Its highpoint was probably in episode 4, when
you're in the alley right after meeting Molly, before you get into the sewer, when while running from the walkers
you get your four choices of saying or doing something, I don't know. Because the time was up after I only read one of the choices. That sucks. And it's not that I'm retarded or anything, that system on the other hand is.
Since they're being chased by walkers, it seems to make sense that Molly isn't going to stand around all day waiting for you to say something. It's so fast because she's actively climbing the fire escape and realistically wouldn't stop to hear what you have to say(especially since she had just met the group and they're complete strangers).

I think it's meant to portray how these conversations would act out in a realistic environment. If there's an argument going on, it wouldn't make sense if everyone just awkwardly stood around after they spoke, waiting for you to decide on what you want to say.

I can understand speaking your mind after the argument has ended, but a lot of events happen immediately after these arguments in the game that prevent further conversation(such as walker attacks).

It might not be the best system, but it's supposed to make you decide on-the-fly, without having a large amount of time to think. In a zombie apocalypse, the times where you can't think about a decision happen a lot more frequently, what with the dead walking about as well as other sudden threats that can pop up at any moment.

Okay, so I was thinking. Have you ever considered editing the game into a movie/show? I would buy it straight away, no questions asked.

Another question, which languages will have subtitles later on?

    Thank you!

Meh, I read the books recently. The writers suck. Ford-S10. Steel-Plated Revolvers (what's it plating, playdough?), "Reaches for the stock of the handgun". etc. On a handgun it is called the Grip.

    sigh.

I mean who mistakes a Chevy for a Ford. Ford S10? heh.

I don't think the game would have the same impact as a movie. It would be fun to watch, but you'd probably just be reaching for your controller the whole time!

I don't know about subtitles! I know that making the game available subtitled in other languages is something we'd like to do but I don't know the specific plans.

I guess you're right, it probably wont have the same impact. I realize now that my idea was pretty bad. However, what if you edited the game so you don't need to walk, shoot etc. and instead only made it so you only do the choices? That might be appealing to the older generations and for "movie-people"-

About the subtitles, I would love to make the swedish translation. Heck, I would even consider to do it for free. Why? Well, besides being a huge fan? I have friends/family that would love this game, except in the current state they would not be able to understand the options you're given (since they are pretty fast) or the conversations.

1st off. Great game! well done Telltale team even with the bugs.

I have a question? So are you going to do what the comics and series doesn't touch on so much. That a Zombie Apocalypse wouldn't be relegated to the deep south alone. Where climate and locale, would have everything to do with the survival tactics of the characters.

That would definitely make it less linear by opting for a major decision at the games beginning such as (which direction do they go?) and subsequent decisions diversifying the unfolding story further.

    Example:
The group makes the decision to head south to Florida.
The usual. looting, bandits, walkers etc

    or

Group heads North where deep sub zero winter freezes eliminate walker activity (for awhile). But different challenges may face the survivors like starvation in a tough winter (possibly a little Donner Party decision taking place taking out a choice of two major characters). Which would potentially change the outcome of the game even further.

Not asking for spoilers. Just asking if you plan on expanding the choices made by players in series 2 and making it less linear?

hmm changing to different location would be interesting would love to see this going to Oklahoma in tornado alley. weather in Oklahoma would be both freezing in winter and extremely hot in summer not to mention threats of tornado's. having that in season 2 would change the dynamic of the game. also who wouldn't want to see a horde of zombies getting swept up in a tornado lol.

I was wondering this also. Every year parts of The U.S. gets hit by big storms, be it hurricanes, tornadoes, snow storms, brush fires, etc. Wouldn't those clear out a good deal of Zombies? (though periodically) May also take out a lot of the scarce living also.

Sandy would have wiped out a lot of those Zombies heading to the East Coast.

First off, thanks for making such a great game! I am really interested in the whole zombie thing but am also a fraidy-cat so games like Left 4 Dead, while cool, just are too scary for me xD but this game is awesome and more about the choices you make which really drew me in! I'm the kind of person who watches a lot of LPs but they actually convinced me to buy the game myself and I can hardly wait to play episode 5 because it'll be the only one I go into "blind."

First question, will any old characters/things (like the RV) make an appearance in episode 5?

Second, given that it's almost 99% not Vernon on the walkie, then will we find out what happened to his group?

Third, is Lee's past in the past now that the other characters know about it or are we going to find out more?

I know these are heavy questions and probably too spoilery to be answered but I can hope, right? :D

    well
lee is dying and people tent to reflect on there life when that happens so most likely we will see more of lee's past most likely as a flashback or dream state. more than likely it will be neer the end of the game when lee is just about to die. or i could be wrong who knows lol

And if he is... He died of Bloodloss (if u cut his arm) or from infection?

We're still working out season two but we definitely want to show players some things they haven't seen before.

    is the
walkie talkie guy's name really campman?

That's his filename in the game engine, and what we called him internally (because he came from the abandoned camp with the car in ep 2), but he was never named in the story itself. His real name is unknown! He's the stranger.
Does the Telltale engine need an upgrade? How much do you modify it between each series?
The engine always needs an upgrade and we're always working on it! If you compare any Telltale game to the one before it you can see that we're always improving our toolset. We are always adding new core tech programmers to bulk up the engine team, and the same thing is happening now.

    Greets from Russia)

maybe this question is already was there.. but..

It is very interesting to know what team are thinking about the whole game, the process of development, what they feeling about their work, and what means this work for them? ..

How it be united by the one idea?

its would be great to hear more comments on game after release.
Did Telltale planned to release some "Making of" series in the future?

I enjoyed PLAYING DEAD.. and WANT more))

    Thank you!

First, thanks for the experience... Really inspiring, and I actually did learn a lot for my future scripts.

    Here's some questions:

-Can we hope for a CD version in Europe? Or at least being able to order it on your website?

-Another awesome collector package like you did with Jurassic Park?

-Do you plan to release the OST, on iTunes or a real CD?

    - I know you have plenty of projects coming (Fables..), and I know TWD must ask a lot of work from you guys (we don't have such a masterpiece without work and talent!), but can we hope to have season 2 released in about 1 year, maybe less than 2 years?

Just thanks again for this experience.. I don't know if you look at french website opinions, but they're all amazed by your work! Even one of the most trolling french vg website just gave you a 9+ (on 10) for it, and that's amazing.

I was really happy to see your name as one of the two Story guys, Jake. How cool does it feel to go from running the Sam & Max site to getting hired in a fledgling TellTale and end up being one of the main guys behind their greatest game yet?

Congrats to all of you, makes me smile to see you guys hit your biggest home run yet. All the best.

It might be a big question to answer, but can we get confirmation Kenny died? I truly think he did but there's still a lot of people who think he escaped. Think you can settle this once and for all?

Ok this already might have been asked but I just dont want to read 58 pages to find out. Yes a major lazy moment but it would take forever. My heart goes out to you for having to read this when I am sure there is other stuff you would like to be doing.

    1. Now that the game is done, is there talks about a possible season 2? Or is it on the back burner for the time being until all the numbers come in and to find if the profit out weighted the cost to make another (which is always a factor with how long and how much works making a game is now a days).

    2. This is not so much a question as a hope. Since the comic follow the story of Rick, is there a chance that if there is a season 2 that it will be the continue story of Clementin? (keeping my fingers crossed on that one)

    3. Now for the wft moment of my post, the moment when you ask yourself if I just took a few moments away from your life. Will there be like a bonus episode 6 for the people who picked Lee to become a zombie? Like you get to control him for 2 hours just shuffleing around the locked area, to dumb to get out and just groaning and moaning doing nothing. Then maybe there is a easter egg hidden that you have to find that gives zombie Lee super zombie powers like power to fall down when you hit one key, or the most powerful power of all intestinal gases?

That you for reading my reply and hope you can answer any of my questions and that the third one made you laugh.

    1. Season Two has been confirmed, but it probably will be awhile until it comes out.

    2. Can't speak for Telltale but they must have future plans for Clem, otherwise what was the point of training her? Her surviving pretty much confirmed for me that she will be in Season Two somehow.

    3. Hahaha. While this seems like a neat Easter Egg idea, I really doubt they will do it.

If they didn't answer these questions in the game(yet) i doubt they'll answer them here. :p

Are you planning on making any merchandise of the game(clothing/action figures/posters/etc.)?

I wonder if the two people in the distance on the hill our two new characters that we will play as in season 2 ??? I only say this because if you told clementine to go find Christa and Omid and she didn't come back with them, maybe she found them dead or something :S !!!

Let me think. It's hard to think up a good question since I know most stuff you're not at liberty to answer. Hmm...

OK, here's one. I always found one of Telltale's biggest selling points to be the humor. You've mostly dealt with silly licenses (Sam and Max, Homestar Runner, Monkey Island) in the past. However, The Walking Dead is a very serious work, and what little humor it has is of the dark variety. Are there any particular challenges with taking on a serious franchise (this applies to Jurassic Park as well as The Walking Dead)? Do you think the people who play Telltale's products to laugh be able to enjoy this as much as your previous, lighter efforts?

The Walking Dead is incredibly funny. Go to the forum on favorite quotes and you will see what I mean.

The Walking Dead is not known for it's already bleak source of humor. Sure, there are funny things here and there, but the genre is heavy drama throughout the five episodes.

Now Sam and Max, that's a series well known for its humor.

In times of great stress and fear the human body is able to push in more adrenaline which increase strength. In fact most of the time we only really use 50% of our total strength even when working out. Its at these moments of life or death that we can truely push ourselfs to the limit. The human body is a amazing machine.

Hey guys, I know it's still early days on this project, and we're a ways off from talking about anything concrete, but it seemed like as good a time as any to start an official Q&A thread!

In all honesty there isn't a lot we can talk about yet -- we were going to do press for the game at PAX East last month, but held off when we realized that our answer to almost any conceivable standard press question would be "no comment, yet" -- but I trust you guys to rise above the standard questions, and come up with some Walking Dead stuff we can discuss, so have at it. Ask away!

How many endings are there to Season 1?
