit of re-labelling.
Of course, then they'd have to commit more time to the game so that they can make what is essentially a 6th episode.
    fingers crossed eh?

    Um, hi.

    Can you answer these polls?

    1.

    2.

    Thank you.

  • First one I picked Ties that Bind but for the second one I picked A House Divided. I really liked Ties that bind part 2, don't get me wrong, but A House Divided is one of my favorite episodes.

Um, hi. Can you answer these polls? 1. 2. Thank you.

Man, the second one isn't even remotely fair

It's like challenging someone to a plane-landing contest, except you make your opponent land a jumbo jet on a kayak instead of an air strip

  • [Season 3 Pondering of The Day...]

Why didn't Clem find a bicycle? You can get pretty far on a bike in one day, and go off road and carry it up the stairs. You can't carry a truck up the stairs. Are bikes not cool in a ZA? Is that the unwritten rule, that everybody's gotta have trucks and horses, or walk on foot? Where are the biker gangs shooting guns and ringing their little bicycle bells?

If she really wanted to leave the area, that girl should've peddled, or gotten a skateboard, or roller blades. Scooters are cool...I really want a scooter...

  • tell tale usually makes us wait like one to two months sometimes
    three

  • I waited until all of their Batman game was released before playing it as I knew how long they take between episodes.

Couldn't stop myself from starting TWD season 3 straight away though. However since I'm not exactly a huge fan of the changes they have made to this season, I think I'm going to engage in the wait until the season is completed mindset again.

Telltale game genuinely work better for me when I can bingle play all the episodes and go back straight away and experience things a different way, though that has been killed by the lack of a rewind feature.

  • I'm really hyped for episode 3! I just want it to be out!

So that the series can be over sooner.

  • This would finalize her edginess to master level.

  • You know, as masochistic as it sounds I'm actually looking forward to Episode 3.

There are a bunch of plot points that could really add to the intrigue of the plot if done and explained correctly - How is The New Frontier organised? What's this apparent conflict between them and another group according to Jesus? What's David been up to exactly? What's really behind Clementine and will she actually open up and afford the truth to Javi, considering she's still obscuring him with details about her past with The New Frontier - plus she hasn't even told him about AJ.

And yet I know for an almost certainty that we're going to get little to no character development/interactions, forced conflicts and more choppy usage of choices. Add insulting elements of 'playability' with Clementine and her flashbacks and, of course, shocking episode length which instantly drains me of any hype.

Despite this, I can't help but want to find out what the hell is actually happening.

There are only like 3 active girls that I know of on this site.

  • Yes they do although it seems to always take longer for walking dead VS Batman&Borderlands and so on.

  • Episode 2 of borderlands took 3.5 months, so dunno what you're talking about.

    *Season NOT Series

Job hinted at Season 4 already!

I'm really hyped for episode 3! I just want it to be out! So that the series can be over sooner.

  • I'm looking forward to episode 3 for a very simple reason

No matter what happens to this series, what direction it goes in, or whatever Telltale ends up doing with it, there will be a part of me that will always love this game series

and that small part of me still wants to see where S3 goes

The other parts of me are still interested in where the season goes, though. I got my problems with how some things were handled, but I wouldn't consider S3 to be a complete lost cause yet. And I have a feeling that despite the first two episodes being somewhat lackluster, episode 3 is where the actual story of S3 will finally get its footing-- we've got a central conflict more or less set up with the reintroduction of David, along with both his and our affiliations with the NF, and most of the characters as of this moment have motivations for what they're doing or how they feel about one another, so the table has more or less been set for the next three episodes. Only downside is that it took them two episodes worth to get to that point.

So yeah, I'm thinking that episode 3 can only go up from where episode 2 left off. Unless something fucks up and goes majorly wrong yet again and proves me wrong. I do believe in Murphy's law, after all.

Bottom line: I'm gonna continue being optimistic about stuff, because someone's gotta be the forum's resident hopeless optimist, right?

  • that's not really what I meant.

  • Basically explaining how Javier is the main character and focus of the story and Clementine is the supporting character. That to me further shows that telltale is not focusing on having any more playability time than she already has as i see them actually reducing her role to a solely NPC to focus entirely on Javier. Now jobs obviously tried to make it seem like clem in a supporting role is still important but we all know from the how telltales handled ANF she's not.

I'm remembering now that I was so late to season 2 (lucky) that they released the first few episodes, then I dropped in on the boards to see people complaining about long how the other episodes were taking to drop, then one or two days later the rest came out.

    That's about it.

  • If episode 3 is 1 hour and a half I'm guna make a party with my ducks

  • No he didn't, every time a telltale game is asked if there will be another season mid season, Telltale always responds with "can't say right now"
