is it possible to release 2 games with the same "theme" in the same year ?
i mean, i dont remember TTG making that... ( dont remember if … moreseason 1 dlc was released in the same year but i think it was in the year after )
so putting the question better : is it possible TTG release Season 3 this year ?

They've also hinted that we will get Game of Thrones: Season 2 this year, on top of confirming Batman, Michonne, and the conclusion to Minecraft. This year will be interesting for sure.
they've definitely strongly suggested we'll be getting S3 this year. numerous TellTale comments wouldn't make sense otherwise.
I assume it'll be sometime towards the very end of the year, but it's better than nothing.

Both 400 days and season 2 where released the same year so it's possible for both Michonne and season 3 to release this year, 400 days was released July 2nd 2013 and season 2 was released December 17th 2013.

They've stated this'll be the biggest year for The Walking Dead ever, so that should imply they're at least announcing Season 3 if not releasing it this year.
What I don't understand is why they would take all that time to make a side game when everybody has been waiting for the third installment o… moref their original series of The Walking Dead. It makes no sense to me. If their whole focus was on the 3rd installment, we wouldn't have to wait near as long. I'm actually quite disappointed.
While we are here and waiting, I might as well share. A few days ago, I had this weird dream. I was playing Season 3 Episode 1 (I guess it was the beginning of the episode). Essentially, the story is centered around a group of misfits. They are all people who have lot people, seen destruction where they show up, and blame themselves. A few members come back to their camp and with them is one of the youngest members: Clem. She is barely older; no more than a year has passed (more likely less since it was late summer/early fall). She has had a growth spurt, though. Her pig tails are gone. The hair is short but not Jane short. Kind of like this but maybe take it down one more inch.
And... that's it. I woke up. I kind of like the band of misfits idea. A group of people that got their people killed and/or was exiled by others due to their actions. It is like having a post-apocalyptic second chance group.

Expect news sometime after Michonne ends in April. That, and it's being teased (but not yet confirmed) to come out this year, as well as being a bit bigger than Seasons 1/2. That's all we know.
Did your Clementine honor Kenny's wishes and settle down in Wellington? Or did she end up back at Howe's Hardware 0r cover herself and Alvin Jr. with zombie guts before strolling through a zombie horde?
Either way, she may be back for more in Telltale's The Walking Dead: Season 3 later this year.
The Walking Dead: Season 2 felt as final as any Telltale game ever has. It capped off Clementine's story in a way that provided closure, but also featured a stunning diversity of possible endings.
There are so many branching possibilities in those final minutes of Season 2 that it's hard to imagine Season 3 picking up where the story left off. Which thread would it choose? Selecting just one to exist as "canon" would rob the other choices of their meaning, and that's not what Telltale is about.
"When we got to Season 2, we had a plan in the back of our minds of how we would make all these endings keep those threads going forward," Telltale Games CEO Kevin Bruner told Mashable.
Season 3 will take an "unexpected" approach, according to Bruner. Lots of people in the fan community are expecting something that neatly ties together all the possible threads, but Bruner promised that it won't be nearly so obvious.
"From a role-playing, interactive storytelling point of view, it is not from the bag of tricks that we've ever shown anybody before," he said.
"The way that we're dealing with and validating and retaining all those different playthroughs is really cool and unexpected and, I think, pretty innovative from the storytelling point of view."
The goal for Telltale with Season 3 is to bring in a wider swath of fans. People that love The Walking Dead may not be invested in two previous seasons of the video game, and Bruner hopes to welcome them in.
The challenge lies in figuring out how to do that.
"How do we go back and make sure all Walking Dead fans can get in while still keeping all of our storylines going? I think where we're landing with the story for Season 3 does a really good job of both of those things.
"It allows people who maybe haven't people who maybe haven't played [the first two seasons] to come in and get up to speed really quickly. But it definitely respects, honors and facilitates all of the various end points that Season 2 had."
Carrying your earlier progress forward is another matter entirely. The first two seasons of The Walking Dead pre-date a lot of the work Telltale has done — and continues to do — to rope all-important player choices and saves into the cloud.
"We've got a strategy to help Season 3 players ... collect all their data from the previous games. [W]e didn't have the cloud services in Season 1 that we have now," Bruner said. "So we're going to have a solution for everybody that we're not talking about it yet."
Expect to hear more about The Walking Dead: Season 3 around Comic-Con International this summer, with a premiere to follow later in 2016.
According to this article (which doesn't look like clickbait) season 3 is due to release this year with more news at San Diego Comic Con.

