Ah, but if I try that, the price always goes above my limit. I just can't win either way!

    True. True.

Its mostly luck in the end of the day dude.

Have you ever tried looking to see when an auction ends?
Maybe focus on ones that end on unsociable hours, but you can make.

(So say its at midnight on a monday or something. If you can stay up, then stay up. Likely less people to battle in that last minute then...)

A lot of books. I'm the guy who always gives his family books for Christmas, Although I did help in a way for getting my father the newest version of Reason.

I give a lot of books, and I get a lot of books...

And there's so many people with birthdays close to Xmas! I thought my end of Nov birthday was close enough...

My advice dude. Never bid on an item till the last 30 or so seconds.
(Unless you can't watch it to the end, then you may get lucky)

I consider this idea to be somewhat of a self-fulfilling prophecy (and I've been on ebay for 10 years now). Lots of ebayers bid without an idea what their eventual limit would be. When the bids start piling up, they get discouraged and either drop out or bid way too much.

If you bid at the last second - as most ebayers do - you are forced to determine your absolute maximum bid once and for all. That way, when you're not the highest bidder, you know that you did not WANT to bid more and you're less likely to feel disappointed; and when you win, you have a greater feeling of satisfaction and cleverness because you only placed one bid.

But the fact remains: On ebay, the highest bidder wins, not the fastest.

The fastest has inherent advantages though, and generally speaking it's acknowledged that forecasting your desire for and maximum bid for an item too early creates an inflated price and greater zeal from competitors, which would drive the price up.

Why does the Royal Family even continue to exist? They're an archaic, expensive tradition that serves no purpose in the modern world. Also, they're stupid. The Queen's grandsons seriously believe in homeopathy.

The same reason the Hula is still being performed for tourists in Hawaii and why sacred native dances have a 10 AM show time in Colorado. Cultural preservation.

It's not a crime to preserve relics of the past. I think of it as respect to our predecessors. Sure, awful things happened in the past, but if ever single one of our ancestors had not survived long enough to reproduce...we wouldn't be here today. And given how many generations that's been, I'm pretty damn proud of my ancestors.

    Nope.avi

It's actually one of the two Sam and Max sketchbooks Steve came out with. It came out in 2006. The Effigy Mound came out in 2007.

I will warn you, however, to never look at Sam and Max rule 34. Someone showed it to me and it raped my childhood memories.

I got the complete Strong Bad season, but unfortunately it just shows a white screen. Bad luck I guess :(
I guess I'll get the German retail version soon.
That also worked better for me when I had Sam and Max Season One.
    Still unfortunate...

I wish I still had the chat log about him talking about how his family would get his dog a sweater every year. And how he'd secretly sneak it into the dumpster shortly after and pretend "it went missing".

btw, I'm not sure where this idea of stingy Mr. Dashing comes from because it seems like every year he tries to get the best gifts to everyone.

    EVERYONE.

That is a very Josh thing to do.

Also, I bought a plane ticket!

    EDIT:
It's true about Josh and gifts, though. I got my gift for him and I feel it may be cheap, but it's an inside joke so he'll appreciate the effort that went into it and that's what gift giving is all about.

A scented candle. Yeah, I don't know. I guess I want my house to smell like sugar cookies and I'm too lazy to bake. Maybe it's so I can give guests false hopes of cookies.
