    What are you actually researching?
EVERY TELEVISION MUST BE TURNED TO ADULT SWIM WHEN THIS AIRS.

I know you know that's not how ratings work.

    I DON'T CARE. :(

Why do you have to crush my dreams with your analytically cold LOGIC?

Matter? Since when do you do anything that matters?

Good question. According to my advanced SuperCronomax (presented by Timex), I've not done anything that mattered since 12,238 BCE. Fascinating.

I don't want a new Orel show. Why can't they just leave something that is nearly perfect ALONE. I'd rather a giant worm came in here right now...AND ATE YOU ALL ALIVE.

Since everyone is posting gifs, I'm posting this one. It's completely irrelevant but I like it quite a lot.

My sister and her loud friends have left.

Finally I get some peace and quiet.

I really hate Eli Roth. Sorry, only thing that was really on my mind. It bothers me a lot more than it should that his name is even mentioned in the topic of "next great horror writer/director". The prick.

It has always intrigued me how quickly one can go from wanting to be alone to desperately needing company. It's the kind of phenomena that makes you wonder how a person thinks.

I've always tried to go for the happy medium of being alone, but with lots of people nearby so I can run in and talk their ear off for a few minutes (or hours) before retreating into my cave. Because whenever I find something, I have to tell SOMEONE. Otherwise the discovery is meaningless.

^ This is me all over.

I like being independant, having some peace.
But I love being near my family and sharing my discoveries!
(Shame they don't like to hear it though... ¬_¬)

Shame I can't have a device or something that I could use to generate a temporary friend when I need one! XD

Ohai. Who knows where I can find hybrid car purchase data from 2000 to 2009? 'm looking at wether introduction of these cars have led to more pedestrian deaths (due to the car being too quiet to hear) I have crash and pop density data and am missing the car purchases data.

You realize that the vast majority of those years is going to have zero purchases, right?

    Oh also:

    http://www.afdc.energy.gov/afdc/data/vehicles.html

Is the "HEV Sales By Model" file what you're looking for?

2000. 2000, dammit. You got to me before I fixed my damn typo.

Thanks, Dashing, but I've been on that site and it's not what I need. I need total number of hybrids purchased per state per year, not hybrid market share for the whole USA.

Oh, I didn't know you needed a breakdown by state. I made the assumption that you meant "in the US", but I thought a total would work. By state is a lot tougher!

    Edit:

RL Polk released Top 20 and Top 15 states in press releases in 2003 and 2004 respectively, but if they ever released a full state-by-state breakdown of their data for all 50 I'm not able to track it down, and that's hardly the larger range you were looking for.
  • edited May 2012
I've now found the top 15 hybrid purchasing states per year, but I need ALL of them. Why is ths so hard? If they can release 15 states, why can't they release 50?

How to have a lame afternoon:

Step 1) Excitedly purchase the Witcher 2 from GOG.
Step 2) Try in vain to keep myself entertained while it downloads, even though all I really want to do is play Witcher 2.
Step 3) Finally time to install! It takes a while. Sigh.
Step 4) omg it's done! Time to start!
Step 5) Uninstall Witcher 2 because it says it can't start because it's missing a file somehow and recommends reinstalling.
Step 6) Waiting for it to install... again...
