just finished playing chapter five right threw to the end... fantastic movie ending, the plot thickens bwahahahahahaa.... also, LONG LIVE SAM & MAX 2010...
just want to give a shout out to the whole team of telltalegames... without you this wouldn't have been made possible, i enjoyed the game thoroughly to the very last joke... CONGRATULATIONS!!! i look forward to your long and prosperous future
just a little question....who else thinks the ferryman is THE flying welshman? guybrush himself seems to remember him from somewhere . it took me some time to place him...maybe ill meet him again, ive just arrived at the crossroads.
Okay, that was good. I'm hoping the next series - if there is one - has more Morgan Le Flay. And less LeChuck. Good a character as he is, it'd be nice to have a series where he doesn't appear at all. Less of the Voodoo Lady would be good to, or at least some resolution of the is/isn't she evil etc..
How on earth you people finish this the same day it's released?!!!!! I always spend several weeks to finish an episode.
If I was smart, I would have done the same. It's what I did with Sam and Max. But a bit of stupidity allows me to play through the night and set aside sleep.
Gosh... guys, what a fantastic finale!!! This game was SO awesome! And I'm so proud of myself that this time, I really did it ALL by myself, without looking for hints in the forums or anything, but really using my wits. That is, it was easy enough to beat it by myself, but hard enough to have to do some thinking. It was just perfect! And SO suspenseful!
I LOVED IT!!!
Thank you SO much, TTG! You really are my heroes now!
I'll post a real review in the other thread, since I don't want to spoil here.
I started playing about 5 hours ago and literally just finished it. I'm typing this on my laptop, I haven't even exited out of the game on my PC yet!
I absolutely loved it! The story unfolded beautifully, the puzzles were cleverly designed and logical yet also challenging, the graphics and animation were splendid and the musical soundtrack was perfect. The voice acting was awesome as always, and the game was so exciting!
I've really enjoyed this whole experience, and will definitely be sticking around with you for future games. This was the first episodic series I played as each episode came out. Am looking forward to getting that pre-orderer's DVD edition!
Note: the next bit contains a few spoilers so I'll just hide it all
The land of the dead was very different to how I'd imagined. I was expecting something like the Monkey Island catacombs (BTW is that where the LeChuck scenes were set?) but I also think that the ghostly land of the dead you gave us was actually much more suitable and atmospheric. Makes you wonder what happened to poor little Franklin after he got sacrificed though!
There were some very heartwarming moments too, which I think is great to follow on from the dark, dramatic scenes we saw in the previous chapter. Like Morgan sacrificing her reputation, and Guybrush sacrificing his shred of life. The very, very last puzzle to the game (involving Elaine's ring) was very sweet and symbolic too.
I think the part of the game I found most difficult was the final battle with LeChuck on his ship. Very action-packed and you really need to stay alert the whole time and search each area to see what's possible. It was difficult but I loved it!
There's still something mysterious going on with the Voodoo Lady, which makes me hopeful for a second season seeing as that's sort of left as a cliffhanger! (hint hint)
And right at the end, after the credits, after the Voodoo scene... that flag. You could not have found a more amazing way to announce Sam and Max 2010.
The bottom line:
Thanks for all your hard work and very well done! Tales of Monkey Island is, without a doubt, the greatest 21st century adventure game I've played yet. I've said it before and for a very good reason I'll say it again: Telltale, YOU ROCK!!
aww...everyone's enjoying it, makes me even more upset that my laptop just broke and I'm stuck on my mum's stupid computer that barely has the system requirements to run minesweeper
can anyone help make the extra wait I have to suffer a little more bareable? XD
I think it's "sad" for the people who finish it in one day. Come on, spread it, make the pleasure last longer.
It's hardly a long game to begin with. I managed to beat it in a few hours and examined most things for character reactions etc. Do you just play 10 minutes a day or what?
I just got Morgan all happy again, and I click on the boom to go down, it shows the animation and then goes back to the screen with morgan, but I can't click on anything or move!!! ARGGGGGGG!!!!!
I had that problem, but all I had to do was press the down arrow to make Guybrush walk. After a few seconds, the screen moved back to him.
just a little question....who else thinks the ferryman is THE flying welshman? guybrush himself seems to remember him from somewhere . it took me some time to place him...maybe ill meet him again, ive just arrived at the crossroads.
I thought that at first, but then, with him saying "Aye" constantly, I rather thought we should ask him about Loom.
Presumably, coming with the DVD, whenever that gets released. Seeing as they just finished the episode yesterday, it'll take a bit of lead time to get a disc release published.
btw (not really a spoiler): come on, i just got stuck so much that i had to bring up walkthrough to actually know that you can go to the graveyard (leave the wooden peer)...how the hell i was supposed to know? the movement and view looks too constrained to even get that idea even for a millisecond
Yeah, ditto. That and the seagull feather (blended in perfectly with the shadow, to the point where I couldn't see it even when I knew exactly where it was) were the most annoying parts of the game.

hes on a farm
To be fair, this episode was a little easier than the last.
At least, that's what I found anyways.
Finished it today after downloading it today I always finish it the day they come out. Takes about 4-5 hours for each episode.
Can't wait for Sam and Max 2010
Love these games
In a few hours i'd imagine. Its 7:43AM in Steam land, so people are just arriving. TT has no say when it arrives on Steam, its all upto Valve.
I LOVED IT!!!

It will be out today. Its never taken a week for TMI to appear on Steam. They usually do it shortly after TT gives them the nod.
You rock.
Yes.

(Oh, and do me a favour and fix the speling errors in the subtitles for the DVD version, willya? )
(Yeah, you're right... *slaps himself with a half-transparent ghost-trout*)
