    TRAININGS: PART 1

    DISTRICT 7: Miah

"Miah, wake up you have a big, big day ahead of you!" Our escort Tollie calls, knocking on my door.

I groan and pull the covers off my body, the cold air wraps around me making me shiver. I stare into the mirror and I look a mess. My cheeks are puffy from sleep, I still have last night's make-up smeared on my face and I'm sure I can see red glitter in my hair. It was a long night, having to present yourself to the Capitol is a tiring as hell.

I walk into my bathroom and have a shower using the vanilla scented soaps and shampoos. The showers in the Capitol are so much different from the ones back at home. As much as I hate the Capitol, you have to admit that this is really nice. Everything is just so luxurious and the view off of the balcony is just breathtaking. I sometimes just want to stay out there all night and look out at the stars which seem brighter than the ones back in seven.

After my shower, I walk back into my room and see a plain black outfit planted on my bed. There is a note on top saying:

This is your outfit for training, please get ready quickly! You don't want to be late for your first day. ~Your Escort, Tollie.

I put the outfit on and I notice on the back there is a number 7 printed on so they know which District we are from. I tie my long brown hair back into a ponytail so it stays out of my way while I am training and I keep on my bracelet which was given to me as a tribute token when my grandmother said her goodbyes. It feels like the Reapings just happened, I still remember my mom's hysterical voice, screaming through the crowd. I still remember, my grandmother walking into the Justice building to say her goodbyes.. I miss home so much. I walk out of my room and into the living room where breakfast is served, Spark is seated on the left side of the table and our mentor is seated on the right, I'm guessing they didn't have a good start to the morning.

"Hey guys, how are you?" I ask them smiling brightly.

"Alright." Spark says in a miserable tone, picking up a piece of meat off his plate with a fork.

"I'm good." Our Mentor says as she sips her coffee and carries on reading a magazine.

I sit down and join Spark and our Mentor and slowly begin to pour myself some coffee. I love this stuff, I wish I had it in District 7 it's just so god damn delicious. The coffee wakes me up and I am now alert and ready for training.

"I forgot to tell you two, the gamemakers will be watching your every move for final evaluation. On the last day of training, you'll have a private training session with the head game maker, he's the one who decides your score out of twelve. This score will be broadcasted to the whole of Panem. What I'm trying to say is, try and get a good score, you'll most likely attract sponsors if you get a high score." The mentor explains, she gets up from the table and walks over to a mirror to touch up her outfit.

"Any other advice?" Spark asks while filling his mouth with fruit.

"Not at the moment." Our mentor says.

I shrug and pick up a roll to eat which curbs my hunger.

"I guess it's time to go." Our mentor says, we both then proceed to follow him into an elevator that'll take us to the Training centre.

As I walk into the training room, I stand with my mouth in a wide 'O' shape. I have never seen so many different weapons in my life. Around the rooms' edge, there are different areas where you can practice different skills, from throwing spears to making a fire. After a few minutes of observing the room, all of the tributes are called to the middle where a woman stands holding a clipboard.

"Welcome tributes, my name is Atala and before we get started I'd like to have a little talk." She clears her pasty throat "In about two weeks, twenty three of you will be dead. One of you will be alive. Who that is depends on how well you pay attention over the next four days, particularly on what I'm about to say."

I gulp nervously and begin to look at the other tributes. The careers look eager to start, it's as if their going to piss their pants in excitement. I fucking hate the Careers, but then again it's not their fault their District is brainwashed into thinking being in the games is an honour. But to be completely honest with you, I wouldn't mind burying my axe into their heads. I look over to my left and see the boy from 12. He looks like he's just seen a ghost, literally. I look over to my right and see Spark, taking in every word Atala is saying. I give him a smile and then turn my attention back to Atala.

"First, no fighting with the other tributes. You'll have plenty of time for that in the arena. There are four compulsory exercises, the rest will be individual training. My advice is, don't ignore the survival skills. Everybody wants to grab a sword but most of you will die from natural causes; 10% from infection, 20% from dehydration. Exposure can kill as easily as a knife."

"Alright, can we start now?" The boy from one speaks from out of the circle.

"Sure," Atala says "Everyone pick a station you'd like to start at."

I look around the room, and spot the throwing axe station. Time to show everyone what I'm made of. Most of the others are still standing there looking aimlessly round the room so I will be their main attention. I walk over to the throwing axe rack, and pick up a large, sharp axe. A few metres away are dummies set up in a row. I aim my arm, lean back and throw the axe. It flies across the space and lands straight through where the heart would be. I hear a few gasps so I turn around to where everyone is standing, and give them a small bow. I then walk off to find another area I could try.

"Good job." The boy from five says walking next to me. I shrug again and walk off towards the spear throwing section.

I'm not too sure how I will be at spear throwing, but I try anyway. I lean back like I did with the axe and throw, flicking my wrist to aim better. The spear goes straight through the stomach and pierces through the other side. I do this a couple of times, to make sure I get a good technique and then I move on.

"Maybe you should try looking at something other than weapons," The boy from five says walking next to me again.

"Maybe you should mind your own business and stop sneaking up on me." I say in an annoyed tone. This kid is starting to annoy me, what does he even want?

"You need to know more than just fighting if you want to survive in the arena." He slowly walks off this time rather than me.