So after reading the article, it seems really interesting. Great news to see Season 3 is coming this year, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how Telltale handles the endings. July can't come soon enough.

Not quite understand the news. Season 3 will integrate the Season 1 and Season 2 together ?! This means there will be a lot of characters Season 1 and Season 2 Season 3. I do not think Clementine will be the heroine, but she will participate.
I just read the news. I'm so happy that Season 3 will premiere these year. I was honestly convinced that it'll premiere 2017. Anyway, I'm aiming at either early autumn release or late winter release.

They did not discuss story details. They said the story will continue from Season 1 and Season 2. When they said they will "integrate Season 1 and Season 2," I think they meant that Season 3 would use choices you made from Season 1 and Season 2. That is all.

What if they focus on a new group for Season 3, and have them pass different locations from Season 2 (such as Howes, Wellington, the empty field, etc) and have the new characters encounter Clementine earlier or later at a different point in the story based on the Season 2 ending you got?

I dunno, it just came to me and it seemed to kill two birds with one stone. It makes your ending significant, still allows Telltale to tell the same overall story while still tailoring it to player choice, and allows for new players to be introduced to the story more easily while still treating earlier Seasons as significant for those who did play them.
I have been thinking. How does anyone feel if Season 3 have two playable protagonists? One is of course Clementine. The other is a new character that can bring some fresh new point of view.
I don't want Telltale overusing multiple playable characters in one game just because they can; I'd rather Walking Dead stick to one character so the novelty of multiple characters does not wear off.

I also feel like it keeps players alert during the game because the playable character is the only outlet they have to that world; otherwise they'd just be relieved because they can still jump to the other playable character. This would lead to little connection to both of them until one dies.

If that's the case, Melissa Hutchinson is about to have a lot of dialogue to read. Shoot, all the actors will have a lot of dialogue for all the different interactions with the different Clems. And watch this forum blow up if someone looks through the game files in episode on and finds 3 completely different Clem models... THE MAYHEM
Honesty, I thought that this was the logical way to incorporate Clementine in Season 3. I just hope that each Clem is different and can be impacted by our choices. Also, it would be nice if TellTale can take our connection (or disconnection) of Clem and use it to shape us. Season 3 should be interesting. I'm expecting the unexpected.

The end points thing scares me as it seems like they may just go for a pretty simple explanation to get them to a place where the story can take place. What would make it worst if they made pretty much the Kenny ending canon with Clem ending up in that camp regardless. That would really shit on people who choose otherwise.
Then again...maybe they will have it you will end up in each others location if you choose Jane or Kenny. Though, if you choose to be alone then you can choose where you will go.

The Mashable article addresses both of those concerns, and says they wont choose one particular ending as canon, nor will they tie all the endings together in a simple and expected way.
Comments
Telltale has hinted that we also will get Season 3 this year, implying that this year will be the biggest year they've had for Walking Dead.
and that's exactly what they want too!
which is why we'll probably know about S3 on the heels of the final episode of the miniseries

I think its because Michonne will connect to S3? Or because S3 is taking so long because its gonna be their biggest game yet.

Yay.
yes, that's all I wanted to say

It's a reliable source, yeah. Don't forget, Super Show and Game of Thrones: Season 2 were confirmed via interviews.
Yeah I just finished reading the article, definitely does seem credible. This is why you never comment before reading.

I missed this detail earlier when I had first read the article, but they confirmed to expect more news in July at Comic Con International (July 21-24; Thursday-Sunday).
