To be honest, that's actually a plausible thing (not that she's actually his sister, but who he was talking about) that I was talking about the other day. He said that his "sister" is sick and that "the pain makes her cry". Christa can determinately be stabbed in the leg, and it's possible that if she didn't get stabbed, she was shot in the leg (if she is in fact still alive). If that hadn't been treated, she could've gotten sick... And I wouldn't blame her for crying, because damn, being stabbed hurts. They could've captured her and Arvo could've just been worried or something.
Or maybe Arvo really does have a sick sister. Maybe he was a drug addicted Ben.