Maybe he's right. Maybe I should try to learn something new. The only stations that are open right now that don't involve weaponry are the climbing, and edible plants station.

    What should Miah do?

[Continue training with weapons] [Go to climbing] [Go to edible plants]

  • [Go to edible plants]

He is certainly right about learning more than just fighting to survive and Miah already seems to be quite good with weapons, so I think it would be the best if she learns something completely different.

  • [Go to climbing] personally I'd go with the continue training with weapons option, but after that stunt she pulled with the throwing axes, she's bound to bump into a career in a weapon station that'll try and talk shit, I'd want her to avoid that ;-;

  • THE TRAININGS: PART 2

    DISTRICT 5: Atticus

    How interesting.

The girl from District Two gawks at the tributes from eleven, staring at them with such intense disgust in her eyes that I wonder what would happen if there were no rules here.

    What would she do then?

    Would she attack them?

I would think so. The girl from Two seems aggressive enough, already conveying the dislike she has for the tributes from eleven.

I look at the boy from District One. I just find the Careers so interesting; the way they're raised, the way they're brainwashed into worshipping the Hunger Games. It never fails to amaze me. Perhaps, this year will be different. Maybe they all won't be as deranged and bloodthirsty as usual.

When the boy from one picks up his sword and stabs it through the head of the dummy, that thought is quelled. Of course he's like the rest. He stands there alone, intently staring at the dummy and disregarding everything around him. He's focusing on himself and on his sword.

What if we come face-to-face in the arena?

I wouldn't want to be killed by a Career, that's for sure. I don't fancy the idea of giving or having a slow and painful death for entertainment.

I glance over at the girl from Seven in the edible plants station. It's good to see that she's taken my advice. What I said was true, you do need to know more than weaponry to survive in the arena. I think I might ask her to ally, but I'm not sure if she's trustworthy. I think I'll wait one more day to see if she's worth it.

Shifting my body, I turn back to the station I'm at. There are wires spread out across the table, all with different colors and different tips. I see the two from District Twelve – they both have black curly hair. The girl has a large scar over her left eye which seems to be blind. I don't remember seeing that in the chariot rides. The girl looks around the age of 12 or 13. The boy on the other hand looks 16.

Wow, are all those rumours about District twelve being mistreated true? The both of them are hunched over a few wires, attempting to create a spark in a lightbulb.

Blue to red, I think, as if they can hear me. They have no idea what they're doing. The girl grabs the wire with the red tip, and for a moment, I think she might be doing something correctly. Once the boy hands her the wire with the green tip, though, I shake my head.

    What should Atticus do?

[Come over and help them] [Concentrate on your own work]

    DISTRICT 2: Vivienne

"Oh, I'll have fun killing those pathetic little tributes." I say to Lachlan, eyeing down the boy and girl from eleven. "Look at them, they think they're so prestige just because they got the highest scores in the chariots."

"Don't worry about it," Lachlan says "Once the training scores are released, the Capitol will forget about them."

"You better be right." I can't fucking stand them. Just three more days Vivienne, just three more days and you'll be able to stick an axe into them.

"Any tributes you plan on killing?" I ask Lachlan.

"No one yet." I can still sense the weakness in him. Pathetic. This isn't the boy I knew from the Training Center back at home, this was someone else.

"Here come the tributes from one." Lachlan whispers. The boy & girl from one approach us with a smug look of confidence on their face.

"Hey, you guys alright?" Finnegan asks.

"Yeah, we're holding up just.. fine." I say, fixing my ponytail.

"I think we should start paying close attention to what we're up against." Alexia says, leaning closer into the circle.

    "I agree." Lachlan speaks up.

"What is it Lachlan?" I say, "Scared of District twelve?"

"We shouldn't let our guard down." Alexia says, crossing her arms.

"I agree as well." Finnegan smiles "And, I could use a little laugh once in a while."

"Whatever," I say in a displeasing tone. "I'm going to the throwing axe/knives station." I turn my back around, ready to walk over until I see the station fully crowded with tributes.

"Woah." Lachlan says. "Looks like the tributes this year are in a rush to learn."

"I guess you're stuck with us." Finnegan and Alexia start to giggle.

    "Assholes." I mutter to myself.

"So, which station should we take a trip to?" Lachlan asks.

"I was thinking edible plants." Alexia says "I'd like to pay a visit to seven."

"Well, I was thinking of the spear section." Finnegan says. "I'd want to see if the tributes from four and female from six are any threat."

"I don't really mind, I'll go with anything that Vivienne suggests." Lachlan says.

"Well, what do you suggest Vivienne?" Alexia asks. They all turn their heads to me, waiting for an answer.

I begin to look around at all the stations open.

The District 3 male, District 7 male, District 5 female, District 9 male, and the District 10's are at the throwing axe/knives station.

The District 6 male, District 8 female, and District 3 female are at the physical combat station.

The District 7 female, and the District 11 male are at the edible plants station.

The District 11 female, District 9 female, and District 8 male are at the climbing station.

The District 4's and the District 6 female are at the spear station.

The District 12's, and District 5 male are at the wiring station.

    What station should Vivienne suggest?

[Throwing Axe/Knives station] [Physical combat station] [Edible plants station] [Climbing station] [Spear station] [Wiring station]

  • [Come over and help them] yay more friends c:
